Xavier's POV
" Stop it tickles, Xavi please okay okay I'll stay it " I kept my hands firmly on her waist
and whispered hoarsely in her ear
"say it"
She calmed down and came to whisper "You are the most handsome meat, and I love you always "
I woke up sweating
Dammit not again
I look at the watch and it's time for dinner. I went to the bathroom for a shower
I need to relax
I wore a simple white shirt with green pants because there is no one for dinner except my family
As I was coming downstairs I heard the noises
I guess my dad and brother are back
I made my way to the dining room. I saw my mom, brother and dad laughing with a lady
Lady?
Did mom invite another person?
I thought it was only us
Huh
I can't see the lady because her back was facing me. Daniel was sitting beside her. As if on the clue mom saw me
"Oh, Xavier you came at the right time. I was just about to call you. Come sit"
Daniel turned around and came towards me and hugged me
" hey brother, "
"Hey, dan, wassup man"
After that, Daniel got back to his seat and I went to my father and side hugged him
"Hey son, how are you"
" Cool dad just busy with work. How about you? What happened to the deal that you went for?" I asked
" hey no talking about work on the dining table" mom scolded. I raised my hands in surrender
I went to take a seat beside my mother and saw the girl.
I saw the most beautiful eyes which were staring me back
I look at her curiously
I saw that eyes somewhere I can't put my finger on
My dad cleared his throat that pulled my attention back
" umm, Xavier meets Scarlet. She is Ummm....."
But Daniel cut him off
" Is my best friend, yes she is my best friend! " Daniel exclaimed
"Yes, um ba... Scarlet This is Xavier my elder son" dad continued
" Hello, nice to meet you," she said softly. Her voice was soft but she was stiffened
Her voice, it's like I have heard it somewhere
I kept quiet and was just staring her curiously. I cannot take my eyes from her
But why?
A throat was cleared, I was back to reality. I smile at her
" Hi, nice to meet you scarlet. I am Xavier Martin. By the way, I didn't know you had a girl best friend. No offence " I said and turned to Daniel
I took a side glance at her to see her stiffened. Not only her but everyone
"By the way, have we met somewhere because it feels like I have seen you" And that wasn't a lie, because it feels like I know her
She opened her mouth to say but dad cut her off
" Xavier, maybe you have met her at one of our parties. Anyways let's get back to the dinner"
"Exactly brother, focus on this delicious food and not on my friend here" Daniel joked and everyone laughed but not Scarlet. She was awfully quiet.
Suddenly, she stood up and excused herself to the washroom
Mom and dad looked at her worried.
I frowned
" Honey, are you okay? Let me come with you" but she shook her head
"No, Sorry I will just be back. Please continue the dinner" she whispered and rushed to the washroom
The air seems tensed. I look at them all it seems like they are having a secret conversation
Weird
"Am I missing something?"
"No, no why'd you think that? " mom said not looking everywhere but me
Daniel cleared his throat " um I should check on Scar, she isn't back yet"
Mom looks at him with relief. With that, he went to where scarlet went.
Why do I feel like I should check on her not Daniel?
Why do I feel so uneasy
And most importantly why do I feel like I know her
Jesus Christ
But why am I thinking of her?
Xavier stops it!!!
My dad interrupted my thoughts and pulled me into another conversation of business
I decided to let her thoughts aside and focus on what my dad was saying
Scarlet's POV
I rushed to the bathroom and locked the door. Sliding down I broke down.
My breathing stopped when I first looked at him at the table.
That time I realised how much I actually missed him. And right that time he was standing right in front of me and I was so helpless that I couldn't even hug him or kiss him and confess how much I love him
Dammit
I cried and cried until I heard a knock on the door
"Scar, are you okay in there? Please open the door" It was daniel, he pleaded softly
I shook my head but stopped because I forgot that the door was closed
I guess he heard me sobbing more
"Scarlet open the door now" his voice is more serious now
I stood up and look into the mirror, my eyes were red from crying and my make up was ruined.
I washed my face. As I opened the door I was pulled into a hug
I hugged him back
"H-he doesn't remember me. How am I going to live? I thought I'll be fine but I shouldn't have come here." I sobbed in his arms. He held me in his arms without saying anything. When finally I stopped he pulled back but, held my shoulder instead
"Scarlet, I am sorry this all happened to you. None of you deserves this. I am sorry but remember this we are going to make him remember you and that's my promise" he declared
I shook my head in denial and told him about what happened when I first went in front of him
He sighed and said that we will try again and nothing will happen
"Trust me on this. I am not going to leave until he remembers you, I promise. Now come on let's get down. Everyone is waiting for you"
"Let me just wash my face, I am a mess right now," I said quietly
" Yes you are but, you are a beautiful mess" I smack his shoulder lightly
We left the room after he made sure I was fine.
We went downstairs "Sorry, we are a little late. We were busy, hope you guys understand" he winked at them and that got me blushing
"Shut up Dan" I mumbled
Dinner went smoothly after that but, I was still nervous. Throughout the dinner, I would peek at him every now and then and at some time I would find him staring me back and that was enough to make my heart go crazy

After dinner, I helped Kayla with the dishes and chit chat a little bit.
"Honey, why don't you go outside and join the boys. I'll be back soon" When she advised me I politely declined I guess she saw my hesitation
"Sweety, don't worry, just go okay" she practically shoved me
I went to the main room. When Daniel saw me, he rushed to where I was standing and pulled me on the sofa with him and put his hands on my shoulder.
Kayla came with desert which I prepared and served everyone
I was fidgeting.
Will Xavier like it?
Daniel and pop's eyes light up looking at the desert and they turned their heads to me
"Ummm this is delicious mom, I love you!!" Xavier exclaimed
I sighed a relief
Thank God
"Thank you Son but, Scarlet brought it. I think she deserves your thanks" Kayla informed Xavier
I blushed on that
Xavier raise his brow surprisingly at me
" You made it?" he questioned
" yes" I whispered
" Bro Scarlet makes the best food and dessert. You should try her spaghetti it's mouth-watering" he said nudging me
"Thank you scarlet, this is delicious. It's my favourite" he smiles at me
"Thank you, I know," I said shyly not the I know part that, I whispered it to myself
"Remember scar, the night when I baked cookies I made for you because you were pissed off with me," Daniel said
"Excuse me you didn't bake the cookies. Olivia did and you brought it from her cafe to me because you ate all the cookies I made for Xa---"
Shit
I cleared my throat " I made for my boyfriend"
"Who's Olivia?" Pops asked
Dan nervously scratched his back. I smirked at him
"Umm-uh- no-no one dad, no one" dan mumbled nervously
"No, wait I'll tell you pops, Olivia is hibsbsbsbsbhd" I was not able to continue the statement because Dan covered my mouth with his hand
an evil idea formed and I licked his hand "Ewwww, Scar that's disgusting" he made a weird face and I fake smiled at him
My eyes fell on Xavier, he was sitting opposite of me. He looked at me with blank emotion as if he is trying to solve something. But, I didn't miss his clenched fist
"Pops? Who's pops" Xavier questioned
Everyone's laughter died and we froze
Shit, scarlet how can you be so stupid. I mentally facepalmed
Pops cleared his throat " She is talking about me. You see, I have two sons and I always wanted a daughter so when I met Scarlet, I immediately loved her like my daughter so I told her to call me pops" he shrugged casually

Everyone sighed
Daniel's mobile rang he went outside to take but immediately came back informing that he has to leave. Apparently, his friend had an accident and he has to be there for him.

Xavier went outside to take a call
" I guess I should leave, it's late" I informed them. They look sad
"Scarlet, please again okay. Don't you dare leave us, Please honey we miss you " Kayla said as she hugged me
I turned to pops he immediately pulled me in a hug
" I didn't search for you before because we repeated your decision but now that we have found you, we are not letting you go. I will hunt you down if you leave us " He warned me
I mock my hands in surrender "yes sir!" I joked
As if on the cue Xavier enter the house "honey, please drop scarlet home " she requested Xavier
He looks at me frowning "you are leaving?" I nod my head
"Sure, come I'll drop you," he said. I politely decline "Actually, I brought my car "
"Nonsense, Xavier is going to drop you because it's late and don't worry about your car I will the driver to drop your car" pops declared and Kayla nod her head
"Cone on this way" Xavier showed me the way. I said a quick goodbye to them and went with Xavier to his car
The whole car ride was silent. We both were consumed in our own thoughts
He suddenly asked something
"Huh?" I look at him questioningly
"What's the address?" He asked again
"Sure, it's --" I told him the address
" How do you know Daniel?"
Shit
I met him because of you idiot but, that I cannot tell him
" Umm at the cafe, he bumped into me and after that, we met again at the mall. We became friends and then best friend" I said quickly
Half the part is true because I met him at the cafe when I went there with Xavier and after that, we met again at the family dinner but, that I can't tell him
"Hmm" he hummed as be is thinking very hard
A little later he parked his car in front of my house
We slide out of his car and so did he
As I was in front of my door
" goodbye Scarlet, it was really nice meeting you and hope to see you again" he softly said and raised his hand to shake
I gladly shook his hand and gasped because I feel the sparks you know that people talk about in the novel or movies, yeah that exactly I felt after so long
I guess he felt it too because he looks at me wide eyes
"Umm sure thank you for dropping me. Um do you wanna come in for coffee or something" I mumbled and hey I am being polite okay
"Um sorry but it's late maybe next time, goodnight beautiful," he said and turn around to his car
I opened the door and look out of the window to see him starting his car and accelerating and gone.
Dinner idea was not bad after all
