Magus: "Logan, thank you for coming on such short notice." Magus greeted Logan as he walked in with the homunculus 02 and Glynda with Dorothy hugging tight onto his chest. "I see you brought your wife and daughter with you." He said, slightly caught off guard.
Logan: "Sorry, Dorothy didn't want to be out of my arms for some reason." Logan apologized as he shifted Dorothy slightly. "She would start to cry if I was out of her sight longer than a minute."
Magus: "That's fine, I was just surprised that's all." Magus chuckled when he saw Dorothy snuggle closer to Logan's chest. "Anyway, I'm glad to finally meet you properly, Glynda. I do hope the transfer wasn't too unpleasant." Magus bowed his head to Glynda.
Glynda: "It was fine, though I will admit, I was expecting something more gracious when it came to teleporting." Glynda answered with a bowed head as well. "Plus, one of the homunculi, 03 I believe, was fussing over what would look properly on me. If there was any delay, I apologize as she was insistent on what would be a proper dress for me."
Magus: "Please excuse her," Magus sighed, "She's always like that when it comes to fashion. Even after her creation, she always tries to find clothing that is best for function and form while being the right color as well."
02: "Well, you always did say to find something we can fall in love with doing." 02 spoke up as he came forward with a tray of tea. "Hers just so happens to be fashion, just be happy that it's not 05 and his obsession with the stars. He'll talk your head off if you let him."
Magus: "True, he'll do his best if you let him." Magus chuckled as he took a cup. "Let's not even get to your obsession with comics. If I remember right, you used magic to enlarge your comic space just recently, didn't you?"
02: "I plead the 5th." 02 said as he passed out the rest of the tea.
.
They all shared a chuckle at that but then got right to business.
.
Magus: "Logan, the reason I called you here is because of what you possess." Magus got right to the point. "After your brief use of Divinity, I had to go through countless notes and research as well as go back over my plan. Suffice to say, you have given us a chance to get things finished soon than we had ever hoped."
02: "With this chance, we can forcibly take control of Remnant's remaining ether." 02 explained as he set down the tray he had. "The original plan had us fighting them to take control via right by conquest, the chance of us dying and failing was high without them being even weaker than before. With them sending their avatars and their defeat, those two are far weaker than what we had planned for."
Glynda: "How much weaker?" Glynda asked since she was already brought up to speed on what magus and the Homunculus were planning.
Magus: "Several centuries at least." Magus answered. "If we hasten a few of our plans, we can easily double that. We might even make them mortal, one of this magic-less era."
Logan: "If they are brought to this era's standards, then most, if not all, of their powers are gone." Logan realized. "Their magic; gone. Their draconic forms; gone. Brought down to what they believed to be less than dirt. Mere playthings for them to throw away when they have outlived their usefulness."
Magus: "Precisely." Magus agreed. "And with your recently acquired Divinity and your triumph over their avatars, we have far more room to move."
.
Logan sighed, understanding that if they did all they could, he and Glynda could raise their daughter without fear of the Brother Gods. If everything worked out right, the end of all Grimm as well. But Logan wasn't stupid enough to think the end of all evil as that was just a part of everyday life. The thought of world peace was just a pipe dream and an unreachable one at that.
.
Shaking his head to clear any unnecessary thoughts, Logan went to ask Magus what was needed. However, the door open up behind them and a dark-haired and lanky, female teen entered inside. Logan could tell at a glance that the teen is a Homunculus like 02 and the rest, but there were noticeable differences. The biggest one was that he could tell that she was meant for fighting. Two swords hung on her, one on her waist and one on her back, along with a handgun. Logan also noticed several hidden knives on her person as well.
.
{[ I demand Pandas pictures! or Bunnies would be fine!]}
.
Logan: "01, I'm guessing." Logan spoke up when everyone turned to the new guest
Magus: "You are correct." Magus said as he looked at 01 "01, I thought your assignment would take longer. What happened?"
01: "Master, they were unable to be of any use so I took matters into my own hands and handled it personally." 01 answered after dropping to a knee. "05 and 04 are currently going over what is needed to process it as we speak. It should be done within the week at the least."
Magus: "Thank you, 01." Magus spoke as he suppressed a sigh. "Go rest, for now, take some downtime until I have need of you."
.
01 thanked Magus and left soon after, not sparing a glance at 02, Logan, Glynda, or Dorothy. Logan could tell that while 01 was made for combat, she acted more like a mindless drone that always looked for the best and fastest way of doing things. And from the way, she acted towards him and his wife and daughter, 01 saw them as nothing. It was as if his eyes were only focused on Magus and Magus alone.
.
Magus: "Excuse 01." Magus sighed as he made sure she was gone. "She's always been like that since her creation."
02: "Yeah, while the rest of us see Master Magus as our father and god, she takes it to an entirely different level. "02 shuttered. "To her, he's the god of everything and anyone that insults him is her enemy."
Magus: "She has her... faults." Magus stated. "But she is loyal and trustworthy. I wouldn't send her out or keep her around for that matter. And out of everyone, she's the most well-versed in combat magic as well. What she had on her was more or less back-up armaments in case something happened."
Glynda: "Well, she certainly has quite the character." Glynda mused as she moved up close to Logan. "Though I get the feeling that she has more than a few 'faults' as you've put it."
02: "You have no idea. Be happy she wasn't on her period." 02 commented, which resulted in him getting hit by Logan and Magus. "Ow! The back of my head!"
Logan/Magus: ""You deserved it.""
.
After 02's comment, the four got back to what Magus had called Logan there for. The defeat and end of the Brother gods. Magus explained to Logan that the original plan was to drain them of their Divinity and bring them down into the mortal plain then kill them and take their position as gods through the right of conquest. Using the Divinity they drained from them, they would use it to enforce the right and make them succeed their position as gods to Magus, making him the new God of Remnant.
.
Logan had doubts that it would work as they intended, which he voiced out when he heard of the old plan. Magus and 02 agreed, saying that it would have been a very difficult thing or even outright impossible without his help. But, after all that Logan has done to the Brother Gods, their plans could be achieved far easier and safer.
.
Magus explained that the planet needed a God to govern it or the Ether would run out far faster than normal. Without one, the planet wouldn't last two-thirds of its life cycle, if that, and would never be able to give birth to life. And without any life, imagination and belief cannot create the god or gods needed to watch over the planet.
.
Logan sighed when he heard how the planet needed a god to govern it. He could honestly say that his old life and planet had a very hands-off approach when it came to its god governing it. He could count the number of atrocities his old world had committed easily on his fingers and toes and there would be still more to count. His only hope is that Magus had a slightly more hands-on approach when or if he became the God of Remnant.
.
Logan: "Couldn't we hand the fate of Remnant off to another, better god?" Logan asked as that thought appeared in his head. "Someone like the Goddess Karma?"
Magus: "While that is possible, we would have to find one who would be willing to take it. And Karma has far too much to handle as it is, so she can't take it under her power." Magus answered. "Plus on the off chance that said God would neglect the planet is high if it's too far away from their homeworld, it could be as bad as not having a god governing Remnant at all." He shook his head. "The chance is far too great of that happening, hence it would be best for someone from Remnant to be the new god. Preferably one with some form or amount of Divinity."
Glynda: "So, either you or my husband?" Glynda asked with a slightly pissed-off look adorned her face.
02: "If Master fails, then it would be up to Logan." 02 interjected. "But even then, Logan could pass the mantle off to someone else. Be it finding a god willing or giving it to someone else."
.
Logan: "But, I'm guessing that there's still quite a bit needed before all this." Logan sighed and spoke, hoping to change the subject to get back on track.
Magus: "Yes, there is." Magus said, seeing what Logan was trying to do.
.
With a wave of his hand, a pedestal rose from the ground, and on it appear a chessboard and several chess pieces. Each piece radiated mana of a specific element. Each King, Queen, and Rook made Logan and Glynda feel a connection of sorts to them. Suddenly, a white Rook shot towards Logan, and a clear Queen shot towards Glynda. Logan reacted quickly enough and caught the rook with one hand as he shifted Dorothy to the other while Glynda caught the queen with both of her hands.
.
Light erupted from the pieces as both of them felt a bit of their mana leave them and enter into the pieces. Soon after the chess pieces fazed out of their hands and flew back to the chessboard, now with new colors. The Rook changed to have a pure white coat that seem to be moving while the Queen had lost all color and became clear yet one could see spirals appear inside of it every so often. Logan opened and closed his hand as he felt his mana recover normally and without any change. Glynda felt the same as Logan did.
.
Magus: "My apologies for that." Magus spoke with a slightly bowed head. "There is only so much I can do without certain things. What I took from the two of you was a small portion of your mana, rather, what the two of you embody greatly. Logan, due to your circumstances, you embody life itself through your semblance." He spoke truthfully. "Glynda, you may not have realized it, but you inherited the Winter Maiden's power by random selection despite Atlas and General Ironwoods' attempt to keep them under their thumbs."He explained to her. "Now, you embody the aspect of air."
Logan: "They were running around like chickens missing their heads when she died unexpectedly." Logan answered when he saw the lost look on his wife's face. " Apparently, she died in her sleep without any of their alarms going off. The one that they had lined up for the next Winter Maiden was shocked at the sudden death."
Glynda: "Who was the one they had lined up for the next Winter Maiden?"
Magus: "Winter Schnee."
Logan: "And I can't imagine why they picked her of all people." Logan spoke, his voice laced thick with sarcasm.
