Chapter 595 - The Boy Who Killed A God: VI

Sasha roared in delight and landed right in front of Mane. The large Nether Beast jumped onto Mane, forgetting to de-miniaturize. Luckily for her, Mane was Mane. He allowed Sasha's paws to descend onto his shoulders and returned the large lion's hug. Silver was a bit slower, and had to settle for watching the two act all cozily with each other before his turn arrived.

"Where have you been you furry baby?" Mane lovingly rubbed Sasha's fur as the large cat purred in delight. Her eyes were narrowed into narrow crescents as she enjoyed the caress of her human companion.

It was only after several minutes that Sasha let Mane go. And that was because Silver kept whining pitifully at the back.

"Silver," Mane smirked and pulled Silver onto his shoulders. Unlike Sasha, Silver de-miniaturized the minute he landed next to Mane. And so it was much easier to have the small monkey all over the young Supreme. Once Silver was close to Mane, he took matters into his own hands and leapt from the young Supreme's shoulder to his head.

"So those are his pets?"

"I have never seen them before"

"No, that monkey looks familiar. I have seen it a few times. It usually roams the city with some flying cat."

"Wait a minute, that large lion has wings on its back. Could it be the flying cat you're talking about?"

"That makes sense. Since the monkey could so easily reduce in size, certainly the cat should be capable of the same feat. They are the pets of the God Slayer after all."

Many calmed down upon seeing that Sasha and Silver were here for Mane. The few that weren't had been calm since the beginning. Those were the blind few who thought that with Mane here, nothing could harm them.

"You haven't stopped with that bad habit of yours," Mane smiled bitterly as Silver tugged at his hair and pulled them apart in several different directions. A cloud of dust engulfed Sasha's figure as she turned into her more friendly form and settled on Mane's shoulder. There she lay, lazy and content.

"They have been fidgety since you fell asleep," Lam walked up to Mane with a small smile on his face. Seeing the beasts all over Mane was a pleasant sight for him. For those two had been very restless since Mane's slumber began and they had caused much trouble in Amalgamation to ease their discomfort. It was a good thing then that Mane was awake, for things were made much simpler.

"Is that right," Mane chuckled and pried his hair away from a begrudged Silver. Sasha purred lightly as Silver was making his protest, and his noise making ceased. It seemed that the Nether Lion still had a great sway in Silver's heart.

"I need to check on some things," Lam said apologetically. He was in charge here and couldn't chip away his time speaking to his friend. "If you would excuse me," the Elemental Prince bowed suavely and then took his leave, leaving Mane alone with Sasha and Silver.

"I see that you two have gotten stronger," Mane smiled and said. He had left both Silver and Sasha with some resources before he fought Ancestor Origin in the first place, and it seemed they had used those resources wisely.

Both beasts pawed at Mane's face in response to his words, causing the young Supreme to giggle. He interacted with them for a while. That was until Sasha revealed the reason for their appearance.

"There's someone waiting for me outside?" Mane was slightly surprised by the news. But once his surprise faded, it was a frown to took its place on his face. For he knew what Sasha was and where she had been before she had been given unto him. Clearly, the person waiting for him outside the city was an Ancient. And it was no low ranking Ancient. For anyone who could hold such sway over Sasha was definitely someone of great importance. Besides, Sasha assured him that this person didn't seek to harm Mane and only wished to speak with him. And Silver backed her up by letting Mane know that he too had met this person and didn't feel any malice from her. And honestly, Mane also wanted to meet this person who had been protecting him without his knowledge. Also, Mane doubted that however was outside could give him as much trouble as a god like Shiva.

"Alright," Mane agreed to see this person, mainly to sate his own curiosity. But the important thing to Sasha was that the young Supreme had agreed to go.

"Let me inform Lam first," Mane stated and flew over to Lam's side.

Several buildings away, two women were watching Mane's interaction with the two beasts with little interest. What Mane was doing with Sasha and Silver mattered little to them. Their concern was the safety of the young Supreme. These two were Aurora and Crystal.

"Is it a good idea to leave him be? We should be over there with him, protecting him along the way!" Aurora was frustrated that Mane had sent them away. Her young Master had refused their protection when he awakened, giving the excuse of wanting to spend sometime alone. Yet he had spent that time helping out with the construction and doing very little resting.

"We have to respect the decisions of our Lord. We are his protectors, but only for as long as he sees fit. He is still our Lord and his commands are our bond." Crystal was not best pleased by the current circumstances. She too felt that they had to be there with Mane to protect him. They may not be strong enough to best the foes Mane himself couldn't best, but they could – at the very least – offer their lives for their young Lord to escape if they ever met a foe much greater than what they could handle.

"That is true," Aurora sighed and sat down on the ledge. After learning that mane killed a god, the Wraith's respect for Mane had gone up. And so did her loyalty. Now she felt that it was a privilege to serve Mane. And she was eager to prove her worth.

"Oh? He's leaving the city?" Crystal's eyes narrowed into slits when Mane took off and headed for the gate. Her young Lord had no business outside the gate and that meant that his departure had something to do with Sasha and Silver.

"We must follow him just in case," Crystal stated, and Aurora nodded her head. However, before either could take a step forward, a voice they were all too familiar with invaded their minds and made them understand that the Supreme knew they were watching all along.

"Stay put"
