The burgundy gown showed off Jinhee's best features perfectly and complemented her pale skin. The off shoulder dress displayed her attractive collarbones, and the A-line skirt reached up to Jinhee's feet.
As expected of her family, they did not bother hiring any stylist for Jinhee, and therefore, Jinhee could rely on herself to beautify herself. Nonetheless, Jinhee had some skills in that field for she dolled herself multiple times in her previous life in order to impress Jaehyun.
After Jinhee was satisfied with her look, she stepped out of her room and was about to go to the library to spend some time there since there was still an hour before everyone sets out.
Jinhee got dressed early intentionally for the her family members were unpredictable, and they might set out for early departure. It was better to be safe than sorry.
Unfortunately for her, Jinhee's path was blocked by the dressed up Jinkyung. It seemed that Jinhee's assumption was right, and they were planning for leaving earlier than expected.
A sapphire blue, long gown with an illusion neckline was worn by her, and the sleeve covered her hand by three quarter. The skirt to her gown fitted to her legs halfway before flaring down. Jinkyung's hair was pulled into an elegant hairstyle, and a frown was present on her attractive features.
"You're dressed already?" Jinkyung questioned.
"Since I'm already wearing the gown, I suppose I'm," Jinhee replied sarcastically.
"Don't use that tone with me!" Jinkyung exclaimed, clearly showing her distaste.
"Mom is going to talk with Jaehyun Oppa's mother regarding our engagement; You better not ruin it," Jinkyung voiced out— her eyes displaying a sharp look.
"Sure," Jinhee answered boredly. Jinhee was already aware of how the scenes of today would play out, and therefore, she held no curiosity towards it.
°°°
"The one I'd want to get engaged to is not her," Jaehyun answered— his eyes staring at Jinhee as if indicating something.
Suddenly, Jinhee felt as if she was not in the same world anymore. Everything was similar to how they were in the previous life.
Jinkyung dragged Jinhee and made her stand in front of the banquet table to hear everything. Then, she shyly stood behind her mother whilst Jiyoung discussed on the with Eunhye, and when Eunhye was about confirm it, Jaehyun interrupted them.
However, the answer this time was different.
'Jaehyun-ah¹, please stop staring at me and making me the centre of attention. You don't even know me properly in this life.'
Jinhee wanted to cry, but she lacked in tears. In her previous life, Jaehyun's action would have made Jinhee feel as if she was in cloud nine, but in this life, it would simply attract unnecessary troubles.
Anger flashed through Jinkyung's face for a second before she changed it into something pitiful. Nonetheless, Jinhee knew that she was in for a huge lot of torture.
'Quickly say something more for the old times sake.'
Jinhee stared at Jaehyun pleadingly, hoping he would understand and respond to her internal troubles. Eunhye, Jiyoung, Jinkyung, and few other guests' eyes were placed at Jinhee. Jiyoung's eyes held obvious anger whilst Eunhye's expression was undecipherable.
"Her sister is a better option than her," Jaehyun added.
Jinhee really wanted to cry at this moment.
'Even if I wanted you to say something, this is not what I meant.'
Although Jaehyun didn't specify which sister, his point of sight made everyone sure of who the one was. With so many eyes pointed at her with various expressions, Jinhee wanted to disappear at this moment.
"Jaehyun, do you have someone in your heart?" Eunhye asked carefully.
Jaehyun nodded, and Jinhee's eyes sharpened. Swiftly she moved forward, causing someone to crash upon the banquet table.
The sound attracted many attention, and Jinhee distanced herself from the table whilst portraying surprise and worry on her face. Some of the pastries on the table fell down along with the cutleries and plates.
"Are you alright?" Jinhee questioned— anxiousness visible in her tone.
However, beneath that, a triumphant glint was there in her eyes. The same occurrence happened in her previous life. When Jinhee was standing in front of the banquet table, listening to Jaehyun's response, a female took the opportunity of her lack of attention and pushed Jinhee on the banquet table with her shoulder.
Embarrassment filled Jinhee when she noticed how the crowd stared at her, and it intensified when Jaehyun's eyes pierced through her, showing no expression. She wasn't letting that happen in this life of hers.
Groaning, the female got up from the banquet table and glared at Jinhee angrily, adding on to Jinhee's amusement. It really felt pleasing to stand on the other side.
The crowd gathered around them; Some stared with disgust whilst other held interest on how the scene would play out further.
Pointing her finger accusingly at Jinhee and using a pitiful tone, she spoke, "Why did you push me?"
