"Argh!" Ares screamed in rage once the announcement of the True Universe Will was complete. His power spiraled out of control and threatened to bring the palace down. Luckily the decision of Zeus several millions of years ago to reinforce the walls of the palace with high grade materials – regardless of the great fortune it cost Olympus – ensured that the palace walls still stood sturdily. However, those who were standing right in front of Ares weren't so lucky.
Darius had his arms before him as he conjured an aura shield to defend against Ares's rioting aura. However, the power of the God of War was so strong that Darius's arura shield was being eroded quickly.
"If only I could use my original power," Darius sighed silently as a stray aura strand breached his aura shield and struck him on the arm.
Deus was much worse off than Darius. Although Darius's power was partially sealed, he could still summon the power of an average Peak High Level Ascender. But Deus was only a Mid-Level Ascender. True Ascender or not, when you were only at such a level, you would find it extremely strenuous to resist the anger of one as powerful as Ares. And this was highlighted by how quickly Deus's aura shield was destroyed. And soon several of Ares's aura strands struck Deus on different parts of his body. His arms and legs felt the full brunt of Ares's anger. And the many cuts and bruises that rapidly formed on Deus's extremities were evidence of this. His fur coat was torn in many areas, for even the skin of the Ascension level Beast that had been slaughtered to create this fur coat wasn't good enough a defense.
Deus's teeth were gritted in anxiety as he struggled to hold on. However, he was just not strong enough.
*Crack*
A large aura whip speedily travelled towards Deus in such a manner that Deus couldn't avoid it even if he wanted to. His eyes flashed in despair as his thoughts travelled back to the threat he had made to Hermes.
"It seems that I wouldn't get to kill you myself, brother." Deus eyes were filled with great unwillingness. Because he was a half god there was no way this should have had the potential to kill him – normally. In fact even Ascenders wouldn't die from an aura based attack – normally. But nothing about Ares was normal. The reason why Loki had approached Ares was exactly because he was an abnormal existence – as were all god of wars.
Usually, a god could only be killed when their godhead was destroyed or sealed. Ascenders didn't have the privilege of possessing godheads, but they were as tenacious as cockroaches and difficult to kill off. Now what about half-gods? What made them special? Half-gods were special because they had a rare trait.
When gods broke through the into the Ascension realm, their godhood became complete. And their Godhead was formed, along with their Godspark. And once this happened, their power became tethered to their Godspark, and their immortality to their Godhead. If either of these was destroyed, that God would find himself in big trouble.
This wasn't so for Half-Gods. Half-Gods were different. Because they were only half-gods, when their Godheads were destroyed, they lost their immortality, but not their lives. Their godhood was destroyed, but they could live as Ascenders. And that was why they were special.
But God of Wars were also a special breed of gods. And they were special in a variety of ways. When a God of War was born, it spelled trouble for any god. This was because once you were struck by the force of a god of war, it mattered little where your Godhead was hidden. No matter where your Godhead was, it would be destroyed! It didn't matter how well hidden it was, or the kind of protection over it. The power of a god of war was able to ignore all this. It was for this reason Loki had chosen to tempt Ares over to his side. As long as Zeus was weakened, Ares should have been able to kill him, whether he knew where his father's Godhead was or not. However, Zeus had survived, and now it was Deus facing this problem. But there was one person here who wasn't going to watch his brother die needlessly. For a powerful arm stretched out and clutched onto the large aura strand travelling towards Deus and crushed it effortlessly.
"Are you alright?" Perseus asked with furrowed brows as he stretched out his other arm to crush another aura strand that was traveling towards the now laboring Darius.
"Thank you brother," Deus had a complicated look on his face as he offered his thanks. He was grateful for Perseus's help, but he couldn't help but feel despair from seeing how large the gulf was between the two of them was. For Perseus had crushed what was mountainous to him with seemingly no effort. They were both sons of the great God of Lightning Zeus. So why were things so different for both of them?
"I do not care how you do it Perseus!" Ares cared little for what he had almost done in his rage. For he cared about none but himself. What mattered to him was the boy who was still alive.
"I want you to find that brat! No matter what it takes! Find him!" Ares raged, his booming voice shaking all of Olympus and those who lived upon this sacred mountain.
"And Heracles?" Perseus didn't like the fact that he had to pursue his own nephew. But it was something he felt he had to do. And honestly, he would rather do that than deal with Heracles since that was the reason he joined Ares in the first place. But he was the only one on Olympus who could hold Heracles back. All those who could had either been imprisoned or had run away. And Artemis wasn't strong enough to handle such a task.
"Forget about Heracles Brother!" Ares angrily thundered, sending a large red aura strand flying towards Perseus. Of course, Perseus dealt with this easily as well.
"He is a threat. Do not slight the power of one strong enough to keep our father Zeus wary." Perseus warned. It will be silly for Ares to disregard Heracles, especially since Heracles was one of those who had never picked a side on Mane's situation. To Heracles, Zeus's decision was his decision. If Zeus said Mane should live, then he Heracles would protect the boy with his life. And surely he had also heard the voice of the True Universe Will. And the moral of the rebellion army must be boiling right now. An empowered Heracles wasn't one to be left alone.
"Fine! I will deal with Heracles myself! Now go!"
Outside of the palace, on the field of red, the figure of Hermes shook greatly when the True Universe Will's announcement was over. It wasn't because he was struggling to handle Ares's rampant aura suppression, nor was it because of his current situation. It was because of the one who as announced. For Hermes had hope. Olympus had hope!
"HAHAHA! *Cough*" Hermes laughed loudly like a mad man. And neither his coughing fits, nor the blood that seeped down his lips concerned him. His head was raised to reveal both eyes that were now filled with great joy and desire. The brightness that filled them was so different from the gloom that had made this place its home only until a few moments ago. With strength that wasn't there before he screamed at the top of his punctured lungs,
"The Supreme lives! Hahaha! He who is the bane of us gods grows stronger every day. Oh he has grown stronger much faster than we expected! Zeus was right! Father, you were right! Ares! The Lightning God's grandson will come for you! Hahaha!"
The skies of Planet Olympus darkened quickly as several dark clouds filled this place. Lightning bolts flashed across the sky, and some found solace on the ground, birthing flames that travelled quickly and rapidly. Darkness elements, fire elements and lightning elements came together in a union that was both unusual and powerful. Yet they weren't the only attendees. Strong winds travelled all over the planet, tearing roofs off houses. Several large trees were also toppled by the powerful winds. But the several raging tornadoes weren't enough. It wasn't long before the earth elements made their appearance as well. Several cracks dominated the earth crust of Planet Olympus as several mountains were shaken. Across the sea several large waves crushed onto shore, with much water being gathered midair and travelling towards the mainland. Tsunamis dominated, and chaos reigned.
Within a large military camp, several strong warriors surrounded the perimeter of their base and summoned their powers to protect the camp. The camp was large, and it covered a great deal of land. But the warriors were many and strong. Many of these warriors were Nobles, with the few remaining being Ascenders.
"Hold your lines!" one of the Ascenders screamed as sweat poured down his temples. Even for Ascenders, resisting the natural forces was a difficult feat. The Nobles were having a much harder time, but they strove on. For they only had to hold on until 'he' appeared. And luckily for them, 'he' appeared swiftly.
"He's here! Heracles is here!" a soldier screamed in excitement with his eyes glued on the slender man making his way to the camp. The man was about 1.75 meters tall, with lean arms and a delicate face. He was so beautiful that one would have assumed he was a woman upon first glance. His unclad chest revealed his fair skin which was littered in some areas with a few tattoos. These tattoos spoke of his many legends. This beautiful looking man was Heracles. When one thought of Heracles and the legends that surrounded him, the image that came to one's mind was that of a large man with muscles that were as great as dragon veins. But this assumption couldn't be further away from the truth.
Heracles covered ground so quickly that his image was like a blur. It was amazing that the one who recognised him was able to with his strength only at the Nobility Realm. But when one considered the enormous amount of power that was leaking out of that small body, one would understand why Heracles identity had been discovered so easily. Heracles's slender frame wasn't the only odd thing about him.
For in Heracles's hand was a huge hammer that was much larger than the delicate god. Yet Heracles waved this hammer with such ease that one would have thought that it was a feather disguised as a hammer. Whenever this hammer was waved, a huge gust of wind was generated. This wind was so strong that even the stray lightning bolts were destroyed when they struck it. Soon Heracles reached the camp, and with his help the men were able to defend their base. The turmoil lasted for several dozens of minutes. And once it was over, each man slumped onto the ground in exhaustion – all except Heracles.
One of the Ascenders lifted himself from the ground and approached Heracles who was looking into the sky with a strange smile etched across his face.
"Was that the power of the Supreme?" the Ascender asked, still reeling from the shock of the thunderous power they had to contend with.
"Not his power per se. But this is as a result of his breakthrough. No doubt this is happening all over the True Universe." Heracles smiled faintly and said. However, he was not entirely accurate. For this situation was ongoing in all the universes, not just this one.
"Has it always been like this?" the Ascender asked. He was not alive when the 6th broke through. For he was relatively young. So he had not a clue about the current situation.
"The 6th Supreme's breakthrough was similar. Though with the 6th only his breakthrough into the Ascension Realm was recorded. Even that was known by only a few. But the others before him paled in comparison. For not even the 1st commanded such strength." Heracles sighed as he spoke. Yet there was a little expectation in his eyes.
"If he fully matures, the True Universe would have the most powerful Supreme amongst them all!" the Ascender's eyes were filled with excitement.
"Yes. I wonder how father must feel now. Though I can imagine how Ares took it! Hehehe."
