I opened my eye to find Raiya standing right next to me. I was early morning then. The sun had risen, bathing the world with its golden rays. Birds chirped all around us, calling for their mates to get ready to migrate. Brown, gold, and red tree leaves above me rustled noisily as the cold wind of the morning blew them away.
"You look different," Raiya said. Her eyes narrowed to slits, as though she suspected something.
"I've been trying to assimilate my Fragment," I said. "It's not easy to understand time, you know."
She snorted. "You don't say," she said. "I've been trying to understand it for years now."
"Oh right, you were known as the time witch the first time we met," I said.
