Chapter 6 - She left without a trace just like that

When the screen went white, all kind of emotions were surging from Aera's heart.

'Thank you...thank you, Al...You kept your promise...thank you' as Aera thought about Alex she couldn't help but worry for him... she knows that he would be distressed because of her death.

Both Alex and Aera were not only friends to each other but were someone who they can depend on without any reason.

'Sigh...It's the end for Han Aera'

On the other side of the country,

Chu Feng stared intently at the screen even when it went blank. He couldn't believe that the woman who was on the screen just now was the same woman whom he felt disgusted with for years.

When he heard her final message for her fans, he felt a sharp pain in his heart as if pierced through a needle.

"Sigh...She was a goddess for everyone...except you. " Yuan Yuheng couldn't help but express as he too felt that the Aera he knew was totally different from what he saw today. He also knew that his friend was also feeling the same way as him from the way he kept staring at the blank screen.

Soon the funeral came to an end. The Han family and the Chu family didn't need to do anything as everything was done by her management and Alex according to Aera's wish which was to bury her beside her mother.

After the funeral, Chu Feng went straight to the Golden Sky tower. It was their home after marriage which he never went to even once.

But when he entered their home in the Golden Sky, he was dumbfounded. Wherever his gaze roamed, it was all to his liking. The whole house was decorated to his liking. It was as if she knew about him.

When he moved further inside the living room the rendered candles and the wasted cake and several dishes came into his view. As if on queue he remembered that it was their anniversary that day. Looking at the scene, he concluded that she must have waited for him all night.

And somewhat he felt guilty. Even though it was the same as all the other year anniversaries. He never once returned to their home even when he knew that she was waiting for him, but never once he felt guilty for that. He even thought that she deserved it.

Then his gaze landed on the papers placed on the table. His entire body solidified when the bolded words came into his view. It was a divorce agreement with a signed name along with the wedding ring.

In a split second, in his mind was blank, and he thought it was mostly a joke.

He took the papers into his hands with a slight tremble. He stared at the papers intently and kept flashing everything in his head.

He met her when she was nine years old in the backyard of her house. She was alone in the bush hiding her head in her legs. When she heard the moment, she looked up and met his eyes. Her eyes were empty without any emotion.

He was taken back when her eyes met his. It was his first time when he met someone with such an empty gaze. He didn't know what to do as he couldn't act like he didn't see her when her eyes were fixed on his.

He took a chocolate from his pocket and placed in her hands and said "For you..." quite awkwardly.

She was stunned. It was the first time someone had giver her something after her mother's death, especially when it's her birthday. Well, he didn't know that.

Her eyes were soon moistured. When he saw her reaction, the awkwardness began to itch him. It was at this moment he hears a soft voice.

"T-thank you"

"What?"

"Thank you" and she smiled so brightly that now he was stunned.

That was the only day he saw her pure smile after that what he felt was only hate and disgust for her.

But now staring at her signed name without any hesitation, it almost blinded his eyes. He didn't know that she would let him go. He was certain that she would cling to him for eternity, but she proved it wrong by letting him go and also running far away to a place where he couldn't reach her.

And now he realized that the house was empty, her things were gone. It was as if she didn't exist in the first place.

Three years of marriage, he was only indifferent to her. But her death made him feel empty. She left without a trace just like that.

"Aera" in the empty house only a whisper which escaped from his mouth resounded throughout all the corners. But there was no one anymore to respond to it.
