Chapter 529 - Oh Death! Where Is Your Sting?: Part VIII

"Return," Abe stated, and the Wyvern that moved with him became a midst that filled his right arm. On his scaled right arm appeared the marking of a Wyvern with its mouth wide open. The drawing light up, and Abe's right hand was engulfed by a great red light much deeper than the scales that concealed his human frame. Abe pulled his arm back with great force like a bowstring. Great power was gathered into his curled up fist as his speed greatly increased. And like a flash of light he disappeared, leaving behind nothing but an afterimage.

"You did this!" Breaker returned to the real world with the anger he had racked up in his mindscape. He may be deranged, but he knew that he didn't enter his mindscape willingly. This was because since his power up he had been fighting himself to prevent his mind from returning to that particular place. But his defenses had been broken by the Wyvern's roar. He understood that the spiritual pressure behind that roar was meant to trap him, and it had done just that for that moment. So naturally he was vastly angry and the one who had fueled this anger was going to be the object of his wrath. His eyes were quick to catch Abe's transformed figure. However, a slight wind blew, and Abe's figure was carried away.

"An afterimage?" Breaker was slightly surprised by this. But before he could scan the place for the real Abe, he heard the voice of the young prince, responding to his earlier exclamation.

"Yes, I did it," Abe admitted to Breaker's accusations. His words were said right next to Breaker's ear. The time spent in Breaker's mindscape may have felt like several minutes to the little assassin, but it was in fact only a second long. But a second was more than enough time for Abe to reach the little assassin's position.

Breaker quickly swiveled in the direction he heard Abe speaking from. He moved quickly, his agility displayed in its entirety. Once his turn was complete all he saw was a large right fist travelling rapidly towards his chest.

Breaker instinctively placed his hammer before his chest. Before he would have regarded this strike with a pinch of salt. He would have disdained using his hammer for such a trivial task. But the power emanating from the young Zandorian Prince was no joke. It wasn't enough to bring an overwhelming sense of death, but it was enough to bring a sense of danger.

*Boom*

Abe's fist crashed into Breaker's hammer with a resounding gong. Although Abe's strike was more than enough to crush any High Level Noble, Breaker wasn't greatly shaken. The little assassin had to take a few steps back to disperse the momentum of the punch, but other than that he was fine. The dark aura around him greedily swallowed Abe's flames, making them redundant. Breaker flashed Abe a provocative glance as if to ask if that was all the young boy had. But when he saw the small smile that tugged at Abe's lips, he was forced to retain his smile.

Abe moved and pushed himself forward once more. Breaker was right before him, so Abe didn't have to go far. All he had to do was take a big step forward and the gap between them would be covered. So that was exactly what he did.

Before it was mentioned that Abe's Splintering Fist was different from Mane and Ray's. And this difference lay in an aftereffect that Abe's Splintering Fist possessed, of which Mane and Ray didn't have access to. For it was a bloodline infused skill.

Abe's eyes flashed with a cunning light as his fist opened up into a claw. His sharp nails gleamed in the light, soared towards Breaker without any intent of keeping the little assassin alive. The medallion on Abe's chest lit up brightly in response to Abe's actions, and a large grin filled the young Prince's face.

"Just in time," Abe chuckled. For he knew that luck was on his side – literally.

Breaker was filled with a sense of dread; a dread he couldn't understand. For Abe's attack didn't seem to possess any tremendous power. Surely it carried much more power than the first blow, but it wasn't beyond what he could handle. Yet the unease in his spirit only grew the closer Abe's claws approached him. Finally, made a decision. He placed his hammer before him. Since he couldn't understand what was making him so uneasy, he might as well tank this next attack. If Breaker was thinking straight, he would have avoided the attack instead of trying to block it. For that was the more prudent thing to do if one didn't understand the power of a skill. But he didn't. And that was mainly because of Abe's Luck Medallion.

"Splintering Fist: Recoil"

Abe exclaimed loudly as his claws crashed into Breaker's hammer. Once it did a great force travelled from Abe's body and penetrated the dark aura around Breaker's body for the first time since the latter's change!

*Crack*

A loud crack filled the ears of the two who warred against each other, bringing happiness to one and anxiety to the other. Whiles Abe was filled with delight, treating the sound like the beautiful singing voice of an angel, Breaker's expression showed that he wasn't pleased with what was happening at all. Before the little assassin could summon any of his inner energy to mount a defense against Abe's fiery energy, he felt his own energy rioting against him. For there was another energy signature that was mixed with his. This energy had carefully hidden within his own energy and had been concealed all this while – until now. Like a poisonous venom it sprang up and sought to swallow Breaker's energy.

"Fire and Earth?" Breaker immediately knew whose energy this was once the elements within the energy were revealed. This was clearly Abe's energy.

With his own energy struggling to contain the Fire and Earth that sprang up, Breaker wasn't able to defend against the fiery storm that threatened to consume him. Blood seeped out of Breaker's mouth as Abe's energy crashed into a few internal structures and caused some harm.

"How?" Breaker wondered. He watched his dark aura consume Abe's fire. So how did it reappear in him? And how was Earth part of this chaos? But all he received from Abe was a modest smile.

The secret behind Breaker's predicament was Splintering Fist. Abe's Splintering Fist was a twofold attack. The first was Wyvern's Fury and the second Recoil. The two were connected yet independent of each other.

Wyvern's Fury deposited a small but potent amount of Abe's power into its victims without revealing itself. Then it slowly corroded the host's energy like a parasite. It only revealed itself when the host displayed a moment of weakness. As for why it was able to stay hidden so easily, it was because of the attribute of Abe's Wyvern. For Abe was a Blood Wyvern. Because of this, his energy took on the characteristics of the host's blood to integrate with the host and remain undiscovered. It was only when it flared up that it revealed its true self.

Recoil was the other portion of Abe's Splintering Fist. Recoil had the ability to penetrate any energy coat as long as that energy coat didn't share the same attributes the User's energy had. It had a success rate of 50%. So Abe as an Earth and Fire User, couldn't use Recoil against an Earth and Fire User. Against an Earth User, Recoil would only work if Abe relied on his flames. And against a Fire User, recoil would only work if Abe used his Earth element. But against a Dual Wielder with both elements like himself, Recoil would be useless. It was unfortunate for Breaker that he wasn't any of these things. Added to the fact that Abe's medallion had increased that probable penetration to an absolute certainty (from 50 to 100 percent), Breaker was really unfortunate.

Wyvern's Fury and Recoil didn't need to be used together. But against much stronger opponents such as Breaker, the best option was to use them together. And the decision proved to be the right one. Now he had Breaker where he wanted him. For the little assassin had retracted most of his energy to drive out Abe's, leaving him temporarily weaker in defense.

Abe quickly threw his leg forward, whipping it so swiftly that it looked like a red meteor was streaking past.

"1st Move"

*Bang*

Abe's leg crushed into Breaker's defenseless midsection without any suspense, and the little assassin was smashed into the distance. Blood poured out of Breaker's mouth once the kick connected, and his fortified bones creaked in dismay. But Abe was only beginning.

With a great leap the young prince found himself right next to the airborne Breaker. Without an ounce of mercy he somersaulted midair and smashed his knees into Breaker's ribs.

"2nd Move"

*Bang*

Breaker's ascent was aided by Abe's blow, and the man known to torture his opponents before killing them was sent further into the clouds above. With a small grunt Breaker coughed up more blood. But Abe didn't give Breaker's body fluids the dignity of being abandoned. His golden eyes lit up as he activated another of his glows.

"Glow: Absorption"

Breaker's blood was absorbed by the Wyvern tattoo on Abe's right arm. Once it was absorbed, the red light around Abe intensified, and his power grew. Though this would only last a moment, several seconds at most, what Abe had in mind was going to take only two.

Following the ascent of Breaker closely, Abe pushed forward with his wings and delivered another powerful kick to Breaker who didn't make any such order. This was very much an unwanted delivery.

"3rd Move"

*Bang*

Breaker was dizzy by now, and the bones around his chest were in great discomfort. But Abe hadn't forgotten Breaker's kindness. He hadn't forgotten that it was this man that had broken his sternum. And the ache that filled his torso was the constant reminder that he wasn't fully healed. It was time to return the favor.

Abe propelled himself upwards with a mighty flap of his wings. Sure they weren't able to help him fly fully, but for such temporary bursts they were more than capable. Soon Abe was right under Breaker. The young prince stretched his arms without any hesitation and clutched onto Breaker's legs with his claws. With great force he plucked Breaker out of the sky and threw him back to the earth.

"Arise" Abe's sharp mind had long calculated the point of Breaker's fall, and for the first time since the fight began he morphed the earth as he saw fit. A small section of the earth was lifted up, tapering at the end to produce an earth spear. And Breaker fell onto this.

*Bang*

*Puchi*

"Cough"

Breaker couldn't hold in the 'waterfall' that escaped his throat. His cloudy eyes could barely see Abe's figure returning to earth. Even with his dark aura, such a fall was damaging and though his bones were unbroken, several muscles and ligaments were torn. As if that wasn't enough, the spear Abe made had penetrated his lower back fully and exited from his abdomen, having destroyed some very important internal organs.

Abe didn't care about what remained and what did not. He approached the battered figure of Breaker with great superiority, and he started spinning rapidly as he got closer to the ground. With a mighty stomp both legs descended upon Breaker's chest without mercy.

"4th Move"

*Boom*

*Crack*

Finally Breaker's sternum gave way, along with a few of his ribs. They had healed during his power up. But Abe had broken what was broken before with great loyalty. And his stomp had pushed Breaker right through the earth spear and onto the ground.

"Man, remind me never to offend Abe," Aegeus who had undone his transformation wiped his sweat off his forehead as he witnessed Abe destroying Breaker.
