Chapter 15 - Chapter 15 Suffer The Wrath of Many

"Hey, turn up the tv will you? Yingxue's on!" a girl within a group of young teenage girls hollered to the waiter working by the counter.

"Yingxue?" the waiter repeated confusedly.

"Duh! Yingxue! Do you live under a rock??" the girl sneered with her friends. "Turn it up!"

"Ah.. Okay.." he clumsily grabbed the remote, nearly dropping it a few times. It was obviously a gadget he was unaccustomed to. He sighed in relief when he found the volume button and proceeded to press it intently, eyes honed into pressing the right button. However, the moment he heard her voice flowing into his ears, he jerked as if struck by lighting. The undoubtedly young man instantly turned to look at the screen above him to see the unfamiliar face the voice belonged to.

"Ying..xue.." he mumbled, tears welling up in his ocean green eyes..

.....

"You doing okay up there!?" Rouhe roared in the direction way up above him.

"Never been better!" Yingxue yelled back to the man far down below. "Why are we yelling!"

"You forgot to turn your earpiece and mic on!" the tech guy laughed.

"Oh.." she chuckled sheepishly and quickly finished her preparations.

It was a Sunday, the next day right after the night she made headlines. As usual, her Sundays were always busy but she enjoyed it all the same. She got to spend more time with her friends and more time in the air.

"..Hellooooo.. You hear me now?" Rouhe whispered softly into Yingxue's earpiece.

She giggled at her friend's shenanigans and whispered back. "Yes, Rouhe. I'm all set now."

"GREAT!"

"ACK!!" Yingxue jumped in surprise. "Rouhe!!!" she yelled upsetly.

"Ah.." he grinned and rubbed the back of his head apologetically. "Sorry bout that.."

The distressed girl chuckled and let it go. Now that preparations were all set, it was time to fly. She beamed happily.

Far off on the other side of the large practice hallroom was a green light indicating it was okay to jump. Placing her full trust in her technical crew, she took a full three metre steps back and crouched down onto the ground.

"Huuuuuh.." she took in a deep breath.

After feeling the energy build up inside her, she burst into a sprint.

Every staff member down below stopped what they were doing to watch the angel soar above them. Even in her sweatpants and t-shirt she still seemed to look mesmerizing. In fact, at this moment it wasn't her beauty that they couldn't take their eyes off of.

Being the nimble person she was, Yingxue somersaulted in the air, gracefully swinging between the ribbons hanging from above. She would slide down from time to time on a ribbon before being brought back up by the mechanics later. There was no routine that she was following. Instead, she was making things up as she went, feeling through the motions while being aware of the available paths before her. The people working the mechanics in the background were also doing their best to cope with her movements. There was a subtle trust and rapport between the star and her staff members.

It wasn't a singing rehearsal at all. She was just having fun.

Her spellbinding animated laughter rang throughout the large hall, clearly exhibiting the young star's immense joy within the air. It ultimately brought a sense of delight and satisfaction to the people that came to work for her.

After hearing the girl's pure laughter, the people below continued their previous efforts in making the venue and performances even better.

"She really is something special," Noah sighed and shook her head. "Our jobs as heads become less serviceable. We can't give any orders if everyone does everything of their own volition."

Rouhe chuckled beside her. "That's why we as her caretakers need to support her, just like everyone else does. In fact we need to work harder."

"Heh, wish you'd say something like that to me as well," a familiar voice came up from behind the two.

"Meimei!" they turned to the girl that snuck up from behind them. She was wearing her usual golden 'Security Acting Head' shirt, similar to theirs. She had a playful expression on as her hands were placed on her hips

"Of course I'll work harder for you as well, my beloved Meimei!" Rouhe flattered closely.

The two girls laughed at him, all of them feeling the same sense of freedom as the current Yingxue above them.

.....

'Worked up some sweat! But I say no pain no gain! I'll definitely make my performances worth it! ✌('ω')✌ ' - @YingxueBunny

Yingxue posted a picture of her from below crouching down. You could see the many colorful ribbons suspended above her, a clear indication of her finished practice.

It was only the afternoon. She had just sang her heart out at a concert the night before and was having another concert tonight for her tour. Yet here she was, practicing from so early in the morning, and done by the time everyone else has just woken up. It was a Sunday afternoon. Many would rather spend the morning staying in bed...

She was working so hard, everyone ached. What did they do to deserve her. The North especially was super proud. They identified with Yingxue extremely, especially the youths. Everything she did, they had to do too. Now that they could see her hard work, they felt like they couldn't slack off easily either.

Likewise, the South was slowly beginning to embrace the North snow goddess as well. They identified more with heat and the sun, most of the population being quite tan in comparison to their more pale looking brethren, but some people you just couldn't deny.

It made them wonder, where did their famous Li Tian disappear to? It wasn't a secret that he was in the North. Everyone knew he had a few projects up there. In fact there were even some rumors that he and Yingxue were going to do a collaboration together. However, the two artists' twitter banter was public knowledge by now.

Although it wasn't as bad on the surface, many speculated that they did not get along from the get go for Li Tian to attack her so suddenly.

Was it even possible for a collab at this point?

Most of Li Tian's diehard fans were in the South, and despite having Northerner fans as well, they were definitely Yingxue's hardcore fans first and foremost. Pyros and Snowflakes even as elements conflicted with each other, not to mention the fans that identified as them. It was only a small percentage that could identify as both, however even then, they would slightly deviate more to one or the other.

If the artists didn't get along, it was indubitable that their corresponding fanbases didn't either. The problem was that Yingxue was currently on top at the moment, transcending the limits of how far an artist would go to perform for her supporters. Even if you liked someone else more, you couldn't deny the passion and talent she exuded every time you watched her perform.

Yes, her voice was definitely beautiful, otherworldly even, but a voice was just nice to listen to. People had their own music preferences. Despite that, the person singing herself was too charismatic to dislike completely. Her happiness would make you happy, likewise her sadness would make the world cry.

Yingxue hadn't yet showed any form of sadness. But it was a given, a silent pact even, that the person to make her cry would be the one to suffer the wrath of many.
