Synopsis
"What is wrong with it?" The vemon points at me in disdain, his words usage causing me to narrow my eyes at him in a dark way. He did not just call Hrudra the cold beast it. "It is very drugged up." I spat with venom, his eyes sparkling in curiosity at the disobedience while someone hit me from behind. My legs broke underneath me as I hit the ground harder than I expected, the drugs causing my Valkyrie strength to waiver. The damned drugs and my lose tongue we're gonna be the death of me. Though that wouldn't be the first time I thought of that or heard that. Many people said that I'd be my own demise and, to be honest. I wouldn't mind that one single bit. My knees burning, I glared back at the vampire woman who sneered down at me with disgust and daring me to get back up. Somehow, she knew I'd do something about her hitting me though I wasn't sure how. For a vampire, she was beautiful but I already hated her for several reasons. One, she's a vampire. Two, she kicked me. Three, I don't like her boots. "It will kill you first, bitch." I hiss, her foot slamming into my face and forcing me into the ground. With blood dripping from my lip, I pushed off the ground and launched myself towards the vampire woman. The drugs may have a hold onto my Valkyrie strength and speed, but it sure as hell doesn't hold on to my anger and fury. Even in my weakened state, I could still land a few good hits. Her shocked shriek alerted the others but the vemon barked them to stay out of it. Not saying thank you, but I love the fact that this vemon will allow me to strangle his vampire in front of everyone. We tumbled to the ground as I landed my fist into her jaw, slipping a knife from my boot and slicing her hair off. Her horrified scream caused many sirens and humans to flinch in fear from our fight. The vampire's eyes blazing atop of me when I tilted my head at her and grinned wickedly. "What are you...?" She snarls, her claws sinking into my forearms while I shrugged and tossed the knife in my other hand. Her eyes flipped to my other hand that held the knife, her eyes widening in realization when I felt my eyes shine silver for a split second even through the drugs. "It is your demise. Do not fret, love. You'll find a nice hole in hell and I will be your neighbor." I inform her before ramming the knife into her head, knowing she'd revive without me decapitating her. 〰〰〰 This is book four of the Power series and by far my favorite book to have written for the series. You don't need to read the first three books to understand this book. Hope you enjoy the book and series!

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1:

"These are the new whores." The man introduced, the ladies around me cowering at the sight of the vampires and the vemon king. His black eyes watching us with indifference and cold. The human ladies cried out in fear when the vampire hissed at us, the sirens threw a back a frightened shrill back.

Me?

I just stared at the vampires that were trying to get me to cower to them.

The drugs within my system were causing me to take a relaxed and un-feeling approach to the situation. I was human in their eyes, but Valkyrie within.

I could feel the drugs run through my veins as if the water was running throughout me. Though having the drug roam within me left me weaker and more disoriented then I've ever been.

And I've had heroin when it first was invented. That was some fucked up shit in the beginning process.

Valrun and the twins had purchased the drugs from our witch friend, Faye, who had helped our fellow Khole. Though she told us the drugs were strong, I never expected the drugs to take such an effect on me.

Though it was comforting not to feel much, it reminds me of the days before the demon.

Thankfully we tied up the demon and left him naked in front of a bunch of horny sirens. And, boy was he super pissed to be put in that situation. The memory of his face made me laugh with ecstasy.

It seems like our big protective demon was scared of these lovely sirens. How ironic how I'd use his words against him. I'd be sure to hold this over his head for as long as I let him live.

But knowing him and his belief that I was his 'mate.' I'd say he's already making his way here now.

Demons are very protective over their own, as well as any other species. Men believe that a woman will bend to the man's will and follow them like lost puppies. The idea seemed vulgar to me and to Valkyries in general.

Our little Khole is different though it took our demon king a long time before our Valkyrie allowed him into her life again. I was proud of her but the sight of her being controlled by the mate bond had my nerves rattled.

Even her clone's best friend, Agalana, had come to me concerned about whether Khole was a full Valkyrie or not since Valkyries tend to stray away from being free. It's our spirit to want freedom and fight for what we want, but now... Our Khole has resided to seeking peace through... conferences.

What a tragic thing!

All Valkyrie valued being free and independent, which our fellow demon did not like hence why we tied him up. Though in due time, he'd come and he would be shifted in a blind rage to get to me.

It's a good thing us Valkyrie are smarter than raging demons.

Men do think more with brute strength rather with brains, it's a reason why there are more women on the throne then men. In the immortal world that is.

The humans are very... prejudice towards women which is probably why I have been banned from several places for voicing this opinion. Thank the gods for the internet and the ease of criticizing men online.

Anyway, the others are awaiting his arrival and then they will bombard the coven. Hopefully, with the raging demon, they will be able to kill off many of the vampires and even the vemon.

Vemons are very strong and I will be praying that the demon is strategic while raging. Four Valkyrie and an uncontrollable demon should have the strength to kill off a demon that was turned into a vampire.

I hate fucking vemons and there are only two alive. It was my goal to kill off the species so there is no more of them. Plus it was a fantastic challenge for me, a three thousand old Valkyrie who rarely finds capable people to fight that'll match my strength.

Good thing there are two of these men because this one is my test subject. The next vemon will be my finale.

This fucker and another who tormented our friend, Alican the castaway fairy. After this one is dead, I will be heading for his buddy.

Alican may have something to say though... I've heard from a little birdie that the demon was her mate. Though this little birdie was chirping a little too much before I slit his throat so perhaps he said this out of fear.

Of course, I needed the information on where these vemons are and he knew this important information. The joy I felt when torturing the answers out of that vampire was surprisingly miserable and I still don't know why.

Her straight black hair hung over her shoulders and poured over her skimpy outfit effortless. The tight black shirt hugged her generously while her leggings revealed her fit body. The blood in her gaze only strengthened my hatred for her.

The drugs may have a hold on my Valkyrie strength and speed, but it sure as hell doesn't hold on to my anger and fury. Even in my weakened state, I could still land a few good hits.

Her shocked shriek alerted the others but the vemon barked them to stay out of it. Not saying thank you, but I love the fact that this vemon will allow me to strangle his vampire in front of everyone.

What a good leader!

Though a human wouldn't know that these people were vampires. I may be strong and fearless for a human woman, but my scent would cover me.

For now...

"Send her to my quarters. The rest of the women can be placed in the cells." The vemon orders the vampires around making me shoot off the ground and throw my dagger at a vampire getting closer to the bunch of fearful women.

The dagger pierced the vampire in the shoulder, my aim clearly off due to the drugs since I had wanted the knife to stab his throat. The vampire narrowed his red eyes at me, pulling the knife cleanly out of the wound and tossing it down on the ground.

"What'll you do?" I question, another vampire jerking me and binding my hands behind my back. "You gonna be a little bitch and walk away?" I throw at the vampire who snatched one of the humans off the ground. "Yeah. Run like a little pussy you a-" A gag was stuffed into my mouth as I thrashed within their grasps and threw more insults towards the vampire who continuously glared at me.

The vemon nodded to the vampire holding me while I threw my head back and hit the man behind me. Before either one saw, I spun around and kicked the vampire away from me.

The slimy bastards looked at me beyond impressed, still thinking I am a human but knowing that they'd drink my blood jump-started my muscles. It took them a moment before realizing what I did to their comrades as the vampire I injured sat on the ground staring at me in complete shock.

"Someone fucking get her!" The vemon barked, clearly, his anger was coming out as I felt myself being grabbed roughly. I hissed, throwing my eyes at the vampire who was holding me now when he shoved me towards the opposite direction the other women were going.

The drugs within my system prevented me from breaking from the binds leaving me unprotected and helpless to the vemon king. I bite down into the gag, praying that the others will come soon because who knows what the vemon has planned for me.

〰〰〰

I winced, more of my skin getting cut from the piece of metal in the wall. The chains around my wrists were preventing me from freeing my hands but thankfully with repeated hits on the chains by the metal piece I found, the chain was starting to break more.

Though it took strength and every time I attempted to break the chains, I always injured my hands by either slicing into them or hitting it against the wall the metal piece was sticking out of.

I've been in this damn room for nearly two hours, the longer I am here the longer the drugs are wearing off and giving scent of my true identity.

Whether this was the vemon's plan or not, it was smart and almost devious. As if he knew what I was before I even entered into the coven. If that was the case, then I was fucked and he knew my several weaknesses.

I hated that the stereotypes about Valkyries were true since we were blinded with the need for freedom, golden jewelry, and the fact that we don't back down from a fight. It was as if these vampires knew I couldn't handle being chained up.

If they didn't, they knew now since I was making such a loud ruckus. That and my blood stained the metal piece and the wall surrounding it.

They're vampires so I knew they could smell it as I could hear them guarding the doors.

The room I was in had a large, king-sized bed in the middle with heavy curtains hiding the sun from getting inside. The darkness of the room reflecting how the interior looked.

I saw the sheets and the curtains were a deep navy blue that held some light but not much. It gave the room not a dead look, but a modern look that made me think more goth than a vampire/demon.

There wasn't any information concerning the vemon that I could use against him. The room bare as if it was prepared for me in advanced though I know vampires and demons have no foresight abilities that I know of.

And I have been alive for nearly three thousand years so I would know if vampires or demons could foresee the future.

Though the unease within me had me wondering what it was that I got myself involved. Before I hadn't thought about vampires taking blood from me, but the thought almost has me fighting more than anything else.

By now, I half expected the others to already barrage the coven and aid me in my fight. Though there wasn't a Valkyrie or angry demon in sight making me believe there were complications on their end.

Hopefully, all was well with the Valkyries and with the demon. I may play it off, but I need that bastard for this mission and my next one.

After that, I will toss him away just as he threw his morals away when torturing my Khole.

The reminder pissed me off more causing me to slam my chained hands down into the metal piece sticking out of the wall. The action only causing more blood to drip down my fingers.

"Doing that will only prove my suspicions." A dark voice says behind me as I spun around and watched the vemon walk in. Their large form was nearly twice my size, his blood red eyes staring at me making me tug on the chains more.

"So then you did know," I growl out, everything starting to make sense while he gave a short nod and scratched his chin.

"Your demeanor was too calm for a human. I am not sure what it is you are, but you are something and that's not human or siren." He comments when I straightened my back and narrowed my eyes at him.

"At least I am not a fucking it." I snarl dangerously at him as he shook his eyes and walked towards me, though I backed up towards the windows. "You come closer to me and I'll fucking open the curtains," I warn him but he chuckled and continued walking towards me.

"With what hands?" His words made my blood boil while he snatched my forearm. "You are aware what is going to happen to you?" The vemon asks as shoved him away and rushed to the curtains though he caught me a second later.

His breath hovered over my collarbone, the prickles of his hair poking at my face when I tried escaping. However, he held me in a tight grip that prevented me from escaping.

"Asshole." I sneer, my anger overriding the fear coursing through my veins. In all my life, I promised myself that I wouldn't get bitten by a vampire but here I am getting by a vemon.

What has my life come too?

"Don't make this harder for me. I prefer to keep you alive and turn you into one of us. To become mine." He ran his fangs over the arch of my neck as I struggled against him.

"You son of a bitch! I won't become one of you even if I die fighting!" I scream angrily, his laugh infuriating me more than before.

"Do not worry. We will not change you until... tonight. Not stop moving and let me do what I want." He orders, his words falling away when I thrashed in his grasp.

The thought of being forced into vampirism frightening me more than the fact that he was drinking straight from the vein.
