Elvire and the rest ate their food quietly and was listening the water dripping outside. It had suddenly started to rain like there was no tomorrow. It seemed like they were hearing, buckets of water being poured out like there was no end. They also listened to the thunder in the distance, rumbling and making the sky sing its song. Suddenly, they also heard knocking coming from the doors. Everyone drew their weapons out just in case that it would be a polite robber's this time as you could ever know.Though no one checked who was outside or welcoming the new arrivals, the door was still pushed open forcefully.Tam, recognized the person, immediately. "Wait, don't shoot or do anything. It was that person who gave me the gem." He said as he lowered his weapon showing that there was no danger."Ja ki me no lo pont ther ole." The person said when Tam got close enough. The person was seemingly panicking while pulling Tam's hands, trying to bring him outside to the pouring rain."Jaana, can you go with Tam this time? I don't know how my artificial joints will work in the rain, as it seems something is wrong now. Here take the crossbow. You also still have the emergency talisman that I have the copy with, right? Break it if you need anything, and I will immediately come there." Levin said as Elvire gave her crossbow to Jaana.Jaana put her hood on and went outside with Tam. The person leading them was impatiently trying to get them to follow. They followed this mysterious person to the forest near the village, and suddenly they saw that there was a group of people that had pointy ears and darker skin color than usual. They looked like dark elves.Tam's friend removed the hood, and now they saw that it was a young female dark elf. She was currently pulling Tam closer to an elder. Jaana placed the crossbow to the spatial pocket but still alert and ready to pull it out at any moment if there was even a tiny hint of danger. The dark elf stopped and bowed down in front of an older dark elf before started to say something with their language. After hearing the female dark elf, the elder nodded and replied, "Ic pro haven't spoken sê reordian of humans lâst while. So ic pro wênung landriht 'land−right duguð ceorllic tunge is swîge ðone as self than hê was samod mîn hýðnes." "Sorry, I cannot understand the old dialect at all," Tam said in confusion, after realizing that the elves seemed to be speaking in the ancient tongue of humans that hasn't been used at least for a hundred years. He has not heard this before, but his family has records regarding dark elf's native language; that was why he was aware of it. The elder asked Tam to come closer by sign language. Tam stepped closer respectfully and stood in front of the elder. After this, the elder touched Tam's hand for a while, with eyes closed. He then woke up after a while, "Better in the language are I now? It's been a while when last I saw humans and have spoken with them." The elder was still struggling with the language but getting better with every sentence that was spoken out. This was even better as understood. "Yes, elder, I can understand you now. Why did you ask me here?" Tam asked curiously while looking around."We have lots of sick and elderly here. The food you provided was our meal in a long time, so we are still asking for your kindness. Can we spent the rest of the night at the church of your humans or the near down house to get shelter for the sick?" The elder asked while looking at Tam sincerely."Jaana, it's your decision. It's your family who are occupying the church now," Tam said, before he stepped back, gesturing for Jaana move in front of him."Human, we can pay. We still have lots of precious gems and items that might be useful to you if that is what matters." The elder said while looking at Jaana now, with hopeful eyes."Even when I don't trust you as you know, dark elves and humans don't have the best history at all, but we don't own the church, we cannot say no. We can divide the church to half, and you will stay at your side that no problems will happen," Jaana replied honestly. Dark elves were dark attributed creatures that were surrounded by death, and most humans do not interact with them. Usually, they were living near graveyards or places with lots of dark elements, so Humans labeled them as filthy and unholy creatures that should be purged out of the world along with other dark creatures.Of course, some countries who knew the truth of dark elves origin were more accepting towards them. Yet still, there have been lots of superstitious and animosities in the past that cannot be fixed anymore. Humans then sometimes kills dark elves, while the dark elves wary the humans and avoid them at all cost."Thank you for this opportunity we promise that nothing will happen." The elder said before bowing down to Jaana, who still didn't like the idea of a bunch of dark elves lingering around her family.'But at least they asked first as they could had stormed inside the church. If that is what they did, it would have been a bitter fight. I should give them a chance.' Jaana thought to herself silently. She remembered how the female dark elf even asked for the spoilt food. If they were desperate enough to try and eat such food instead of stealing, then they couldn't be that dangerous.
