5th May.
This was an important day in the Qin family.
The youngest daughter of the Qin family was getting married.
In the bridal room, Cece's friends helped her with her make up.
At that moment, Leo Qin knocked and walked in. "I want to have a word with my sister."
The friends went out to give them space.
"Brother, do I look beautiful?" Cece happily asked for a compliment as she admired her beautiful face on the mirror before her.
Leo Qin on the other hand, looked solemn. "Cece, are you really going to have your wedding today?"
Cece cringed as she shot him a look of displeasure. "Leo, not again. This is a grand day."
Mrs. Qin walked in just in time to overhear their little conversation. She was evidently unhappy. "Leo, today is your sister's big day! How can you say such inauspicious things?"
Leo Qin sighed at their ignorance. "That woman promised to wreck havoc today."
Cece felt a tinge of pain in her heart. No one could stand someone saying that their wedding day would go wrong. Especially not on the day itself. "I will not tolerate you saying jinxing things on my wedding day. Can't you tell? That woman obviously knew what day 5th May is before saying her nonsense. She meant to scare me and you know what? I'm not changing my wedding date because of her."
Leo shrugged at the angry pair. "As you wish."
...
Indeed, Leo Qin had been worried for nothing.
The wedding started off smoothly.
It was one luxurious wedding that was being streamed all over the country. That was because Cece Qin's husband was the son of Imperium City's mayor. Two wealthy families getting together in marriage, it couldn't get any more lavish.
The proceedings went quite smoothly.
Although Cece had said that she wouldn't care about that woman's threats, she still had a hint of fear in her heart.
That was why the security this time was so tight that even a fly couldn't intrude.
Her heart was in her throat the whole time. Until they said their vows and exchanged rings.
She finally let out a sigh of relief. She had thought that that woman would try to sabotage the wedding. Luckily, the security measures did pay off.
Expectedly, the other members of the Qin family sighed in relief too.
As the couple kissed affectionately, a confetti was sprayed on them from above.
But right at that moment....
Cece caught sight of something and froze.
What in the world was this?
The groom looked shocked too. Was this a prank? This was a wedding, alright? Such pranks were unacceptable.
Cece turned to look at the audience and her face paled.
The guests had started whispering in shock and displeasure.
A confetti had just been spread on all the guests.
There was nothing wrong with this, except the fact that it was a black confetti.
That's right. A black confetti had just been sprayed. The whole hall full of more than a thousand guests, was covered in black particles.
One had to know that the guests invited to this kind of wedding could as well be the nation's top elites and many elites from other nations.
Yet such a thing happened to them at a wedding.
They couldn't hide their displeasure towards the Qin family.
Not to mention, for some of them, this wasn't the first time they were experiencing such unpalatable pranks from the Qin family.
Worst of all, the wedding was being live streamed!
Cece couldn't be any more embarassed. That woman really messed with her in the end.
But no wedding could go exactly as planned, right?
Patriarch Qin was about to speak up and salvage the situation when the door opened.
Patriarch Qin had a bad premonition.
Everyone turned, wondering who it was that would walk into a wedding hall at such a time.
Then came a sight that made all the Qins want to bury themselves twelve feet underground.
There they came, strange women dressed in what looked like bridesmaid dresses.
Each woman had her hand hooked to a man, and one would mistake them for bridesmaids and groomsmen if they were not wearing all black outfits.
Everyone froze. No one was sane enough to stop them or call security. Even the bride and groom.were rooted on the spot.
When the 'entourage' was done with their antics, someone else made her way in and made jaws drop.
The woman was exceptionally beautiful. It was the kind of beauty that would make one want to take a few more looks...
No, that wasn't the point here.
She was wearing a wedding gown!
And carrying a bouquet of flowers!
And both her wedding gown and her roses were black!
Goodness... what kind of gothic taste did this woman have? It was scary.
And why was she here?
Once Shera reached the altar, she let out a blood-chilling laugh as she twirled and threw the bouquet to the guests.
It landed right smack on Leo's lap, much to her satisfaction and everyone else's horror.
"I choose you as my groom." she giggled wickedly.
"What's the meaning of this?" Leo was the first to react.
Shera looked like she was having a blast. "I'm causing trouble, can't you tell?"
She scanned the pale faces of the Qins before taunting. "Aren't you going to call security?"
Patriarch Qin felt something was wrong. This woman must have interfered with security. Or else she wouldn't have got in.
Just who was this woman?
"You! Leave right now or I'll call the police." Madam Qin shrieked.
Shera laughed. "Please do. I need them anyway."
She ignored Madam Qin and scrutinized Cece. "Having fun, are we? You look so beautiful.
What a shame. I want to get married too. I mean, criminals can get married, why can't I?" She glanced at Leo who was dumbfounded. "Groom, come over. Let's not keep the priest waiting."
But one word had attracted attention.
Criminals?
"What do you mean by criminals?" Livian asked, even though he knew this woman was full of nonsense.
Shera grinned at him. "Your sister is a criminal. A murderer. Don't you know?"
She saw someone in the crowd and pointed him out. "Oh! There's a police officer. Agent Ryan, there's a criminal right in your field of view and you are not arresting her?"
