Brandon looked at Melody with a longing in his eyes. He reminisced about the past and how he used to make impulsive decisions like never before just for Melody. The traffic took longer than usual to disperse and Brandon finally reached Melody's apartment area. He stopped the car but didn't have the heart to wake Melody who was sound asleep. He stared at her for a tad bit longer and finally decided to wake her up despite his heart's reluctance to do so.
"Melody? Melody wake up... We have reached ur home. Melody... " Brandon gently shook Melody awake.
"Hmmm... Where am I? Oh I'm so sorry I fell asleep Brandon. Have I been sleeping for long? Why didn't you wake me up after reaching? "
"One question at a time. Yes, we have reached your apartment and you have not been sleeping for too long (he lied). As for why I didn't wake you up earlier... you looked so serene, cute and peaceful in your sleep and I didn't have the heart to wake you up." He replied.
Melody blushed upon hearing the word cute. She stuttered.
"Cu... cute? How am I cute? "
"Hahahaha you are cute and beautiful Melody... don't doubt yourself pls. "
"Well thank you for your compliment, for taking care of me and also for dropping me home... I.. I better get going and some should you. " She replied feeling flustered. She didn't know why but she felt comfortable with Brandon.
" Okay and no worries. We are friends also now so it's normal of me to care for you. Do I only get a thanks? Nothing else?"
"I'm not well so I can't invite you over for a cup. of coffee or for food. Sorry... "
"Does that mean you will invite me over if you are well for a cup of coffee or food? "
"Yes, of course!!" Oh...Oops she covered her mouth as she realised what she had just said.
Brandon smiled in triumph after tricking her to hear the answer he has been expecting from her. "I will take your words into account then Melody. Well, I should get going and remember to eat before taking your medication. Have a speedy recovery. Get ample rest tonight and I hope you are better tomorrow." Brandon got down and opened the car door for Melody and offered his hand for her to get down from the car. Melody hesitated before taking his hand and got down. When he let go of her hand she felt cold again. She didn't realise she was accepting his presence in her life slowly after not accepting anyone else in her life for the past few years. She took one last glimpse and said bye and thank you and sprinted upstairs.
Brandon observed her sprinting figure and smiled to himself. He felt and knew he had gotten one step closer to her today. He promised himself he will try his level best to make her fall for him after this. He left for his home happily.
