Chapter 3 - First room!

Most mages at rank two summon a creature to become their bonded familiar. They will normally be weak as heck, but they will connect directly with the soul of the mage and share their attributes. Most mages choose a familiar of the same attributes as themselves, because it will strengthen their own magic overall.

You can only have one bonded familiar. And that can never be changed. I already have one, whether he is still alive or not after my death is another story… I can also get some info on how long it has been since my death. I created a large circle five meters in diameter, many scary runes filling it with a spot in the center. The thing about dungeon cores, is that they are very precise, and that is imperative when it comes to summoning circles, especially with the type of creature that I am going to summon, many wards are set down in case another creature tries to intercept.

I then start to imbue world energy into the circle and it lights up. The type of creature that goes best with soul mages are… devils, with the attributes of law and soul they make the best bonded familiar. After the light dies down in its place is well dressed scholarly young man, the only defining features are two black horns growing out of his forehead.

After it looks around a bit in excitement it gets confused, speaking in the abyssal language it says "My master of heart and soul, where art thou, I sense your presence for our soul bond has never been broken, but it has been over 500 years since you summoned me your humble servant!" this heartwarming speech is rudely cut off by an irate glowing rock in the center of the room.

[Shut it your imp, I am right here, all devils can see souls, you should know it is me in the core] the devil stiffens as it looks at the floating rock in the middle of the room as it exclaims "Master! You've become a rock!" which is then responded with a bright purple light [And you are still as dumb as one! Knock it off, you earlier mentioned it has been 500 years since I died? What has happened to you during this time, I sense you have increased a rank…]

"Yes my master of heart and soul! I have become a High Devil! My contracts can now bound anyone below celestial rank!" [Cut it with the heart and soul part, Stick with just Master or I put a soul fire seed in your soul…] The Devil seriously considers this prospect.. Before begrudgingly complying. This devil is a rarity among the sadistic and evil devils… it is a full blown masochist!

Even if Odracir is only a rank two dungeon core right now, the Master/Servant relationship will never be broken. [Demiurge… I am now a dungeon, and for many reasons, mainly you, I cannot function as a normal dungeon core, I do not have a Dungeon fairy to guide me on how to be a dungeon because they are a bonded familiar, you will be taking that place… Your first order of business, is to go out and scout the area, as capture some birds and rats so I can make soul puppets.]

"Yes Master of m… Yes Master, but I have to inform you that because you are only rank two, I am early rank three, so if there is anyone strong outside, I will most likely be killed and unsummoned." Summoned creatures are bound by the caster and the rules of the world, If Odracir had not personally raised Demiurge from an Imp baby into the high level Heavenly rank character he is today, there is no way a rank two can control a heavenly rank creature.

[That is fine Demiurge, I do not suspect there will be many high ranked creatures around, or else they would have come running to the burst of pure world energy emitted by the dungeon when it breached the surface. If there is, they are far away.] The devil nods and then wings spring out from its back as he launches into the air, and it is currently night, so he is not easily spotted. I go back to preparing more rooms for the dungeon.

*Perspective Change*

Demiurge spreads his large bat-like wings feeling the air of Multum he has not felt in over 500 years, unbeknownst to his beloved master, over the years Demiurge has tried to exact revenge on the people behind his Master's death, but it was hard because a Celestial Empire was involved, but now, His Master is back! And has a superior body at that!

Imagining his esteemed master as a Celestial Dungeon destroying the lives of countless races within his depths, sends a shiver through his body, the only thing that is important right now though is surveying the area, he has captured a few rats and a flock of crows and tossed them into his space ring, which is of very high quality.

He has also grabbed a few types of plants and animals that may be of use to his master, the only thing disturbing him though is that there is no magic creatures scarier than a rank one horned rabbit! This place is weird. But his hope is reignited as he sees a village! It is small! It seems to be a mining village, Demiurge looks carefully, He cannot sense any mages!

The highest rank is an early rank three warrior human! No wonder nothing detected the dungeon surfacing. They are all plebs! Demiurge steals a bull and some copper coins and a silver bracelet, he managed to find a dull gold necklace in the house of the rank three warrior then flies back to the dungeon to give its report.

*Perspective change*

Odracir has been hollowing out a large room to make as his dungeon entrance, he plans to have some low level creatures be the aggressors in the first floor of the dungeon. I removed the embarrassing worm pit, and kept the roller bridge. I did not notice at first, but my dungeon influence lets out a subtle light, low enough for a normal human to barely see, If I do not specifically us enchantments to negate it.

But, in the room I put artificial lighting enchantments in the ceiling, it is 250 meters diameter cylindrical room. I am now just waiting for Demiurge to return, hopefully he can find some wolves or bears. As these thoughts spin in my mind Demiurge returns, "My Master! I have found rats and crows! But there is no strong beast anywhere near that I could find, I managed to find a village about 5 kilometers away, they do not have any mages, only the highest being a rank three warrior. I did manage to find a horned rabbit though!"

I mentally sigh to myself, but at least there is horned rabbits, many dungeons have these, and I have seen them go up to rank three… but their combat power is abysmal… [Ok then, give me the plants and kill the animals.] Demiurge happily obliges and I feel a burst of world energy from the things that die in my dungeon.

Adventurers and Dungeon monsters share a relationship, when adventurers slay dungeon monsters, they recieve world energy from the slain monsters, and it is determined naturally by how much effort is put in by each member of a group, and when adventurers or creatures die, the dungeon absorbs their energy. Give and take, a dungeon can absorb whatever items the adventurers have as well. I feel ever closer to rank three, Among the plants is grass, an oak tree, and apple tree, a Drimium Herb, used in mana potions, and a Umer Herb, used in health potions, and some wild carrot seeds.

I cover the ground in about five feet of nutrient and world energy filled soil, planting the grass and watching it grows quickly to about 3 feet, before it stops in height, plants and creatures created by a dungeon can easily be restricted, but are hard to enhance. I plant quite a few oak trees and fill them with world energy to make them grow better and stronger, becoming rank one mana oak easily, and same with the apple trees, world energy enhanced fruit is very beneficial for mages and warriors, easily luring them in.

As for the horned rabbits… the highest I can forcibly raise them without spilling rabbit matter everywhere is peak rank one, the easiest way to increase their rank after this is… nutritious wild carrots. As they eat the carrots, they will accumulate more world energy and break through, this breed of horned rabbit uses aura, making them have sturdy bodies. Their horns, no better than nubs.

As the centerpiece of this forest, a round pond with water learned from the humidity in the air, at the bottom of the pond is a fire enchantment heating the water to a boiling steam, quickly filling the forest with steam and fog, not enough to hurt a warrior or mage, but enough to make them uncomfortable.

[Demiurge, write a few soul contracts for water elementals, I need three to go in the pond] Creatures from higher planes do not die, but are merely unsummoned, I can summon safely rank one water elementals, according to the knowledge I was given, when I make contracts with beings from higher planes, their "Respawn point" is changed from that plane, to my dungeon. A summoning circle is drawn and a portal opens and three blobs of water come out, water slimes, the lowest form of water elemental you can get, rank one with decent water manipulation.

Demiurge through three illusionary papers into the slimes and they stiffen, then relax and plop into the water. The benefit they get from a dungeon contract is they get to partially absorb world energy from beings they kill, which is used to fuel their promotion. The herbs, carrots, and apples, are enough of a reward for the challenge rating of this room, no need for pointy sticks. [Demiurge, Go and manipulate one of those villagers to "Accidentally" discover my dungeon.]
