"They aren't weak," Breaker slowly stated, and Rage nodded his head in reply.
"Even we may lose our lives here if we fail," Rage admitted, and although Breaker didn't want to agree, the current circumstances showed that Rage was right.
They were High Level Divine Servants so they didn't fear death. The issue was that their master had informed them that this mission was a very important one. And that it was one that they had to finish successfully. But now not only was Breaker injured, Lina was also dead. Granted she was a High Level Servant just like them. But she was one of Seth's favorites. She will certainly live, for her lives hadn't been exhausted yet. But they would be punished for their carelessness in causing her to die. If they had returned to their master first, they may have been pardoned since the Dark God would have assumed that they protected her until their deaths. But Lina went first, so they were in big trouble.
Lina had died only a few weeks earlier. She had fallen to the spear of a god. For Indra killed her when they meet almost a month ago. His strike was so venomous that though Lina lived, her strength had drastically reduced, leaving her as a 2nd Stage Heaven Realmer. When Lina died, Seth was slightly ticked off, but not furious. For it was something he was expecting. He would have been more surprised if Indra had let Lina go, given his record for raining down punishment for misdemeanors. In fact Seth was so prepared that he had materials ready to restore Lina's lost life. These materials were rare, and even for a god of many resources like Seth, it was a huge bill to rack up. Why he chose to send Lina and no one else, Rage and Breaker didn't know. After all, their master could have sent that useless Zandorian within their camp for such a mission. But he didn't. And only Seth knew the reason behind his choice.
Anyway, they had bigger issues to worry about here. "Didn't think I would use this here," Breaker gritted his teeth frustratingly before parting his lips and tossing a small blue pill into his mouth.
"You really are wealthy. Then again, I have always warned you to at last pay some attention to your body. You wouldn't be in this mess if you trained your body a little." Rage saw this moment as one fit enough to remind his friend of the advice he always ignored.
As a peak Noble, Breaker's body was too weak. Even Energy Wielders at the 2nd Stage of the Nobility Realm were stronger than him! For the stubborn Noble refused to pay any attention to training his body just a little. Actually there was a reason behind Breaker's decision, but he kept it hidden from Rage. His skills were all exterior skills, and none focused on using outer energy to strengthen his muscles or bones. Rage had always complained of this, but Breaker never listened. And why would he? He never failed a mission the Dark God issued to him – mainly because the Dark God never handed him more than he could bite – and his superior skills made him a powerful force to be reckoned with.
"This only happened because we underestimated them. I wouldn't be in this mess if I had treated them just as they were – targets." Breaker swallowed the blood that threatened to spill out and argued. He was an assassin, and a very good one at that. If this had been done more discretely, whilst leaving the noisemaking to Rage, things wouldn't have gotten this bad for him. However, if he knew that there was a Scholar King amongst the targets, he wouldn't be this confident. In fact, if Seth himself knew that there was a Scholar King involved, he wouldn't have sent Breaker. For an assassin's worst match was a Scholar. Just like a Scholar's worst match was a Spiritualist and a Spiritualist's worst match was a Body Wielder.
"Are you healed up?" Rage asked. They were only keeping their distance because Breaker wasn't fully fit. As for why Abe and the others were not attacking, Breaker assumed the only reason was that they were cautious of himself and Rage since they were still several levels higher than the kids.
"Yeah, I am all fine now," Breaker replied whilst allowing the blood he kept in his mouth to spill out, in order to deceive Abe and his team. The goal was to make the Silver Wolves assume that Breaker was still severely injured so that they would underestimate him. After all, few knew that the pill Breaker had taken was a highly potent one that could patch wounds – no matter how severe – in under a minute. However, patching didn't heal the wounds per se, but only kept the broken and torn parts together. But it took away the pain and returned full mobility so it was considered a healing pill.
Unfortunately, few also knew that Abe was a Scholar King. And neither Breaker nor Rage were part of the select few. And that meant that both didn't know that Abe heard every word they said and transmitted them to his teammates. They also didn't know that the reason Abe and co. were holding back because they were waiting for something.
"So the small one is an assassin?" Selina asked Abe after he was done briefing them to confirm her understanding of their opponents.
"Yes. The lanky one is a Body Wielder, and may be a Berserker. So Aegeus and Selina, you will take the lanky one. I will take the smallish one." Abe's orders were based on the strengths of the team. Since he was a Scholar, it was for the best that he took on the assassin. As for Selina and Aegeus, they were both Berserkers. The angrier they got, the stronger they became. Using them against the lanky Berserker seemed the right thing to do. For Berserkers were often thwarted by other Berserkers. But there was one more important thing that had to be settled.
"Is it ready?" Abe transmitted his voice to Frederick. For their hidden friend was highly vital to their plan.
"Almost," Frederick replied whilst putting much effort in finishing the vital part of the plan. His eyes were closed as he put everything in place. From the drones he could see the images of Breaker and Rage. He carefully marked a plot of land close to Abe as he prepared that which Abe had asked that he do – a barrier. For Berserkers were too dangerous to leave alone. Even with Selina and Aegeus holding him down, Rage could still interfere with Abe and Breaker's fight. They needed to make sure that all the Berserkers were contained.
"Done," Frederick eyes flashed open soon enough. "The barrier covers an area of 60 feet. The barrier is about 30 feet to your left Abe." Frederick added.
"Thanks Fred," Abe was more than happy to hear this news. A small golden light covered his boot and descended into the ground.
"You see that area to my left?" Abe asked Aegeus and Selina. The two turned to check out what Abe meant and soon saw a small area of land flash dimly in gold.
"Yeah, we see it" both responded at the same time. Breaker and Rage didn't see this quick flash of light because Abe activated Slight right before the light shone. And though for opponents like Breaker and Rage Slight could barely last a couple of seconds, it was enough to hide Abe's sneaky actions.
"I want you to get that Berserker there," Abe ordered.
"Got it," both Selina and Aegeus nodded their heads eagerly like chickens. For they knew that Frederick must have chosen that spot. Neither of them found it strange to be taking orders from a 12 year old because they had gotten used to Abe's leadership in Mane's absence. Besides, even if Mane returned, they would still be taking orders from a 12 year old.
"Let's go," Abe nodded his head before allowing the golden light of the earth elements to flood his frame. A majestic aura engulfed the place as a golden set of armor covered his entire frame. This armor was the combat armor Alexis had given Abe. But it had been modified by Frederick and made even better. For now it was connected to Abe's primary element: earth.
Abe bent his knees slightly and then pushed forward. The earth beneath his feet caved in like a flattened potato as he went flying towards Breaker. Breaker's expression was severe. The assassin gathered up his energy in heaps and pushed his power to its peak. With a loud roar he let himself loose, and a blue shaped avatar that was a few meters in height, created by his own inner energy, surrounded him. He picked up the hammer he had discarded and, without any warning rushed at Abe. Aegeus and Selina swiftly moved into action as well. Once Abe took off, they too took off. Their domineering auras weren't lessened by the greater strength of their opponent. And soon they too were close to Rage.
Abe smiled slightly seeing how proactive Breaker was. There was no way that guy would allow Abe to get to him first. But Abe wasn't finished. His opponent was stronger, so he had to start with his best.
"Glow: Wyvern Transformation"
Abe's eyes quickly took on a deeper shade of brown as a red aura engulfed him. The golden armor he wore quickly turned into a mix of crimson and yellow as several red scales intercalated into the golden armor's exterior. Two wings that were as sharp as a High Grade Sword sprouted from Abe's back and propelled him forward even faster. The dark red blades that lined the edges of the wings sent chills down Breaker's back. And he didn't need someone else to tell him that he shouldn't allow that thing near him.
A long red horn was protruding from Abe's forehead, and several spikes grew along his armored scales and made him look like a majestic porcupine warrior. Abe had gotten much better at controlling his transformation. And that could be seen from the way his hands and feet remained unchanged. His nails didn't become claws, neither did his legs grow into hind feet. For he could control the rate and level of transformation now. His eyes peered into Breaker's body with scrutiny as he revealed yet another of his cards.
