The most dangerous opponents on a battlefield weren't mindless beasts or combat freaks. There were actually two groups of people to fear. The second most fearsome bunch a person could come into contact with were those who could think and reason; those who could analyse their opponent's strength and understood their own weaknesses. These people were the second most dangerous opponents one could face. And that was what Mane was dealing with now. As for the first, we'd get to that in a bit. For now we refocus our attentions on the young Supreme.
"Augendae: Spirit Scan" Mane muttered, and proceeded to check out his enemies.
"So we only have to kill him?" the first of the seven was a being as tall as two Celestials put together. He was about 4 to 5 meters in height, and had arms and legs are thick as tree trunks. He was bald, with two horns protruding from both sides of his cheeks. His eyes were devilish grey, and in his neck was a small crystal that glowed faintly. Strapped to his back was a large axe that looked like it could be used to cleave the earth into two halves.

"Don't you think that its overkill that all seven of us were sent after a tiny Heaven Realmer?" a small lady in large clothes was the second to speak.
She was a stark contrast to the giant next to her, for she was so small that the only person she was bigger than was Hildegarde. She spoke with an air of authority and had the gaze of a noble woman. Even the people around her were not beneath her ire. For she stared at them like they were nothing but animals from the wild. The little skin she exposed was white and creamy, and she looked like a beautiful porcelain doll. There was a small white tail protruding out her clothes and a pair of fluffy ears decorated the top of her head. In her hands were a pair of daggers that were just as white as her ears and tail.

"Sure seems that way. Must mean that he offended some serious bigshots. Besides, aren't you a bit too young to be on a battlefield?" the third person had a teasing smile on his face. His eyes were as large as saucers and his nose twice as big. His mouth however, was as thin as a straw, making one wonder how this person ate at all. He wasn't tall, but he was taller than the fox lady. And unlike the first two, he didn't have any weapons.

"She might not look it, but she is older than all of us here" the fourth person in the team spoke.
It was a woman. Unlike the others, she looked like a complete human being, with no alterations whatsoever. And that was because she was a human. She was of average height; about five feet eleven inches tall. Her eyes were like deep pools of wisdom, and her face was filled with such beauty that it was difficult to accept that she wasn't an artificial creation. But indeed she was no doll. Her long black hair flowed down her back like a beautiful river, creeping all the way to her lovely curves. Her curves were not exaggerated but delicate, and her aura was of serenity and intelligence. She wielded a weapon, but it was no sword, axe or hammer. Neither was it a spear or rod.
In her hand was a wooden staff engraved with gold characters that no one here but Mane could recognise. And that was because the characters on her staff were Leases. She was a Spiritualist!

"And how are you able to see such thing, human? Your race is weak is puny. And you are only fit to be slaves!"
The rude, crass voice of the 5th fighter was like a grate that slowly peeled at one's eardrums. It was a large man, almost as large as the man belonging to the Mini Giant Race. And that was because they belonged to the same race, for he was a Mini Giant as well. However, there were a few differences. Although he was almost as tall, and possessed the same horns on his cheeks, his crystal wasn't located on his neck. Rather, his crystal was located on his shoulder. And it was fairly easy to spot since he wore no shirt. His eyes were also different. Unlike with the first Mini Giant, this giant's eyes were red. Though they weren't as deep as the red of Barbarians, they weren't far off. In his hands was a hammer so large that its head was bigger than his torso!

"This is why I detest members of the giant race. You people are nothing but fools." There was a healthy mix of male and female in this group, for the speaker was yet another woman.
This woman had very pale skin. Her skin was so pale one would have thought that she was on her last breath. She wore a long robe that covered her entire frame. She was very skinny, and her eyes looked dead. Yet even in such a state she was still beautiful. For she had facial features akin to that of a goddess of beauty. And her nonchalance was like a sweet perfume, drawing all in. She floated coolly above the ground like a specter of doom. And more fascinating was that even though she was floating, her feet couldn't be made out. It was almost as if she had no legs!
And that was because she was a Wraith! The robe she wore was part of her body, and she did indeed possess no feet for she was more of a spirit than she was a physical body. Her weapon was a large bangle on her left wrist which glowed faintly with a hazy blue light.

"Now let us all calm down. We have a task to complete. Let us deal with the kid before we explode into conflict."
The last, the seventh person, was a man. He had a small smile on his face as he spoke. He was a charming man, with beautiful green eyes and generous locks of hair that fell down his shoulders. His face was as smooth as jade, and his complexion dark like ebony. He was about six feet tall and was fairly slender. There was a black tail that extended from within his trousers and he had a pair of black cat ears that adorned the top of his head. He wore a pair of trousers and a large shirt and wielded a sword that was as thin as a cicada's wing.

"All of them are stronger than the serpent that you just killed!" Hildegarde was very worried. Although she didn't have Spirit Scan like Mane, the auras of the seven alone were like powerful vices that threatened to crush her. In her anxiety she hadn't noticed that not one of the seven, nor even the deceased 8th who was an expert at the things of the spirit had noticed her in this space that wasn't under the authority of her fairy power.
"Get away. As far as you can" Mane's head was lowered, so it was difficult to see his expression. He had his head bowed, so Hildegarde couldn't tell what he was thinking. But she knew one thing for sure. Mane was right. Her presence here was useless. She had no strength to help him whatsoever. And she was only a burden. Cute and lovely she was, but a burden anyway. Gritting her teeth, she turned to look at Mane one more time before flying away. She had never felt so helpless before. In this space where the fairies couldn't sense her, surely she could have helped Mane without fear of any punishment. Yet she was too weak to help.
"Do all of us need to attack one puny human?" one of the giants asked. This giant was the one with the axe.
"I don't think so. One of us can just deal with him." The demure lady belonging to the white fox race stated, and the others nodded their heads in agreement. Yet the human woman – the Spiritualist – was silent. Her eyes flashed with a bright glow as she observed the boy who had his head lowered. There was curiosity within her eyes, and a bit of hesitation and caution. She wasn't foolish enough to believe that someone would dispatch 7 Ascenders to deal with just one boy. Especially when her attempts to scan him were failing. She was a Spirit Queen, yet even she couldn't see through the boy!
"Let me handle this puny human," the giant with the hammer who disdained humans was all too happy to volunteer his services.
"Wait-" the human woman tried to stop him. However, a slender hand stretched out before her and stopped her in her tracks.
"Let him take the lead and provide us with valuable information," the strongest person here; the gentleman from the Slender Cat Race was the one who stopped her. His words sent a chill down her spine, as she came to an understanding concerning the group she was with. She looked around and saw that the others were looking on keenly. And within the depths of their eyes was cautiousness. They were clearly as weary as she was of the boy. The only clueless person was the other giant who was banging his axe onto the ground in excitement.
"You shall be the first to go," Mane mumbled as he lifted his head. His eyes flashed as True Eyes took over and the world came to a standstill. His figure blurred, breaking through the confines of time as Night's Kiss flashed with a sinister glow.
"Absolute Darkness: Evasive Killing"
Night's Kiss effortlessly separated the head of the Mini Giant from its shoulders. Yet frozen in time, it remained as it was.
"Restore" Mane mumbled as he returned to his original position. And the wheels of time began to turn again. His eyes ached greatly, for they had been tasked beyond their current capabilities. And he doubted that he would be able to emulate this great feat again. But it had accomplished its purpose, so that was okay.
"Why did you stop brute?" the Wraith asked seeing that the giant had suddenly stopped moving. No one had perceived the happenings during the stoppage of time. All watched in surprise as the large head of the brute came tumbling down. And soon his entire body fell as well. As blood poured out from his open neck, the eyes of the remaining 6 were squinted in disbelief and fear.
"I am in a hurry, so let's make this quick. And there are two things you should know." Mane lifted his head and allowed them to see his face. His handsome features didn't calm them down in the slightest, for they understood that their misgivings were accurate. The boy was truly unordinary.
"First and foremost, I am no human. I am a godling. I am Mane, Son of the Brute King Ray and the Absolute Queen Alexis, Gods of Olympus and Asgard"
"Secondly, I am made for war!"
Mane's aura exploded as his hair turned red and a black aura subdued his frame. His power was so vast that the confines of space couldn't hold it firm, and a few cracks appeared in the space of the platform where they stood.
The most dangerous opponents on a fighting field weren't mindless beasts or combat freaks. The second most fearsome bunch a person could come into contact with were those who could think and reason; those who could analyse their opponent's strength and understood their own weaknesses. These people were the second most dangerous opponents one could face. And the most dangerous people in the world were those who were intelligent beasts. These were those whose intellect was so vast that they had almost no equals, yet they possessed unparalleled fighting strength and power. And when they were mad, they were at their most dangerous.
"What have I gotten myself into?" the human woman asked herself as her staff glowed with a green glow, activating the Leases upon it as she prepared to defend herself. However, even in all this, she couldn't help but feel a strange familiarity within the boy's aura.
