Chapter 2 - The Ice Queen
Inside the Adventurer's Guild laboratory Roxy assist Professor Ethan Stein on his experiments about magic circles with experiments and numerous researches conducted.
[My name is Roxy, 18 years old working as assistant for Professor Ethan who also instructs at the Magic Academy for the past 6 years I studied magic including magic circles, scrolls and magic enchantments from the magic academy with the help of my brother who supported me for the sake of my studies, I can't hate him instead to admire him because of his tenacity to hold grudges even though time to time his laziness is incurable]
[I already informed my brother to do some side jobs I recommended, but he immediately rejected it so I gave him one sided conditions so he can't deny the job, He's eligible to be an examiner for the guild].
"Roxy please inform Grandmaster that I can't attend the examination area for today, we instructors are being summoned for today at the academy.". Then she replies "Yes Professor,should I call out the carriage for you?" Ethan refuses "No, Roxy it's fine the stables is not that far take the time for today then I'll take my leave after I finish my analysis report," Roxy mannerly respond "Thank you Professor, I'll take my leave for your errand," Roxy was about the leave when a small tremor shaken the room.
*Thud!*
"Ah!" yelps and slightly stumbled "Maybe there's a ruckus below you better be careful when you go down," Ethan calmly replied "I'll be careful Professor," Roxy leaves the room.
Roxy is walking through the Hall at the second floor when she remembers [I should have fetch my brother, I forgotten about him] she carefully walks fast and go downstairs to look for Philip.
When she's halfway the stairs Roxy saw Philip with angered attitude and Arnold the guard is unconscious beside the door"What did you do?" she confronts him "I Gave him a lesson with his distasteful attitude"Philip having an irritative poise. [He already caused trouble this this is bad] "Just Follow me" she demands.
"I don't like the attitude of the people who works here, you better spill it out if someone is taking advantage of you" "Che! You are so hot blooded you already know that Arnold is nothing compare to you but still wooped his ass" as she grits her teeth annoyed by what Philip had done "All right I'll neven fight anyone again" while he walks in slothful ways," [I don't want him to cause anymore trouble it will be bad for my promotion] she mutters, while walking through the hallway "What kind of job are you going to make me do? Roxy," Philip asks, "You need to behave and to give an opinion about their performance don't worry there are other examiners with you," she replied "Got it!, BTW where are we going?" He asks, "To the Guild Master's room," she replied.
They reached the front of the room "Please wait for me here and I'll inform the Guild master and please don't touch any decorations there it cost fortune," she warns him "Don't fret I'll wait here at the couch," he replied with his utmost confidence.
Roxy entered the room while the Guild master is sitting at her desk reading written reports until she notices Roxy. "Guild-master my brother is already here and ready to take the work.
Lissandra 26 years old with stature of a beautiful woman with her snow white hair and voluptuous develop chest and she the clothes she is wearing is white one piece dress with a jaw breaking appeal to any males she is also part of the royal mages of the kingdom and assigned to be the Guild Master in Bradford, she excels in clairvoyance and ice magic and one of the best in this field of work.
"Is he already at the door?" while glancing at the door "Yes, he is waiting outside the room shall I call him," she responds "Call him," [This is weird I sense nothing from outside] Lissandra used clairvoyance spell that could see through the walls detecting living beings with mana.
Roxy leaves the room to call Philip giving him the signal to enter.
Philip and Roxy stands at front of the Guild master "My name is Philip," he said it with no energy why giving out small yawns, "You should be respectful towards the guild master," she whispers while pinching Philip's back, "Haha! I don't mind Roxy I would like to talk to your brother in private,""As you wish Guild master," Alice left the room.
Lissandra and Philip glared at each other for a few seconds. She cancels her clairvoyance skill because can't measure Philip's capability[This is my first time to encounter a person I couldn't measure,] "Who are you Mister?" she asks "My name is Philip just call me an ex-swordsman and already retired one for about 10 years!?" he replied with a nonchalant tone [From what Roxy said to me he's 27 years old then in 10 years of absence he is still strong] clairvoyance skills is a necessary spell to mages for determining the strength of their enemies in terms of magical and physical strength [He may be a spy from the church he is suspicious].
On the other side.
"Can we talk about the job Miss Lissandra?" [Fuck! She's a gorgeous it's been a while since I met some beauties, I need to give her a beautiful impression,] she replied "Our examiner is on vacation and need someone to fill out this position," Lissandra is careful to not give out any important information and not to letting Philip know her suspicions of him.
[I think she is getting tense in this conversation] "What kind of exam is this?" while Philip tries to analyze on why she is getting conservative "You will fight and judge them if they have the potential to be useful and dependable" she said it with vibe of seriousness"I don't think this kind of mentality can create talented warriors" he rebukes "They are just bunches of mercenaries who works for money but also to filter out scums from the dedicated adventurers" she replied "You got a point there" [Adventurers are filtered mercenaries who accepts jobs prepared by the adventurer guilds each quest is detailed with information about the client, reward and the mission and nothing else, failure to finish the quest or exceeding the indicated time limit means compensation.]
"Let me ask you Mister Philip, who are you? Even if you're the brother of Roxy your identity is shrouded with mystery," she said it with calm manner while keeping her guard "Ha Ha Ha! I will not tell you even if you force me to it," he said it with a joking tone but Lissandra took it as a threat and attacks.
Cold temperature emerges Lissandra cast ice prison a spell capable of subduing enemies the floor got covered by ice and it will make harder for Philip to dodge this attack [I got him!] *SSSH..* Philip evaded the ice prison with his Phantom step [What is that skill?] "I'm just joking! Oh God fucking its cold!" it made him agitated and tries to beg Lissandra to stop.
He does not like cold temperatures, Lissandra is chanting her next spell when Philip suppresses her with anti magic [What I can't use my magic] "Hey! You can't use that kind of spell you will destroy the building." [Why the heck did she attacked me!? I was just joking, can't she take a joke?].
Lissandra is pinned against the corner of the wall and Philip continues to walk towards her "Miss Lissandra I'm sorry for using that spell but you are getting a bit overboard," while he looks weird with his force smile at that time Lissandra screams"Help me! There's a pervert here!" Philip wonders and said, "Where!?" suddenly Roxy enters and saw a suppressed Lissandra on the corner of the wall getting pinned by Philip.
"What the fuck are you doing did your brain got fried because of the sunlight and you became a huge pervert!?" while Roxy kicks Philip on the floor"I did nothing wrong Aw! I was wondering while she attacked me in the first place Aw!,"Philips is in turtle stanceenduring Roxy's kicks, "Why did you fight back you're already strong enough to take the blast from an asteroid escaping it with no injuries," she said with an angered tone "Aw! It was an ice spell and I don't like cold temperatures, Aw!" he made a pitiful face trying to make her stop the abuse but the punishment only intensified, while Philip is getting punished by Roxy, Lissandra is watching; enjoying the scene of Philip getting sullied by his sister [It seems I was wrong].
"I'm sorry Mister Philip for attacking you I didn't intend to do it you, I was testing your abilities," she said it while getting embarrassed "Please remove the formalities it is fine call me Philip or your future husband," he winks and it was ignored by Lissandra but Roxy didn't let it throught and barrage of punches and kicks landed to Philip,"Let me instruct you with the job you will examine C- rank adventurers whom will take the B- rank examination there will be 2 judges you and one of the guild receptionist grading their performance against you." she blushed on what Philip said and she trying her best to not show her embarrassment [What the hell is wrong with this guy!?] "All right I got it," he said with seriousness tone while having an swelling facea nd still keeps a poker countenance"Please Roxy guide him to the examination area," as she catches her breath Philip still didn't release the suppression "I'll let it go this time don't attack carelessly you should only use your powers to greater good," furthermore he leaves, Lissandra flinched as if she remembered something when Philip said those words before leaving the room [Could it be?].
