It wasn't so bad, dying surrounded by the ones you hate. I knew I couldn't beat Agatha, but I was happy to ruin all her plans. I smiled, as my eye closed, as I drifted out of consciousness, knowing full well Agatha was about to face the demon king's wrath.
I was about to die alone, on top of wet grass and in a dark, windy night. It didn't bother me though. I should have died long ago, alone and surrounded by the ones I hated. At least I ruined Agatha's plans tonight. I listened to my heartbeat getting weaker. It felt as though it skipped beats every now and then.
'That's it, huh?!' Eva's voice reached me.
It was the only voice I could hear then. Agatha was yelling near me. Her voice was muffled. My ears were still ringing.
'What do you want from me?' I asked the empress.
'Why didn't you run?' she asked. 'You had enough time to make an escape.'
