Chapter 5 - Touching Concerns

Out side the door, She was suddenly rushed by the incredibly worried Kim Chou. He scanned her body up and down frantically, looking for any signs of injury. His frantic movements made him look alittle childish, but it quickly warmed her heart.

It was touching how worries he seemed to be over her, and she couldn't help but think he look quite adorable being so flustered.

"Did he hurt you? Are you traumatized by being alone with him? If he wrong you In any way please let me know so I can seek revenge for you!"

Kita could help but laugh out loud by his sudden burst off concern. She had bearly close the door behind her before Kim Chou ambushed her.

He must of really been worried about me.

A heart felt smile blossomed across her lips, and her eyes lit up, making her beautiful face almost enchanting. Seeing such a gorgeous smile made Kim Chou's heart skip a beat, and the sudden feeling of embarrassment tinged his cheeks pink.

"There's no need to worry on my account, Sir Kight Kim. The Duke was intimidating to me at first, but I believe he is a good man just as you said."

She felt like saying 'he is a good man' might be too soon for her to say after putting up with his endless teasing, but there was no need to worry Sir Kim with such trifling things. Duke Koga probably teases all the women in his dukedom that way, there was no reason for her to think any deeper into it.

Kim Chou exhaled a long breath, and his expression became noticeably brighter from her reassurance.

"I'm glad to hear it! The Duke is a wonderful man and leader, but he scarcely speaks to women unless absolutely necessary. Because of that, I was surprised he wanted to speak to you alone like that. I thought maybe he was going to expel you from the castle!"

His words for some reason echoed in her head, and her stomach felt like there were a thousand butterflies flying about.

The Duke scarcely speaks to other women... Could that mean what he said before about being his fiance be true? If he didn't like women, then why would he waist his valuable time to tease a stranger like her?

She quickly tried to shake her own thoughts out of her mind. Both her hands fly to her pink face and gave both her cheeks a gentle pat.

Get ahold of yourself, Kita! The LAST thing you need to be worried about right now are boys! The only thing I need to concern about right now is learning how to survive in this realm!

Nothing in this world is guaranteed, that meant her life here as well! She had to become stronger in order to live. She owed the people whose lives she took from them to live on in their place!

She held he head firmly in the air, and her expression was full of resolve and dedication. Her long black hair framed her body elegantly, and a flicker of purple danced across her eyes making her look more like a heavenly spirt then a girl.

"Sir Kight Kim, I want to know everything there is to know about the three realms and the ten kingdoms."

He couldn't help but choke a bit on his own words after seeing such a enchanting sight. He awkwardly coughed, and simultaneously pounded at his chest with his fist in efforts to breathe probably again.

"There's a library in the same wing of the castle as your living courtiers. I'll show it to you properly tomorrow after you get a good night's rest. For now, of you would please follow me to your room." His face was still slightly flushed from choking earlier, but he still somehow looked so sincerely to her.

How can you tell someone no when they look at you like that? How dare he be such a handsome man and be so kind at the same time! It was almost unfair to the rest of the men for him to be so perfect. His looks were second compared to the Duke, but she felt like Kim Chou had the better personality.

"I will follow your lead then, Sir Knight Kim."

The Castle's hallways were lined evenly with candles, making their stroll to her room peacefully and welcoming. Everything they walked past looked as if a master had spent years to perfect. Even the wall paper looked exquisitely made.

After only a few minutes of walking, they arrived infront of a large golden trim door that tower over her head to reach the high ceiling.

"This is your room, Miss Kita. I hope you find it acceptable." Kim Chou gave her one of his million dollar smiles as he opened the large door for her.

A light scent of burning instence invaded her nose with each breath she took. It smelt faintly like the Rose's they used in her bath earlier that day.

The room looked as if it were meant for royalty! She could rasie a family of twelve in this room if she wanted and still have room. It was ridiculously big for just one person.

It was decorated extravagantly with each piece of furniture placed strategically threw out the room so that they complimented eachother perfectly.

"This... is MY room?" doubt weaved it's way threw her song like voice.

Kim Chou nodded his head earnestly, confirming her doubts instantly.

" The Duke chose this room just for you, Miss. He probably thought it would match well with your beauty!"

Instead of feeling flattered after hearing a duke chose such a extravagant room for her, she couldn't help but feel alittle.. creeped out by it.

This Kingdoms Duke was unreadable. She had no real idea what his intentions could be, and that frustrated her beyond compare.

Who was he to her to chose such a room! She'd rather live in a barn filled with pigs then sleep in this room chosen by that sadist Duke. She didn't know why, but it felt like he was still making fun of her!

She shook her head slightly in defeat, and loudly sighed as she entered the overly flamboyant room.

"Then I should thank him for.. 'his kindness' next time I see his Lordship." The way she worded it almost seemed oozed sarcasm .

Her voice suddenly turned sweet, and her eyes locked affectionately onto Kin Chou's. Each word that slipped out of her perfectly shaped lips made his heart race faster and faster.

" And thank you Sir Knight Kim for all that you have done for me up until now. You are the first person to show me kindness since I woke up, and I will be forever thankful to you."

She did a deep bow to show her sincerity, catching the allready flustered Kim Chou into an frenzy of emotions.

"Please raise your head, Miss! You don't have to thank me in the slightest! It's a knights duty to protect the kingdom's citizens, so of course I helped you!" He shook both his hands nervously infront of himself, before quickly making his retreat down the hallway.

"Sleep well, Miss Kita, I will escort you to the library tomorrow!" before she had a chance to respond, his feet began to move as if they were possessed by spirit. He practically sprinted down the hallway and around a corner until she could no longer see him at all.

She felt like Kim Chou was a very innocent man, that expressed his emotions openly. If he felt happy, then he would smile. If he felt sad, then he would naturally frown. He was a pleasantly straight forward man, unlike the Duke whose emotions were impossible for to read.

She quietly shut her bedroom's door behind her, and made her way to the massive white canopy bed in the middle of the room. Her hand sunk into the soft mattress and a sudden sense of sleepiness overwhelmed her mind.

There was no doubt she had been threw alot these past two days. She climbed into her bed and wrapped herself comfortably with the covers.

As she drifted in and out of unconsciousness, she couldn't help but think to herself how thankful she would be if this wasn't all a dream.
