Cameron Hayes' POV
I was sitting on the chair as I was looking at the city lights at night. It was nice and the quietness of the city has subdued after rush hour. This city reminded me of Seattle. I would love to live here after all.
I was sipping on the hot tea that I asked from room service and I loved it. It was nice and subtle for the people that not usually drink tea. I think I'm like one of those posh people.
Pfft, yeah right!
I was smiling as I was content with myself for the achievement that I did today. I was happy before I was settling myself on the chair as I was trying to plan what I will do tomorrow.
"I could go shopping or maybe just sightseeing. I don't know when will I come here again," I said to no one in particular as I was looking at the ceiling before I sighed. I drank all the tea before I was getting up from the chair and I was ready to turn in for the night.
I went to the bathroom and I was brushing my teeth and washed my face before drying it with a towel. I went out of the bathroom and I switched off the lights. I was disrobing myself as I slid under the cover as my naked ass was hitting the soft mattress.
I sighed as I was puffing my pillow for great sleep and I was switching off the lights on the night table before sleep took over me.
In the dream that night, I was staring into the blue orbs of a blonde that I used to order her around and her kissable, pout lips were detested with my wit. I smiled in that dream and for the first time, I did not picture Fauna Florenz.
The next morning, I was being disturbed by my alarm clock. I groaned before I rolled and I was hitting the snooze button. I know, not a good habit but it was supposed to be my weekend off.
"5 more minutes,'' I mumble before I was stuffing my face between the pillow. I sighed before the sleep took over me again. I was dreaming of that blondie again and this time, she was smiling at me when she first gets to know me. She was an intern and after I was being in charge of her whereabouts, I can see that she was delighted.
Until she knows the truth of my bossy attitude.
I groaned as I heard the alarm again before I slowly opened my eyes and the sun was shining in the city. It was not morning anymore, it was almost afternoon. I turned to look at the clock on my phone, I groaned.
It was 11 AM and I did not have any breakfast yet. Well, one can always brunch!
I was getting out of the bed as I was leaning against the headboard before I was stretching. It was a nice sleep before I pushed the duvet away and I went to pick the robe and went to take a quick shower.
I might get to the restaurant in time for some coffee and brunch.
I dressed in my casual black shirt and pants before I put on my sneakers. I took in my appearance before I was spraying some cologne that I know women would go crazy about.
But not the woman that you wanted to attract.
I scoffed in disgust. No, I don't but I don't care! I told myself as I was raking my fingers through my hair as I was trying to make sure that I was happy with my appearance before I departed. I looked around the room but I know the housekeeping will keep it clean for tonight.
I was out in the lobby when I asked the valet to bring my car around before I was looking at the phone. There was an email from the higher up and I opened to read it. I was reading it with all seriousness before I was smiling.
"And so, she took initiative after all," I mumbled as the valet was calling after me before I thanked him and gave some good tip because of my generosity and my news could not get any better.
I was driving from the hotel to the cafeteria that I know where Brad once took us and it was nice. I loved the spicy food and I think I might get some after all. My stomach growled at the thought.
"I know, big guy. Just hold on for some time," I mumbled to myself as I was smiling at myself. I can't wait to play tourists in this city and since it was not that busy for the weekend, I might as well took some break.
"Alright, I'm here," I said as I went out of the parking that I found before I paid for it. For some reason, SF, which stands for San Francisco, was full of paid parking by the hour. Now I know how the city sustained itself.
I smiled as I went inside the restaurant and I was hit by the smell of coffee and tacos. Mexican tacos that were hot sauce all over it and I cannot wait to have it on my plate. I went to the counter as I was looking at the menu before the sweet woman behind the counter was smiling at me.
"Hi, what can I get you?" She asked me as I was looking at the menu.
"Can I have a bucket of chicken wings and a plate of tacos with extra salsa and hot sauce,'' I said as I was smiling at the pretty woman. She was diligent and she was smiling the whole time.
For some people, her sweet innocent face might be an advantage but I don't think she was that innocent. Or maybe she was. She must be in the early 20.
"That will be $29.99 plus tax. You will be eating here, right?" She asked as I nodded absently before I gave her my credit card. She took it as she swiped it and the receipt was out before she asked me to sign it. I took the pen and signed it before I was given a number and receipt.
"We will be ready in 15 minutes," she said as she went to the kitchen, shouting some Spanish words and I took my seat with the closest to the counter. It was quaint for most people and that was why I loved this place.
I was drumming my fingers before I was staring at the phone again as I was reading the email that the director of WWF magazine was sending me. It goes like this:
Dear Mr. Hayes,
We were proud to know that you have submitted for review of your promotion to the director of editors. We were pleased to say that we will consider your submission. However, we found that you need to have at least one Ph.D. and I think that would boost your performance than the other candidate.
I notice that you are majoring in Volcanology for undergraduate. Why don't you continue that major and perhaps it will be helpful for you to be the director of Natural Science at WWF magazine?
Please give it a thought and if you would love to know more, I can give some recommendations for the university that has a great program in that field. Do not hesitate to look at the link that I have attached below.
Best regard,
Director of WWF Magazine
I was smiling as the food has arrived at my table before I gave them my number to know that my order has been completed. I was staring at the food like I haven't been eating for months. Maybe because I have been eating bland food and right now, it was a nice change for something spicy.
"Bon Appetite," I said as I was digging in the food. I moaned silently as I was hungry as fuck and I just got my fill right now. I was happy but I need to give it a go real quick if I wanted to tour Union Square of San Francisco.
After I finished the food, I was cleaning the table before I went out of the restaurant. I left my car at the parking spot before I went to walk on the pavement and I was taking in the scenery. It was nice as I was breathing the air of Foggy city.
"This is nice," I said as I was looking around and I saw someone was walking with someone. I thought I saw someone that was familiar before they disappeared into the narrow aisle. I blinked.
I thought I saw Brandon with a woman. Was that Barbara?
I shrugged before I walked to Union Square before I was looking at the city around me. The sunlight was shining and I was staring at the crowded restaurants and shops. It was nice before I stopped in front of the jewelry store named Vork's Vow.
They have the rarest collection of the engagement rings, wedding bands, necklaces, and bracelets. I don't think I will be staring at them but right now, I loved to put on someone's ring.
The blondie's face showed up.
"Damn," I blinked a few times before I was shaking my head. I think I was insane right now for I was picturing Ella Lattone to be spending the rest of my life with her. I laughed bitterly.
Yeah, right. She hates me.
I shook my head before I was continuing to look around and take in the sightseeing. It was nice and I was sad that tomorrow I will be in Seattle again.
