The wind blew crisp cold air and it slowly started raining.
["Wait..."] She heard Kimiko's breathed out. The music in the background started to fade. She could hear the girl on the other side of the line excusing herself away against the clubbers.
'Where is she going? Oh my gosh don't tell she was going to do it?!'
She can only hear Kimiko's breaths and footsteps.
Hexie was really worried now that she started pacing back and forth, her A-line floral dress fluttered around her. Then, a moment later, she could hear the same pattering rain in the other side of the phone.
"Oh gosh Kimiko! Stay where you are! Where's Lihua and Mayumi?" Hexie's voice quavered.
She suddenly regretted coming here instead of working at the club. She was comfortably lounging here while her friend was suffering from heartbreak--
["Huh? Oh they're behind me. Wanna talk to them? Are you okay over there? Is the 'Dragon' giving you a hard time? Gosh. Why are men so despicable!"] Kimiko started crying again. She heard Mayumi and Lihua agreeing to her, especially Lihua.
"Eh?!" Hexie was dumbfounded. So she wasn't trying to jump off a building?
"HAHAHA! No, sorry. I got it all wrong. I'm just probably hungry. Anyways, don't worry about me. Say, what's the reason behind your sudden decision to leave the country again?"
Hexie sighed in relief. Her efforts didn't go in vain. The Minato Kimiko now is strong because she had people around her who supports her even during her darkest times.
Hexie can now sit comfortably and enjoy the natural cold air. Hexie dangled her long legs like a kid at the edge of the wooden floor. Hopefully this rain won't be long or it'll cause the low lying areas in the city to flood. One of the reasons why she hate it when it rains.
["See?! You should have just stayed with us! Oh right! I'm not transferring schools, silly! I'm just going to be an exchange student for two semesters. I need it as a prerequisite in my major."]
It was rare that Kimiko was seriously talking about her education. The Kimiko in the book and drama is going to be a very different from character now on. There's no turning back. The plot is going to change, and Hexie should be more alert of the changes from now on.
'I'm sorry Author-nim for changing your plot but I'm just trying to save my friends from their death routes!'
"Woah! That's nice. Study now, find love later! Haha!" Hexie joked.
"Just kidding. I'm really happy for you!"
["The glo-up she deserves!"] Lihua agreed in the background.
"When are you leaving?"
["By the end of this week. When the class resumes, I'm going to pass all the required documents."]
"Woah! So you've been processing this before all this?" Hexie was shocked. That was not in the novel nor drama.
["Yeah~ Sorry for not telling you, girls. I was so selfish..."]
The three girls disagreed and coaxed Kimiko.
["Hahaha! Today I realized a lot of things. It was thanks to my supportive friends."] Kimiko started.
"Oh yeah? And what are those realizations?"
["I have realized that I was really a love sick fool. I thought I was chasing my dream. Turns out I was chasing a nightmare. His words really hurted me."] Kimiko's voice started shaking. Hexie could imagine Kimiko poiting at her heart.
[This is from Yumi-chan's words. I've been loving Shiro so much that I didn't spare love for myself."]
"Woah. That' deep. Mayumi is really good with words haha!" Hexie smiled.
["But of course!"] Mayumi chirped in the background.
["I know right! And it made me decide that starting today, I'm going to focus on me. I'm going to love myself. I know it will be difficult because I have been chasing him for years."]
["Awwe Miko-chan! Should I ask Dongfei-er to punch her older brother tomorrow?"] Hexie heard a tipsy Lihua. The girls just laughed.
["Oh by the way, we're planning to have a sleep over at my house before I leave--Ugh. I think I drank too much. Excuse me, Hexie-chan-- Guys. Li-chan, Yumi-chan I think I'm going to puke!"] There was commotion on the other side of the phone call.
["Wait! Don't throw up yet, Kimiko-chan! We're near the bathroom-- Miko-chan! No! EW!"] Lihua and Mayumi's panicked voices were heard in the background.
["Gotta go. We have an... icky situation here. Bye! Have fun over there!"] The line went dead.
Hexie couldn't help but laugh at her friends. They weren't used to having Kimiko drunk because she usually refuse to drink alcohol due to her low tolerance to it.
"Aren't you cold?"
Hexie unexpectedly heard a deep voice behind her causing her to almost drop her phone.
"WHAT THE-- B-Boss--Hubby! Don't sneak up on me like that!" She held her phone to her chest. How many times would her phone jump from her hand?!
Choi Kazuki casually draped a cardigan around her shoulders and sat next to her. An awkward silence engulfed them.
'WTF?! WHY IS HE HERE?!' Hexie inwardly panicked.
