Chapter 5 Someone's been following me
I have a stalker,
Someone has been following me recently, lurking in the shadows, probably waiting for me to be alone. It's probably one of my haters. I attracted unwanted attention by sitting in front of the Mafia Lord's son. In my defense, I didn't know it was taboo. But so far, I'm fine.
I'll be totally okay with you being my stalker so are you?

"Dang, I'm surprised you're still alive." It was Zayden Brooks, the guy sitting beside the mafia Lord's son. He was freakishly tall, towering over her 5'7 feet frame. A playful smirk played on his face as he waited for her reaction.
"I'm surprised you haven't shot me yet. Is it alright with you? Isn't he your friend?" Sav shut her mouth before she sputtered more questions.
He chuckled. "Leo didn't seem mad yesterday and he hasn't put a price on your head. People are just overreacting. No need to worry just yet." He winked at her before going in the classroom.
As she walked in, everyone hushed, some glared at her, some talked behind her back.
Brielle suggested she changed seats but since Zayden said it was fine, she sat at the same seat like a stubborn idiot.
She looked at the mafia Lord's son for a moment, wondering if she'd have a chance to talk to him. When she called her mother about him, her mom said that she was close with his mother and that the car accident was unfortunate. She sent a parcel to her to give to him but she was doubtful of that happening anytime soon.
She shamelessly continued to stare at him as questions spiraled in her head. Was he lonely? Did he have a dreadful childhood? Is he blaming himself or his mother?
Leo's eyes were far away, searching through the window, nonchalant of her staring at him. He must have sensed it since earlier but it probably didn't matter anyway. Slowly, he faced her inquisitive face and seemed to think hard before opening his mouth.
"What's on your mind?"
The first few seconds shocked Sav and she was speechless. She thought it would take months for him to finally talk to her. He made it so much easier.
"Many questions," she managed to answer.
"Does looking at me intently answer them for you?" He wore no expression yet she could hear the mockery in his tone.
"Maybe."
The teacher came in and clapped her hands loudly to get their attention. Sav quickly spurred around and wrote a note. It was now or never. She had to give it to him before he lose interest. She turned around and placed the note on his desk without saying another word.

I have something to give you. Please meet me on the rooftop. I'll wait for you.

She didn't know if it would work out but she had to try. After this, she'd never bother him again for sure.
Their subject for that day was how to ace mind games where they learned various ways to confuse their opponent and have the upper hand. Psychology may be her favorite subject and this was a fun category for them to delve into.
"Before you all leave for lunch. I should remind you of the upcoming school festival. There are pamphlets delivered in your rooms this morning. Read them to know the details. The main event starts at 8pm at the gunning range. Whoever wins that race gets a hefty amount of points and you all know the prize. A lot is at stake and we can only send two students to meet the great Don Bosco in Paris. Do your best and you might just stay alive. That's all, now scram."
Sav went ahead and climbed the stairs to the rooftop. She hoped no one would be there as she was in no mood to make small talks.
Her prayer was granted along with a fresh breeze. She rested her arms on the railings and stared at the beautiful campus which layout resembled a skull. After a few more minutes, she sat down tired, her back resting against the railing. She opened her bag to see what she could do while waiting for Leo if he was to come at all. A pink paper was tucked in one of her notebooks. Opening it, her eyes widened when she saw the words written in blood.
Leave the academy at once. Or I will kill you in less than a month.
It must be a prank, she thought nervously and studied it more carefully. The smell was strong so she never doubted that it was blood. The pink paper was scented as well and the writing was girlish but it might have been done that way to throw her off the hook. So it must be male. Also her stalker and he may be the same person.
She shook her head and closed her eyes. She was tremendously stressed and perhaps a little nap wouldn't be so bad.
It must have been a couple of hours before she finally heard a sound. It was fast and almost soundless, like the sound of a small bird flapping its short wings. Yet she still heard it and her eyes sluggishly opened to see who it was. The sun was almost gone and right before her stood Leonard Cadmus with a calculating expression on his face.
"Hey," he said, his dark blue eyes still solemn as ever.
"Hi," she replied.
