Necropolis of Heart
Chapter 10

Anna sighed at the thought of the next option for earning money. She went back home to kill some time before going to seek her a job.
"Guess I have some time to kill before going to that hell of a place just to earn a few bucks. It makes me feel like waste. The people over there suck. Not to mention the fact that the amount of money I'll be able to make is also less."
Anna sighed again as she looked up to see the sky getting darker. She looked at her watch to see it read 7:53. She was still not tired after all that walking and hence was kind of surprised.
"I guess I still have not lost my stamina." Anna said to herself. How could she lose her stamina, after all, she wasn't the "Queen" for nothing.
"I think I'll leave for there at 9:30." Anna said to herself.
Having an hour and half to spare, she walked back home.
*1 and 1/2 hours later*
Anna woke up slowly to the sound of her alarm blaring. She looked at the time. It was time to go look for a job. She got up and got ready within 5 minutes. She then took off to look for the job.
She arrived at the location for work. She looked up to see in big letters 'The Leela Night Club'. The Leela Night Club was a place where usually only men came. Mainly for either booze or girls.
She went up to the manager as she knew her from a few years ago.
"Hey! I need a job." Anna said.
"Hey girl! It's been quite some time since I've met you. What happened that you need the job again." Asked the manager.
"Well, long story short, something happened to Ma and now she's in coma. Doctor says she'll remain in coma for around three years, I need to pay of the loan I took from the bank and I'm unable to access my joint account with my mother since I'm not yet 18." Anna replies to the manager.
"Oh well! That's quite a lot for my brain to even process." The manager says.
"It's okay Jess. You don't need to understand. Please just give me the job."
"Why didn't you go to other places for part time job applications?"
"I did but no one's willing to give me a job since I'm underage. So this was my last choice." Anna bit the sides of her mouth as she replied to Jess while saying this. It was just a little something she did while lying. She didn't lie often but a white lie won't hurt, would it?
"Sure you can have the job. I might as well say that you're my saviour since the original worker went on a leave and I couldn't find someone to replace her in the short amount of time. You know how these people are if the work is not done."
"Sure, now I'll go and get to work." Anna says and walks off to an elevated area and a slow smile spreads on Jess' face.
Anna goes around a small stool placed on the elevated stage and picks up a guitar from the corner. She moves a hand over the smooth polished wood of the guitar. She then walks upto to the stool, takes a seat and adjusts the mic in front of her. She breathes in deeply and places her left hand on the frets of the guitar as her right hand does the job of producing the beautiful melodies. As soon as she struck the first chord, the people in the night club all looked at her.
The crowd that came to this night club consisted only of people of either middle or old age. Some even in their late fifties. This crowd demanded slow music and unplugged songs and to find a band or even a person who played that kind of music for a night club was pretty difficult.
With the kind of music Anna played, it was difficult to find a job in a night club but fortunately a job was available here, even though the pay was less. Anna had to work in a night club long back for she and her mother were short of money and after that incident, she hated night clubs. But she was still happy enough that she wouldn't have to take extreme measures to earn money, for that would be her worst time for her...
and the ones who will face her.
