Chapter 11 - CHAPTER nine

The stars had come out to play with the moon. A swarm of fireflies were flying to form a beautiful carousel, each dancing as ribbons from a kite string that reaches the sky. Their light was embracing the lofty heights, calling for dreams. Zeal shifts her to the shotgun seat beside him. He sits on the driving seat. He watches her sleep statically. Her body was as still as it could be. The light coming through the window fell on her face. Her eyelids wrapped in profound silence. It is like as if she was frozen. He lunges towards her to prevent her head from falling. And as he does this, the distance of their lips reduces to less than two centimeters. He looks at her. He looks into her eyes and then onto her lips. He could feel her warm breath. A feeling urges him to move forward but then something pulls him back. The seat belt. It refuses to stretch. He takes it as an indicator and realizes he shouldn't do it. He gently puts a car cushion beneath her head. The light of fireflies fades as they fly away, disappearing in the darkness. Zeal yawns. He pulls the accelerator and starts driving.

Park Hyatt Hotel, Seoul

Zoe is sitting on the bed tucked in the warm white sheets and blankets. The atmosphere is filled with softness, quietness. A lamp on a wooden table beside the bed filled the atmosphere with dim light. She is reading something on her phone when something catches her eyes. She pulls the covers away. Her feet move into the moccasins. She moves towards the glass door. Something white is accumulated on the flowers kept in the pots in the balcony. She unlocks the glass door. A chill breeze hits her face. Her eyes grow a little wider. It was snowing. She moves her mittened hands. Snow falls on her cozy ungloved fingers. The snow felt like a feather cushion, soft and warm. Her playful fingers move and suddenly touch the fairy lights which were bestowing brilliance, igniting colors, forming beautiful hues. As her fingers touch the light it becomes dark. They stop glowing. She gently shakes the light. "Ouch!" her lips whisper as she gets a mild shock. She was touching the lights with wet hands. As she shakes them they suddenly start glowing again. Her body falls on the couch. With sleep pooled on her eyelids, she sees a person making a snow man.

She wakes up. It was still night. She switches the lamp. Was it just a dream, she thinks. With a blanket wrapped around her she moves towards the glass door. She steps into balcony with bare feet. The fairy lights were glowing as they were in her dream, but there is no snow. There is no sign of snow or sleet. The chill breeze had disappeared into thin air. But a thing remained unchanged from the last scene of her dream, the person who was building a snowman was still standing outside.
