"Mom?" She puts her hand up. "Who is it Livian?" She puts her hand over his mouth. "Mom?"
"Yes, I did. That's just... just a family member."
"Livian, who is on the phone. Put it on speaker."
"Yes, I did. Can we talk about this later, I'm in the car with John and I'd like to talk in private." She hangs up the phone. "Mom, who called me, why did you tell them I'm just a family member?" She shakes her head. "Livian. I'm sick of the secrets. Who was on the phone?"
"It's no one that concerns you, Josh, now can you focus on driving please before you kill us all in an accident?" The car goes silent again. "If you don't finish your food by the time we get to the new house, you're gonna be in a lot of trouble." I look down at the bag of food on the floor. "I can't eat this. It's too much and the doctor said it's best to gain weight in multiple sittings. I might throw all of this up if you force me to eat it, and what do you care about more, me or the car?"
"Fine, eat it when we get home, that way, you don't have to worry about the car. I don't want you messing it up anyway." I slump down in the seat. At least that gives me time to figure out how to throw it all out. The car we finally made it to the border of Canada. He asked his questions and looked at our passports, then we kept driving, making it to the U.S. It smelled different, I don't know what it was, but it was different. It was going to take a while before we got to the new house, let alone West Virginia. My mom still has my phone and there's nothing else to do in the car, so, I decide to go to sleep. Thankfully, the school has deprived me of sleep for a few weeks. I close my eyes and the moment I open them again, we arrive at the new neighborhood. "Crap!" I whisper under my breath as I realize I had no idea what to do with the food in the now greasy bag. "Look at that, we got a great deal on it." We pull up in a driveway to a house that looks a bit... worn out. "Alright, time to introduce you to our new home!" We all get out of the car, I leave the bag hoping my dad would forget about it. My mom puts her arm around the neck. "This is out the house now, we can do whatever we want with it. Sure it's a bit old looking, but I'm sure with some hard work, we can fix it up and make it look brand new." My mom was very optimistic about the house, my father, on the other hand, was looking for anything and everything to complain about. "This place is way too lonely looking. Derick needs some nice young men to play with, get his head out of the gutter. I was looking forward to a nice house after a long drive, but I guess not. Why did we buy this one again, there were so many nice ones and we chose this one." My mom and I roll our eyes. "James, you keep talking about how Derick needs nice young men features, well a nice young man doesn't complain about the things he can fix~" I chuckle as my mom taps her nose. "Mom, he doesn't know what that means." She hums as we walk into the house leaving my dad outside. "We can fix this place up Derick, Don't worry about it. You will diffidently be able to love this house after revision." I nod my head and smile through the pain. "Go pick your room before we leave okay?"
"Where are we going?" She just taps her nose again. "Okay then." Whenever my mom taps her nose, it's sort of a way of be patient. It's a joke she got from when I cut the tip of my nose because I wasn't being patient in line for a ride. My father wasn't with us at the time, but my mother wont tell why. I go up the steps and choose a room. Then, I see something.
