Mane lifted his shoulders with a "What did you expect?" look. How was one race going to be able to stand up to multiple god races on its own? That was impossible. No matter how talented Weapon Masters were, they weren't the only dogs the gods had. And unlike them, the other beasts were still tethered to their leashes.
"While we did lose, we destroyed several god clans, killing off over 7 god clans – permanently."
Now did this stun Mane. Gods weren't pieces of vegetables or some trash that could so easily be thrown out. They were people who had crossed the threshold of normalcy and entered the ranks of the abnormal. And each god clan had the right to be arrogant. Though they weren't all ranked at the same level of power, killing off a god clan was a mighty impressive feat. Killing off two was near impossible and killing off three was improbable. However, Mane was listening to someone telling him that his race was able to kill off 7 god clans! How as that even possible? How did they breach the immortality cloaks of the gods? How did they invalidate the power of Godheads, a power that had left many in despair over the many millennia the gods had been around?!
"Kerith had the power to kill gods," Keira was the one who spoke this time. She could easily guess what Mane was thinking, so she decided to speak up. Her words however, deepened Mane's confusion. The only ones who could actually kill gods were Scholar Kings/Queens or the more powerful Scholar Emperors/Empresses. The only other thing that could ignore the immortality of the gods was Chaos. For that dastardly power could corrode and break anything it saw fit to. But even with Chaos, it had to be Chaos gained from the primordial source. It had to be the Pure Chaos of the Chaotic Flame. How was it possible for Kerith to bestow god killing power to others?
"Let me show you," Komfo Anokye smirked, and before Mane could say anything, a powerful aura that shook the skies and burned the clouds filled the planet. It was an aura so cold and so audacious that the winds began to shiver and the earth began to sink into itself.
Komfo Anokye nodded his head towards his sister, and Keira sighed sullenly before letting go of herself as well. And before Mane could acclimatize to the strong power that threatened to erase his existence, another aura that was just as potent and smelled the same, inhabited the world of the Three Great Races as well.
Elsewhere, in the city of the Barbarians – in the land of Intersection.
Two Barbarians, a man and a woman, were seated on the rooftop of one of the few buildings that had remained unaffected by the battle. In between the two was a chessboard and two glasses of water. Suddenly the two's expression changed as the atmosphere grew tensed. The man, Magma's father, slowly stood and turned to face the east with a bit of caution on his face.
"What is that power?" he wondered. For he had never felt such deathly aura before. And this power, whatever it was, contained the blood of beings that were much stronger and noble than he was.
"It is his power," the woman, the Barbarian Primogenitor, had a look of worry on her face. And there was a bit of fear in those eyes.
"Whose?" Magma's father wondered. It was a rare thing to see the First this cautious of another's power. This was the second time he had been shocked in the past half a year, and that was saying something for one who had lived so long. The first was when the First returned with the assassins sent after the boy who slayed the Barbarian princess – his own daughter – after she left to witness the carnage that ensued at Amalgamation. And the second was now. The First smiled bitterly and gestured for Magma's father to resume his seat. And he did. For he observed that though the First appeared calm, her body trembled slightly. And if he had to be honest, his body was trying to escape his control himself. Once he was seated, the First took a huge gulp of her water, although that didn't seem to do her any good since she looked into the cup annoyed
"That power belongs to one man. And the one he walks with." The Primogenitor sighed and slumped even deeper into her seat. Then she mumbled the name of the man she feared more than anything else on this planet.
"Komfo Anokye"
In the land of the Black Dragon
The Dragon Lord of the great city known as Citadel was hard at work. Before him were many documents that needed his approval. He leafed through them with the vigilance of a man who was used to being ripped by his wife. He was a meticulous man, and though those under him saw no reason to cheat the city they had slaved for, the Dragon Lord wasn't going to base his leadership on the goodwill of others. That wasn't leadership. That was laziness and wishful thinking.
Suddenly the Dragon Lord's ears perked up. His countenance changed and a dangerous aura escaped his bones in his defense. His entire body creaked in protest as the power he feared most enveloped his city and consumed the joy that upheld it until this day.
The Dragon Lord stood and turned to face the West. Amalgamation was the land that stood to that pole. Why then was that man's power being exuded from its premises?
"Basileus"
In Amalgamation
Every Ancestor was gathered in Ancestor Specter's home. Each one of them – Ancestors Ice, Fire, and Storm – were with Ancestor Specter. Mane hadn't revealed Ancestor Fire's identity as an Ancient to anyone, so her cover was not blown. And that explained why she was still here. The four were discussing the issues that pressed them on every side. They were bright and possessed great experience. Although nothing seemed particularly easy, they were able to swiftly generate solutions for every problem they discussed. Everything was going smoothly. At least that was until his power revealed itself. And they who had lived long enough to understand the carnage that man could bring were instantly troubled.
"What is that? I must check it out?" Ancestor Specter was instantly mortified by the strong aura that contained the blood of too many gods.
"There is no need," Ancestor Ice extended an arm and swiftly stopped Ancestor Specter from leaving. He was not a youngling like Ancestor Specter so he knew who exactly that was.
"Why?" Ancestor Specter asked. He was a quick-witted man. And could see from the faces of the others that they knew exactly what was going on.
"That power belongs to someone none of us can offend." Ancestor Fire explained.
"That is the power of Basileus."
Outside Amalgamation
Komfo Anokye retracted his aura once it had achieved the effect he sought. Keira did the same. Both looked at Mane with varying expressions on their faces. Keira looked distraught while her brother looked very pleased. With a cocky smirk on his face Komfo Anokye chuckled and said,
"Do you believe me now?"
