Chapter 10 - Next Mission

The next day arrived sooner then Logan would have liked. Mainly due to his sisters deciding to jump him while he was asleep. So, Logan had 'not-the-best' start to his day. Sighing, Logan had them leave so that he could get dressed. Azrael had given Logan some hand-me-down shirts now that Logan had somewhat lost his wings.

Logan's day started out like normal, for him at least. Getting up and dressed, then heading into the kitchen for some breakfast. If Sophia is busy, Logan cooks for the twins and himself. Afterwards, Logan begins his chores; which consists of firewood gathering, sewing patches and other miscellaneous things. Once everything was finished, Logan had to help Azrael deal with anything he had hunted, then Logan began his training. And finally, where we are now, Training.

Logan and Azrael stood facing each other a few feet apart, each carrying a wooden stick and round, wood shield. Each have a stance and were ready for the other to attack first. Logan had his shield in front of him with his stick at his side, ready and waiting. Azrael had no form what so ever. He had his shield at his side and his stick resting on his shoulder.

Logan not wanting to lose the first hit rushed Azrael as fast as his legs could go. Reaching in front of Azrael in a second, Logan starts off with a swift shield bash at him followed by quick stab. Azrael just side-stepped out of the way of the shield bash and back stepped the stab, followed by a simple downward slash at Logan. Logan raised his shield at an angle, hoping to deflect the blow. Azrael switched from a slash to a kick mid swing, surprising Logan as it hit him in the chest. Logan took the hit and jumped backward with it, grabbing some distance from his father. As Logan landed, he kept his shield up and watched his father who had an easy going smile on his face.

Azrael: "You know Logan, you can't beat me if your so see-through. Everything you do is easy to see past and counter. Your fast, I'll give you that; but that's it. You need to change your way of fighting."

Logan: "That's rich. You have yet to take me seriously. All you do is just counter and dodge."

Azrael: "How can I? To me, what your doing is childish and easy to play around with. Besides, weren't you the one who asked me to help you train?"

Logan couldn't deny what he said. It's been a few hours since Gihra and Sienna left and Logan began his training once again. However, upon completing his workout, a new mission had appeared.

Logan knew that there would be problems that he would have to handle. Be it with strength of actions or strength of words. Logan just sighed as he knew his father was right.

Logan: "Fine..."

Logan got ready once again, discarding his shield and breaking his stick until it was the length of a large knife. Azrael saw this and wondered why. Logan charged him again and as he came close, Logan lunged at his legs, grabbing one. The force of the tackle caused Azrael to fall forward. Trying to regain his balance, Azrael jumped forward off his one good foot left. Azrael managed to remove himself from Logan's grasp as he rolled away. Azrael then stood in a crouch as he turned to face Logan. Logan moved as he lost his grip from Azrael, arriving as he crouched, Logan swung his leg in a sharp kick at Azrael's head as he turned forcing him to block with his shield. After taking the kick with his shield, Azrael swung his stick at were he thought Logan was. Logan had silently move around the Azrael's back and as he swung, Logan quickly disarmed him and placed his shortened stick and Azrael's at his neck.

Azrael: "Well... I'll admit, I underestimated you. I can see why you favor the knife rather then a sword." Azrael said as Logan let him up. "But, it's better if you learn how to use others as well as the knife. You never know what the future has in store for you. Better to be overly prepared rather then under."

Logan: "I agree, even if I don't like it."

Azrael: "At least you aren't single minded. Now go pick up another training weapon and well start again!"

That's how Logan's next three months pasted. Through chores and training. Though Logan had kept in contact with both Ghira and Sienna with the development of Kuo Kuana. When the people of Kuo Kuana heard that there was a away for Faunus to fight back without violence, needless to say there were cries of joy. The elders couldn't really deny the right of Ghira to help improve the town so they stepped down and let him do what he needed. Sienna had some trouble as some of the 'White Fang' were ageist changing how the group operated, but were quickly silenced when they heard that the group will consist of three different parts. Sea Fangs, White Fangs, and Black Fangs. 'Sea Fangs' which is comprised of ships and encompasses sea trade routes, fishing, and navel defense. 'White Fangs' were in-charge of Public Peace-keeping, Law enforcement, and emergency services. 'Black Fangs', a dark group that is comprised of Faunus that are willing to dirty their hands for the better future of Faunus. Even if they have to kill other Faunus. This group was specially selected by Sienna and were loyal to her and Kuo Kuana. Needless to say, Adam wasn't chosen for the team, but was put into a maximum security prison cell after what he has done came to light.

In the first month, countless trees were felled and a few houses for new farm lands to be made so that they can support the new abundance of crops that can be farmed. Those who had their house tore down were given proper reimbursement and housing until they had a home once again. Several new buildings were being build into special housing, aka apartments. From there, the market got a revised and had a plan to expand it further. A simple wooden barricade is planed to be built at the edge of town to help keep the Grimm out. And a lighthouse is currently being built for the harbor instead of relying on bonfires for navigation at night along with new ships for the 'Sea Fangs'.

In the second month, several new ships were completed. Several schooners, a Brig, and 4 fishing Long-ships were made in record time. Many of the aquatic Faunus pitched in to help and to sail the ships as well as to join the 'Sea Fangs'. The Light houses were completed as well and the opening day that they were lit, many Faunus met together to see it happen. Though it wasn't long before a band of pirates tried to pillage the town. Thanks to the 'Sea Fangs', 'Black Fangs', and Logan, who was bringing his sisters over so that they could play with Blake; even Logan wanted to meet her properly for once. It was over before any damage could be done. Both Ghira and Sienna had learned what had happened and had rushed to the docks, only to find Logan, Sea Fangs, and Dark Fangs sitting there with the pirates tied up awaiting interrogation. The problem passed quickly without any real issue.

The third month had the most problems for Logan though. There were several issues that had popped up while Logan was busy chauffeuring his sisters to and fro. Once there were some Faunus from when the 'White Fang' was still one group, they thought to make an example of how they disagreed with the new status quo using Logan and his sisters. Then it was some 'accidents' that happened when the farms were being built with some 'animals' tearing the crops up. Some Faunus 'Priests' were preaching that the way before was right and what was happening now was wrong and that their ancestors were crying tears of sadness. There was even a large burly Human male that came to talk with Sienna about something. Logan only knew about it after Ghira had told his that Sienna wanted to see him, Logan only saw his back leaving in the distance. Needless to say, all these problems came and went as quickly as they came.

Currently, Logan was in a meeting with Ghira and Sienna about the next few months. Though most of it was basic trouble shooting. Logan was asked to attend as there were a few parts they needed to have clarified.

Ghira: "Thank you, Logan. This is easier with you here. HA HA HA! But these ideas of yours are impressive."

Sienna: "I have to agree. The idea of working towards building up the town is ingenious. Some of the other things in your plans are the same as well. I near even knew that you can us fish-heads as fertilizer. And some of the fruits and vegetables that we're now farming was edible. Without you, this place may have become something else. Something that would divide the town in half most likely."

Logan: "I just had ideas that could work. I never had the power or resources to try and implement them. You two were the ones to do that, I can only clam to have helped plan them. The two of you deserve the praise. I only did the research."

Ghira: "But still, if you didn't give or show us the plans you made we wouldn't be here now. You do deserve praise. Almost all of it I'd say."

Sienna: "I couldn't agree more. I might have used more 'desperate' measures to have Faunus status raised. But with your plan, bloodshed is our least concern and last option that is used if needed. Now if only-"

Ghira: "Sienna, that is something we can't talk about here. Not with Logan. That isn't his problem."

Sienna: "He may be able to help."

Logan: "I'm still here. And what is so important that the Chief Ghira doesn't what to talk about it?"

Both Ghira and Sienna had a discussion with their eyes. Debating weather or not to talk at all. Finally after a few moments, Ghira was convinced by Sienna.

Ghira: "I'm unsure of how to phrase this.... We were, at one point, had a deal with a certain company. They were at one point before the new head took over fine with having Faunus having the same rights as Humans. The previous head was like that Mike man from your village. He was fine with Faunus and how they were different. To him, there was no difference if a person was human or Faunus, just that if they were good people or not. He judged people by how they act and if they were trustworthy, not by race. I met the man on many occasions and had hoped he would have chosen a better successor to his company."

Sienna: "He was one of the few that Faunus could trust. Even now I believe that the one he 'chose' is not the one he wanted. But that is my own opinion. We don't even know if he's alive or dead now after he took over."

Ghira: "The one chosen as his successor had cut any and all contact with 'Kua Kuanna' and denied any and all relations with Faunus saying that 'we are nothing but farm animals that deserve nothing but to do what they are told', needless to say, there is a lot of animosity with him. The new head now has been sending out slavers to capture any and all Faunus. You can guess why."

Sienna: "The worst part is that any evidence ageist him is useless. He ether bribes, threatens, or 'removes' any people that go ageist him. There have been some others form big companies that have supported us, then the current head finds a successor and 'retires' for various reasons. And add in the face he works with the Atlas Military means he's basically untouchable."

Logan: "Let me guess..."

[Mission Start! Mission: Rise, Fall, and Return!]

Logan: "...It was Nicholas Schnee, of the Schnee Dust Company."
