As 1943 movied into 1944, Germany began the preparation of a allied invasion of mainland Europe.
In early 1944 Adolf Hitler ordered General Von Reikman of the German High Command to place spies in London and into the English government. With help from the Queens nephew, who was a Nazi supporter, were able to place 3 spies in Winston Churchills War Cabinet.
On April 29, 1944 the spies had reported back to General Von Reikman that the Allied invasion was scheduled for either June 5tn or June 6th of 1944 for the cost of Normandy.
With this information Hitler ordered Field Marshall Rommall to take command of all German forces in France.
This gave Rommall nearly 2 months to build up a huge military buildup in Normandy without any notice from the Western Allies.
And on June 6th 1944 the invasion began. This was the beginning of the end for the United States and Great Britain.
German forces over whelmed the Western Allies and pushed them out of mainland Europe.
In the United States with such a huge loss of life and a presidential election coming up in the fall, American opinion was that they no longer wanted to fight in a European war.
Also the political opinion from the Western states was that the war should be fought against the Japanese Empire for the attack on Hawaii in 1941.
