Chapter 526 - Oh Death! Where Is Your Sting?: Part V

Abe's leg crashed into the large hammer with great power. A loud sound, not too dissimilar to the rumbling engine of a freight train, rang across the field, and a loud snap accompanied Abe's strike.

*Crack*

Abe's first reaction was to look at the hammer he had smashed into, thinking that he may have introduced a new crack into the High Grade Weapon. He found it a bit unbelievable that his leg would possess such power, but what could it possibly be? However upon giving the hammer a simple glance Abe realised that it was just as strong as it was before the fight started. It couldn't be the hammer he concluded. And then he didn't know why, maybe it was due to his strong instincts, but Abe's eyes travelled to Breaker's foot which was trapped in the hole, and his eyes automatically lit up. For Breaker's foot was twisted unnaturally. Abe's golden eyes flashed brightly as his vision travelled past Breaker's skin to observe the injury that was hidden underneath.

"A compound fracture; torn ligaments; and perforated muscle tissue," Abe's lips curled up upon seeing the full extent Breaker's injury. How pleasant it was to be facing an injured opponent!

When Breaker looked into Abe's glittering pupils, he couldn't help but feel great discomfort. He didn't know where the thought came from, but at that moment all he could think was, "He knows!"

He didn't know why he thought that or how, but he felt that Abe's eyes could see through him and assess his condition.

Abe cared little about what Breaker was feeling now. He grasped his sword and filled it with much of his energy. With great conviction he swung his blade towards Breaker, intent on taking advantage of Breaker's trapped foot for as long as he could. And it was with such an intent that he struck so swiftly.

"Wayward Slash" Abe's sword glowed with a golden hue as he activated his sword technique. This time, he reinforced it with the earth elements!

Breaker's eyes held a great amount of anxiety as Abe's sword approached. He couldn't move his foot, and since it was broken, such a chore was made even harder. And since his opponent was obviously not going to give him a break, he didn't have the luxury of slowly digging himself out. He gritted his teeth as a complicated thought run through his mind.

Why was he called Breaker? His name ought to have something to do with his abilities. After all, Rage's name told of his inclination to slip into an angry mode when things weren't going well for him. So why was Breaker called Breaker?

Before he was called into the service of the Dark Lord, Breaker was a man intrigued by the mysteries that surrounded the anatomy of living things. It didn't matter what species they were, Breaker was keen to split them open and understand the underlying structures that made everything tick so wonderfully. Soon he was so intrigued by what he saw that he was eager to possess some attributes belonging to other races – and even some beasts. He performed countless experiments on himself, for he was as sadistic as he was handsome. And soon he couldn't even be called human anymore. Before he had even known the power of the Earth Realm he had stopped aging as a result of his crazy experiments, and though his body had grown much weaker than the average man, he was able to tap into a great vortex of Edict. He lost something, but he definitely gained greatly in return.

His work impressed the Dark God, and Seth took him under his wings after Breaker offended some people he wasn't supposed to offend and was on the run for his life. Once he accepted the offer of the Dark God, his strength received a great boost and he jumped from the Earth Realm, straight to the Nobility Realm! But that wasn't all. The dark power of the Dark God seemed to have taken a liking to Breaker. And though Breaker couldn't use the elusive element, it morphed some of his body's secrets into a skill that was as dangerous to him as it was to whomever had the misfortune of facing him in such a state. This skill was called…

"Dark Influx"

*Boom*

A powerful shockwave broke out of Breaker and sent Abe whose sword was so close to Breaker's neck that he could already feel it sinking into flesh, was sent flying back. So great was the power Breaker summoned that the entire area of earth around him was depressed, sinking a few inches deeper than it was! Along with its sinking Breaker's foot was set free, and his mobility was restored.

Abe flipped several times and skidded across the surface of the earth with his sword as an anchor for several metres before coming to a stop. His golden eyes had lost the leisure that occupied them before, and his heart was overcome with a great sense of unease.

"Fred, are you seeing this?" Abe asked with his expression much sterner than it had ever been. Even when he had to face the Possessed with Mane all those months ago, he hadn't felt this way.

"Yeah. His energy signature broke a few of my underground sensors." Frederick had a stern look on his face as well. Even he couldn't help but feel threatened by the energy Breaker was giving off.

"Will you be okay?" Frederick asked. He suddenly felt that he had been worried about the wrong group of people.

"I do not know," Abe confessed with his eyes glued on Breaker's figure. Breaker's eyes were no longer filled with the sinister and perverted light Abe and the others had seen when he first arrived. It was now pitch black. There was no iris or pupil or sclera. There was only darkness. His fair complexion had also turned black like the darkness of the night. There was an eerily dark aura escaping the small man's body now. And even with his Wyvern Vision, Abe couldn't see through that dark aura!

"We need to hurry. Abe may be in danger soon." Selina stated as she avoided Rage's reckless charge and sent a powerful kick towards the mindless 'creature's' midsection. With her abilities enhanced, she could match Rage's agility and strength. But Rage proved once again that although he wasn't of a sound mind, his muscles were.

The abnormally shaped man quickly guarded his ribs and caught Selina's foot. His intention was to smash Selina into the ground since he finally had a hold of her. For some reason Selina's flames were dulled when they came into contact with Rage's tough skin, and instead of being vaporized immediately, the flesh of his hands were only slowly melting away. Rage wasn't a fool. He was only holding on to her long enough to smash her into the ground. But before he could execute his plan he was thwarted. For Selina wasn't his only headache. For a powerful aura pressed upon Rage and he instinctively let go of Selina's foot before lifting up his hands in defense.

A powerful rod which was as large as a pillar smashed into Rage from above with the ferocity of a roaring lion.

*Boom*

*Crack*

Rage's arms creaked in protest upon receiving the blow head on. Aegeus had already broken a few ribs in an earlier strike. And now the Zandorian had succeeded in breaking one of Rage's arms. But with his pain meter off, Rage couldn't feel the pain. He still had his arms up, protesting the full descent of the rod. However, now that he had his arms up he was defenseless, and Selina had long been waiting for such a moment. She pushed her energy to the max and filled her fire spear with so much power that the flames became even more chaotic. With a powerful jab she thrust her spear towards Rage's unguarded chest, aiming for his heart!

"A Queen's Might"

*Puchi*

Rage was able move his trunk slightly to avoid the fatal blow, but the spear penetrated his chest, and the flames invaded his body swiftly. Blood poured out of Rage's mouth like a waterfall. As for his chest, the fire cauterized the wound to prevent any blood flow. He may have avoided the blow to his heart, but the fire was heading there anyway.

"Explode," Selina screamed, and the flames she commanded rioted. They became much stronger than they had ever been and flooded Rage like a broken dam. And the pitiful man exploded into several fragments of burnt flesh.

Once Rage was destroyed, Selina sunk to her knees and the fire that engulfed her was gathered into her body swiftly. Exhaustion washed over her and she was hit with a headache so intense that she felt there was a hammer smashing recklessly into her mind. This was the side effect of relying on her Glow. It was powerful, but damaging. In her current state she was of no use to herself, much less Abe. For the next few days, she wouldn't be able to use any of her power either. And the weakness she currently felt would continue for the next 24 hours. Luckily, the headache wasn't one that lasted long. It should be gone after 30 minutes.

"Are you okay?" Aegeus who was almost unrecognizable with fur all over his arms and face came to Selina's side with great concern. He looked very different from his usual self, but the familiar aura of the boy Selina knew was still there. Seeing that Aegeus was still himself, Selina sighed silently in relief. That meant that he could still last for a few more rounds.

"I'd be fine," Selina stated. "Help Abe," she added, before losing consciousness.

"In the end they didn't need my help," Frederick sighed within the bunker. In the end his weapons served no purpose. He deactivated the barrier to allow Aegeus to leave. And though Aegeus hesitated greatly, he did leave Selina lying supine on the ground. For he understood that his brother wanted him to help Abe. If not he wouldn't have brought down the barrier.

"Don't worry. I'd take care of her" Fredrick smiled and said. A small drone appeared before Aegeus to relay Frederick's words.

"She's your girlfriend, so you better do your job right," Aegeus reminded his brother before dashing off.

"You don't have to tell me that little brother," Frederick chuckled.
