It was dusk when Diego made his way out of the Hovel and back to his home. Although it seemed simple in concept, trying to form the Glyph Seal in his mind proved to be anything but that. In the end, after six hours, he used the [Mimic] skill and casted the spell. Firesand had been so excited that he practically showered Diego with more spell scrolls, allowing him to easily finish his third mission for the day.
Jia and Tue were waiting on his arrival with a fresh meal of roasted goat and steamed vegetables. Since tomorrow was his big day, it seems that someone had went to the trouble of giving him a nice meal. Diego thought they would just serve him the meal and leave, eating in the other room as they normally would, but instead they stayed behind and began massaging his body. A warning sign went off in his head, but he ignored it for now as he took a bite of his food.
::Warning: You have just been infected with Powdered Yongfin Root! Activating 'Seed's' regeneration abilities::
(They poisoned my food?!?)
::Well, while Powered Youngfin Root is considered toxic, if used in the proper amounts, it becomes an aphrodisiac::
Black lines were nearly visible as the realization of what was going on hit him. Diego sighed loudly and brushed their hands aside gently.
"You two retire for the night. I need to adjust myself to my peak condition for tomorrow's challenges, so I do not need any distractions," Diego said, dismissively.
The twins were both surprised by his actions, but in truth, they felt relieved. Their young master had a darker side when he was stressed, so they feared how he might be tonight, but they still knew their duty. They bowed and left the room without another word.
Diego sighed in annoyance, but decided to cheer himself up by checking his gains for the day. (Skill Page!)

(When did I get the [Scarlet-Gold Skin] skill?)
::It was formed during your breakthrough as it is an innate ability of your cultivation manual, so therefore it is unable to be improved without corresponding breakthroughs in your cultivation::
(Okay, how does the cost go up as I level the skills?) Diego asked mentally as he looked at the blue window, hovering in front of his eyes.
::The number of points needed to advance the level multiplied by the original price::
(Hmm… what level should Ishu's two skills be on based off of his memories?)
::Both would be roughly on the fifth level::
(Is training these skills the old fashion way possible?) Diego groaned as that meant he needed spend a hundred of his points just so he could keep up with appearances.
::While you can raise your skill points for a specific skill, you must defeat or kill an opponent. The System will create more opportunities for you to earn Skill Points, I assure you. Your first two missions were given to you for this very reason::
(Fine… Raise [Serpent's Strike] and [Unyielding Thrust] to level five and [Ten Strikes, One Thrust] to level three then invest the remaining points into [Spinning Shield]. Show me my updated page when you are done.)

(This isn't the easiest to understand, you know.) Diego complained as he was unhappy with the outline.
::You could have no help if you keep whining. I made this System to act as a guide, not a crutch. To move forward, you must do so under your own efforts or you won't survive::
(You're right, Katalina, I'm sorry.)
::Do not forget to assign your Mastery Points or your spear technique will be restricted to the 'basic' level::
(Thanks. Invest all of my points into my spear skill and show me the Mastery Page!)
=====================================================
Unassigned Mastery Points: 0
{Spear-craft} - Level 2 (Advanced) - 10/100
- Proficiency with spear and spear techniques
=====================================================
(I need a hundred points to reach the third level?!? What happened to the small increases?!?)
::Spear-craft is naturally more difficult to increase than a single skill, it effects every spear skill you use as well as your general use of the spear::
Diego nodded without thinking much more and set his meal aside since he still remembered the extra 'seasoning'. With his night done, he made his way back to his room and changed out of his robe before he laid on his bed. The last thing he did before falling asleep was blow out the candle on his nightstand and dreamed about his future.
