While the five waited for the corrupt officer to arrive, they continued questioning the kidnappers to get as much information out of them as possible.
"Do you know who ordered the kill?"
"What exactly were you asked to do?"
"Was this the first time you worked with this man?"
Halia asked one question after another as she removed the bullet from the injured kidnapper's foot and began to stitch him up.
"Ahhh! Can't you be more gentle?" the man cried in pain. His lips were pale and his voice was weak from the wound he received.
"I'll be gentle if you answer me properly," Halia replied.
The man sighed and finally surrendered; he could no longer endure the pain. "I don't know who ordered the kill, but I do know that they wanted to avoid suspicion by making your death appear like an accident. We were asked to call your father and kill you 'accidentally' through a fake struggle."
