A few months passed, and we continued hanging out in the shed. Our lives had become normal again, there were no ghosts to worry about anymore. Peyton and I had become more than friends, and school started back again. We had been walking to school together every morning and walking back home every night.
One morning, I was waiting outside for Peyton when I heard a thud behind the house. I went to see what it was and didn't see anything right away. I went into the garden to see that the shed door was open. I walked in but I didn't find anything. I assumed it was just a raccoon or something, but as I was walking out I heard something move behind me. I turned around to see that evil ghost smiling creepily at me. It slowly glided towards me and I was terrified. I started backing up slowly but right before I stepped out of the shed I froze. I was frozen, I couldn't move. The only thing I could think to do was scream for Peyton so that's what I did.
"PEYTON!!" I tried to look back to see if he was coming but I couldn't turn my head, "PEYTON HELP! PLEASE!!"
I heard a door shut and footsteps running towards us. Then I heard Peyton, "QUINN!?"
I felt a bit of relief rush over me, "I'M IN THE SHED!"
I felt his presence behind me and despite the fact that there was an evil spirit standing right in front of me, I felt somewhat safe. I heard Peyton gasp, then he pulled me from the shed. That smile on the ghost's face faded immediately. He moved quickly to the door but Peyton slammed it. We ran back to the front of the house and walked to school safely. We never entered that shed again, in fact, we didn't even go near it. We avoided the garden.
One day Peyton and I were sitting on the front porch of his house when we heard Phoebe scream. It came from behind the house and somehow we just knew what it was. We ran as fast as we could to the shed and sure enough, she was frozen in front of the door with the ghost standing in front of her. We pulled her out of the shed and slammed the door.
Pheobe started crying and we tried to calm her down but she ran inside and told her parents about the ghost. They obviously didn't believe her and when we tried to explain that it was true they told us to stop scaring her.
I looked at Peyton, "We should burn the shed."
"But that's the only thing keeping that thing away from us," he looked at me as if I were crazy.
I walked over to my house and got a box of matches out of the drawer, "I know that, but if we burn down the shed with it still in there then we might finally get rid of it." I grabbed an old quilt from the closet.
He kept trying to talk me out of it, and he tried to block my way but I got to the shed. I lit a match and set it to the quilt, then quickly opened the door and threw it in. We walked back and watched as the old haunted shed burst into flames. Peyton walked to the house and pulled the hose out to the garden and sprayed the rest so that it didn't spread. I looked up and saw the ghost fly away. I didn't say anything to Peyton and I still haven't. I'm not going to.
We're safe now, Peyton and I are. That ghost is out there somewhere and I just hope someone somewhere finds out how to handle it. I know it seems selfish but it was the only thing I could do. So, to whoever's reading this, if you have a haunted shed, it might be my fault. I'm sorry.
