It had been six months since Mane's slumber began. During that period of time, the young Supreme remained in the same bed, constantly under the care and protection of the same people each and every day. These people were those he had met in this world: Crystal, Sunflower, Lam, and Lily. Surprisingly, there was another here who wasn't here in the beginning. There was a person here who hadn't been with Mane when he first came to Amalgamation. And that person was Rose. The thorny eldest sister of the triplet Elementals had been sent here when news of mane's sleep spread to Ashera. The Elemental Scholar couldn't leave her tower, so she sent her right hand 'woman' in her place. Rose got to Amalgamation in a month. And she had been caring for Mane along with her sister. The two, together with Lam, Crystal and Lily, cared for the young Supreme.
A lot could happen in six months. And a lot had happened in 6 months. Crystal searched for Aurora during this period. And she did find the Wraith after searching for a few days. The search wasn't that complicated since Amalgamation was mostly rubble. Once she found the Wraith, Crystal returned to her master's side fully.
Right now, there was only one person in Mane's room – Sunflower. The elemental whose heart belonged to the Supreme had watched the young Supreme longer than every other person – with the exception of the young Supreme's fairy. For Hildegarde had been here longer than everyone else and never left even once. But who could see her?
Sunflower was seated next to Mane. Her head was on his bed and one of her hands in his hair. Her gentle breathing suggested that she was asleep herself, just like the man she was waiting for. But unlike him, her rest was finite. Sunflower slept for almost ten minutes before she was awakened by the sound of the door being opened. Her neck extended swiftly and her head span towards the direction of the door with a bit of caution. Yet when she saw the one who had made it in, she breathed a gentle sigh of relief and let out a small smile.
"He is still not up yet," the newcomer stayed at the door and asked.
"No – not yet," Sunflower shook her head in reply
"Why so tense?" the lady who shared the same blood as Sunflower – Rose – lifted her eyebrows in curiosity as she approached her sister. She dragged a chair along with her and sat right next to the fiery elemental.
"I thought it was someone else," Sunflower confessed.
"No one would infiltrate his room with that bodyguard of his watching his door outside. Even the ancestors have to beg her permission before being able to enter this room; and that includes Ancestor Spector. Remember him? The man who owns this house and every room in it?!"
Rose sighed slightly when she recalled how absurd the situation surrounding Mane was. She had arrived to find out that Mane now had a guard called Crystal who refused to leave the young Supreme in the hands of anyone but Sunflower. For every other person who wanted to see the young Supreme when Sunflower wasn't around they needed Crystal's permission. Even then, she would come in with them! And that included Ancestor Pier – the man who owned the house Mane was sleeping so comfortably in!
"It's not intruders I am worried about," Sunflower confessed. By now every person within Mane's circle knew that Crystal was the one who killed Ancestor Origin. Mane was safe as long as she was around so that was definitely not Sunflower's worry.
"Then what are you worried about?" Rose asked with furrowed brows. However, no sooner had she asked the question than she found the solution she sought.
"The Elemental twins are your worry. No, it's the Princess who you are actually worried about." Rose smiled slightly and said.
Sunflower didn't refute her sister's words, implying that Rose was right.
"Do you see her as a threat?" Rose asked with a sly smile. She displayed a side of her Mane wasn't used to, and honestly, Sunflower wasn't that used to it either.
"We aren't having this conversation," Sunflower snorted and turned her head away.
"Oh we are," Rose moved closer to her sister with a slight chuckle. And just when she was about to bug Sunflower some more, the boy on the bed moved.
"Did you see that?" Rose asked with doubt lacing her voice.
"I did," Sunflower admitted.
"Good," Rose stated. "I think he's waking up," Rose observed seeing that Mane's eyelashes kept fluttering like a butterfly's wings.
Sunflower nodded her head in reply. Suddenly, she became very aware of where her hands were. She swiftly retracted her right hand from Mane's hair and her left from his hand. And soon, all that was left was her nervous heart.
"Relax," Rose comforted Sunflower. "You're the first one here and that's all that matters."
"I'd be outside," Rose stated and left quickly. Sunflower nodded her head and kept her silence. Her eyes however, remained on the figure who was slowly opening his eyes.
Mane's eyes fluttered open quite easily. Now that he was a Noble, his eye grew accustomed to the bright light quickly. And though he had been asleep for so long, it took less than a second to take everything in. And once they were fully accustomed to the light he turned his head to see the face he had seen in his dreams over and over again. A bright smile stretched his lips from one end of his face to the other. As his eyes beheld the beautiful image standing before him with her lips quivering and tears gracing those big, beautiful eyes, Mane couldn't help but call out the name of the woman he loved.
"Sun, I have missed you."
Sunflower sat still, not moving a single muscle. Her teeth were clasped together as tightly as a vice and her shoulders quivered slightly. Mane easily sat up and moved towards her. He pulled her chin up and looked into her eyes.
When he almost fell to the Origin King, he realised a few things and understood how ill-prepared he was to leave this world. And how many regrets he would have if he were to leave prematurely. At that point he promised himself that he would never hold back anymore. He would do only what mattered and that alone. And now was the best time to start.
"I will not have any more regrets," Mane mumbled and pulled Sunflower's head closer to his.
"Sun," he called out.
"Yes?" Sunflower responded nervously.
"We need to talk."
