The next day, Izumi woke up earlier than she would usually. Turning her head to glance at the clock, she saw it was 5 in the morning. The sky had hardly brightened at all. Seeing that she didn't feel sleepy anymore, she got out of bed to wash up and go out for a morning walk. After putting on her sneakers, she started her early jog in the nearby park.
The audition for the female role was later in the afternoon. It would take some time for her turn anyway.
As she jogged down the path, she closed her eyes to feel the warm morning wind gently brush past her face. The area was quite and serene, with just the melodious chirping and humming of the birds entering one's ear with the soothing whistle of the winds and the leaves. The grass would flutter along, gently dancing in the breeze. As if all the problems inflicted by the hectic world were never there. Just the wind, the grass and the clear blue sky...
This was why Izumi loved mornings the most. She loved the silence. The silence that said nothing, but conveyed a thousand words, a thousand answers.
After jogging for some time, she sat down for some rest. Staring at the beautiful scenery, Izumi felt a soothing emotion take over. A melody came to her mind. Unknowingly, she started to sing.
"You've got that smile, that only heaven can make,
I pray to God everyday,
That you keep that smile."
A very sweet melody broke the silence. Her low, mesmerizing voice filled the area, intoxicating those that could hear. The soft emotions conveyed in the tune could tell an entire story.
"Cause you are, the only thing that I got right now!
One day when the sky is falling,
I'll be standing right next to you, right next to you.
And nothing will ever come between us,
Cause I'll be standing right next to you, right next to you~"
Slowly, her voice faded and gave way to the deafening silence again.
After realizing what she was doing, Izumi hurriedly coughed once and got up to leave. Muttering a self-mocking remark, she began to jog back to her apartment
...
After Izuru Midoriya's new album came out early in the year, on particular song of his gained massive popularity. It was 'Super Psycho Love'. Displaying the darkness in his voice, Izuru received a huge burst of popularity over this song. Over the success of this song, Izuru's manager released the news of a new version of the song, but with a female voice along with Izuru's. With the idea itself also receiving quite a lot of attention, his manager officially opened the auditions for a voice compatible with Izuru's own after claiming that none of the celebrities tested fit the requirements.
The news of the auditions spread like wildfire in the city. Hundreds of girls signed up for the position, whether it was out of desire for entering the Entertainment Industry or to get close to their idol, Izuru Midoriya. But apparently, the latter heavily outnumbered the former. After all, Izuru's popularity was something not to be underestimated.
However, Izumi felt something was fishy about all of this.
Firstly, how could it be possible that within the Entertainment Industry, not a single person had a voice compatible to Izuru's?
Secondly, the fact that they had opened auditions for the entire local populace just for a single song, it didn't seem right. How high had they set their standards, for this to happen?
Something greater seemed to be at play, she just didn't know what.
Well, she would find out.
Upon registration, every participant had received a number that represented their turn. Izumi the number 452.
As the online site displayed the number 300, She started to dress up to head out.
After rummaging through her clothes, she wore a long T-shirt with a stylish half jacket. Below, she wore knee-length jeans and long black boots. Clipping up her long dark-black hair loosely, she headed towards the company with her registration form.
Arriving at the main building, Izumi raised her head to look at the huge skyscraper. The building was well constructed, the architecture was admirable. Moving towards the front door avoiding the insanely huge crowd consisting of fans and reporters, she showed her registration form and moved towards the waiting area.
A huge screen was stationed in the center and displayed the current number, which was 353. After she sat down, she plugged in her headphones and closed her eyes, listening to the melody.
One by one, people went in and came out.
By an hour, Izumi's turn came. As the counter displayed the number 452, she got up from her seat and calmly walked into the audition room, completely expressionless.
After entering through the door, what greeted her was a completely white and spacious room. At the provided seats, 3 people were sitting. Seeing her enter, an old looking man spoke to her, "You are Miss Izumi Melissa?"
Izumi nodded to them all as greeting, "Yes, It's nice to meet you.".
"Likewise. Please take a seat to the front." This time, a stern looking guy spoke and gestured Izumi towards the seat provided. After she sat down, the stern man introduced the judges, "I am Eric, assistant manager of Izuru. The one on my right is our director, Mr. Akihiro." He motioned to the old man who first spoke up. "The one on my left is Izuru's official manager, Mr. Rivas." Then, he pointed to the bespectacled man to his right.
After greeting them all, Izumi's eyes lingered at the one introduced as Rivas.
So he was the legendary manager, Rivas Helain. The one rumored to be the reason for Izuru's debut into the Industry being so successful.
Perhaps he noticed her gaze, as he said, "Miss Melissa, As you know, this is the auditions for being the female singer for Izuru's song 'Super Psycho Love'. For selecting the suitable person, we have a few requirements. Firstly, it is, of course your voice. The tuning and the pitch changes will be valued the most. Secondly, It is your compatibility with Izuru's voice itself. Your two voices should be able to blend together in unison and harmony. This is one of the key factors that determine your outcome." He took a sip from his water glass as Izumi listened to him attentively. "Last of all, we would like to inform you of an addition we have made to the audition request. That is, a minor appearance in the new music video that will be shot for this song.
"An appearance in the music video...?" Izumi was surprised. This addition was unexpected.
"Correct." Rivas continued. "For that minor appearance, you don't need acting skills and all. The scenes will be really minimum. However, with that, beauty has become an essential factor. That requirement, I believe, Miss Melissa has already fulfilled" He said with a smile.
Izumi didn't respond to that.
"So, we will measure all of this through a song. Please do us the honor. Also, the theme is the same as the original song, darkness." Eric further explained. "Now then, Miss Melissa. Please begin."
