Chapter 579 - I Am Mane Harbinger: XXV

Crystal's eyes were filled with despair and with every step that the God of Destruction took this despair only deepened. The harsh reality of the bias nature of life hit her like a raging bull and knocked her hopes unconscious. Her comfort from completing her mission her relief knowing that her death will not be in vain; both had been tossed out the window right now. The victory she had yet to relish and her prize who lay lifeless just some distance from here will surely grin gleefully seeing that she was about to become another's prize and her Lord with her. Only a few moments ago she had been the one celebrating her victory. Just some moments ago she had brought fear to the Origin King's heart. Now she had to live the last moments of her life living in the fear wrought by another; another whom she had heard no good thing about.

"How are you here?" Crystal wondered; her eyes filled with caution. The slight tremble in her voice couldn't be hidden. But whether that tremble was born from her weakened state or from fear, only she would know.

She knew the man before her. She had heard of his vile ways and his cruel methods. But what stood out amongst all the harrowing tales told of him was the way he increased his strength. And Crystal knew that her Lord was in danger.

Shiva the Destroyer; a god who grew stronger by consuming the strength of others. Mortals and immortals demons and angels. It mattered little who you were or what you stood for. Everyone was food to Shiva. He respected the strong - only when they were stronger than him. Once there was any bit of weakness he would come for you. That was who he was. In her prime she was near invincible and someone like Shiva would scamper away just by catching a glimpse of her silhouette in the distance. But that was in the past. This was the present. And her present was weakened and riddled with scars from the past - and the present.

"Why does that matter now?" Shiva laughed playfully skillfully evading the question thrown at him. He was under no obligation to answer the questions of the woman before him. Although he did recognize her, he also recognized that she was very weak. If she wasn't he wouldn't have been so pompous around her.

"Don't come any closer"

Crystal extended her palm and called forth the little bit of strength that remained in her feeble arms. Her staff was summoned, dutifully answering the summons of its master for what seemed like the last time. For when it settled in her arms it trembled lightly as though it was bidding her goodbye.

"Or what?" Shiva smirked arrogantly as he stopped in his tracks. His eyes were full of disdain for he regarded Crystal's threats moot.

Crystal took a deep breath before trying to call upon the forces of Chaos. The Chaos shield around her shimmered ever so slightly but did no more. It went out as quickly as it appeared, like a candle buffeted by wind and storm. And no matter what Crystal did, it refused to return. It just wouldn't listen to her. For she was too weak to perform even the most rudimentary of spells or use the most basic of Leases. She wasn't the Chaos Witch anymore neither was she the Chaos Elemental. She was just a woman despairing under the current circumstances.

"Don't you dare abandon me!" Crystal screamed as her eyes grew hazy and her vision grew faint. Her as if in mockery of her, her legs gave way and she fell towards the ground. As for Chaos, it couldn't be bothered with her right now.

Before Crystal's body could hit the ground a strong arm held her steady. But she wasn't happy to feel that arm nor did she want to be touched by it in any way. She struggled with what little energy she had. However she was weaker than a newborn baby right now. Her attempts to escape were more like the attempts of an ant to escape a closed jar; they were futile.

"You feel very weak. You are too weak." Shiva frowned as he assessed Crystal's strength. While it was true that the version of the Chaos Witch standing before him was struggling with injuries after her fight, she was much weaker than she was meant to be.

Since Shiva could swallow the strength of others he could tell how much latent power they had And the current Chaos Witch had very little latent power remaining. She was like an emptied out husk, and would hardly provide him any sustenance.

"Disappointed?" Crystal smirked gleefully seeing Shiva's ugly expression. Although nothing was going right for her she was happy to see something go wrong for her adversary.

"Actually, no?" Shiva revealed a strange smirk as his eyes roamed the shapely body of the Eternal in his arms.

"You may be no good as a power source, but you're still a beautiful woman. Besides this is the first time I get to savor an Eternal," Shiva licked his lips and contained his drool. His eyes were as red as crimson and his body heat elevated.

Crystal immediately began to struggle when she sensed his lust, and her eyes were swiftly clouded with even greater despair.

"Easy now," Shiva 'gently' advised as his hands traveled down Crystal's waist and onto her plumb rear. His eyes lit up with lust as he licked his lips with a wretched smile on his face.

"The Chaos Witch," Shiva whispered, ignoring the feeble resistance of the woman in his arms.

"You were such a lofty existence so many years ago. If not because your strength was tethered to the Supreme's you would be munching on my heard right now."

"But now look at you," Shiva mocked as he aggressively groped Crystal's rear with a strange excitement bubbling inside his heart.

"I get to eat up the lofty Chaos Witch!" Shiva screamed as his hands grabbed on to Crystal's clothes. With a loud rip her attire was torn away and without any care she was tossed onto the ground with her hair in the clutches of the God of Destruction.

"I will disrespect you here - right next to your master!"

Crystal felt pain. She felt the heartache of being weak and the tyranny of falling into the clutches of a god. She hadn't felt this helpless in several centuries. Even when she lost her strength and was tossed into this strange world her pain wasn't as great as it was now. At least at the time she had the luxury of hiding. There was no such luxury today. Her beautiful figure had been exposed to the sky above and her unclad form was about to be savored by the monster who was impatiently mounting her.

Crystal turned her head in despair the - only action she could perform with her feeble strength. Her teary eyes fell upon the figure of the man she was sworn to protect. How peaceful he seemed. Even in the chaos he was still calm. He slept like a weaned baby and his calm got to her.

She was the servant of the Supreme! She was the handmaiden of one meant to rule the entire universe. How could she be afraid? Her mind span rapidly as she came up with reasons why this unfortunate situation could work out for her master.

"Maybe he would wake up when I buy him some extra time. Or maybe help would come." Crystal thought to herself as she turned to face Shiva. Her eyes were no longer teary and though she was scared and incensed, she bravely looked into his eyes.

"You dare look at me like you have some authority?!" Shiva raged seeing calm return to Crystal. And with a wave of his arm he tugged at her hair and tossed her into the air. He infused Edict into his fists and mercilessly smashed his large hand into the falling Crystal.

*Boom*

Without any suspense Crystal was sent flying with blood escaping the new wound on her side as freely as a flowing stream. She tumbled onto the ground several meters away from her Lord. Yet as she faced the sky above, a small smile graced her lips. And Shiva was incensed to see this smile.

"What are you smiling about?" he raged taking large steps towards Crystal. He held on to his belt and impatiently broke his buckle in half, revealing his naked upper body.

"What do you think?" Crystal coughed up some blood as she struggled to stand. She failed the first few times but finally found success with her fifth try.

"It is not my destiny to kill you" Crystal whispered but Shiva heard her and he trembled. He had heard this line before. Indra spoke the same thing. The only difference was that the circumstances then and now were vastly different.

"You have no right to say that" Shiva seethed when he remembered how helpless Indra rendered him back on Zandor. He had to depend on the mercy of another to survive! He was a god! How could he be happy with such a thing?! He would never forget. No he didn't want to forget. With a loud stamp he pounced on Crystal knocking her back onto the ground. Her rashly pulled her legs apart and stared into her eyes. And when he saw that there was still some defiance left and understood that this wasn't enough to break Crystal, her slapped her across her face.

"I will enjoy this. So you better try to enjoy it too!" Shiva grinned madly and thrust his hips forward. At least, that was what he tried to do. For his intentions were different from what actually occurred. A powerful arm held on to his waist and prevented him from going any further. And before he could accurately assess what was happening that hand's companion smashed into his back and he was sent flying.

*Boom*
