Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 Not A Normal Girl

Yingfei and Aiyan reached the studio 5 minutes late. They could see tall man with a full, well trimmed beard in a black suite waiting for them impatiently by the door as they got closer. Just as Yingfei put her foot out of the car, he attacked them.

"Where have you been?! I've been waiting for you forever already. We're meeting someone very important tonight!" he barked at them.

"It's only been a few minutes, Qilong. Relax," Aiyan complained as they walked into the building from the secret backdoor entrance.

"We're sorry. We took a little detour and forgot the time," Yingfei beamed sheepishly. She looked refreshed and blissful, different then every other time she left school.

Seeing Yingfei happy in her current character calmed down Qilong's heart. "Well, as long as you're okay I can look past it this time."

"About that.." the polite girl looked at her feet.

Qilong froze. "What. Happened."

Yingfei pushed her left hand out and shook it gently. "I fell."

"She 'fell'," Aiyan made quotation marks with her fingers behind Yingfei.

Anger rose inside Qilong as he saw the slight swelling on Yingfei's wrist. "You fell ey.." He struggled to control his anger. "You better graduate high school quickly to prevent anymore 'falling'.. Or someone else at that school will be falling. Harder." He crackled his knuckles.

Yingfei's face fell at the thought. "I.. I understand."

"We'll call up Dr. Rey and have it checked inside," Aiyan pushed the listless Yingfei inside.

"Make sure she looks perfect," Qilong tapped his foot.

"Perfect is what I do," Aiyan said and skipped off, pulling her best friend's good hand.

"Sigh.. What to do with this girl's school life.." the man muttered under his breath. His knuckles had turned white from his tightened grip.

"I fell," Yingfei said.

"Oh really.. you fell, huh," Dr. Rey said as he scrutinized her wrist. The two were alone in room. "So how did you.. 'fall'?"

"I.. tripped?"

"On what?" he asked again, eyes not moving from her hand.

"On.. on.. the floor.." she stuttered.

Dr. Rey immediately stopped what he was doing and looked straight into Yingfei's eyes. His expression as if saying,

"You know ๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ isn't going to be pleased about this," he stated as a matter of fact, gesturing upwards at the mention of ๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ.

"He's always not pleased. That's how he got there.." she whispered.

"You know how protective he is of you. If he finds out.."

"Just tell him I tripped," she said decisively. "I want to finish school with my friends. There's only a year left."

"I see.." Dr. Rey sighed. The girl's life was extremely complicated. "Should I get a bodyguard to follow you?"

"No!" she exclaimed. "I can't keep the secret otherwise. Besides, I'm supposed to be a normal girl.."

"But you aren't a normal girl."

.....

Yingfei sighed and walked up to a big changing room labeled 'Yingxue'. After flipping the 'unoccupied' card to 'occupied', she walked in and locked the door.

After a long lecture, Dr. Rey had finally finished treating and bandaging her wrist in no time. It would only take around a week or so to heal.

She had to take the public hallway when heading to the staff medical office to be less conspicuous rather than have the doctor walk into Yingxue's room. It would have spurned a bunch of rumors regarding her health. The entire time, no staff took account of her at all. Usually some people would stop to greet her but it was going to be a busy night, so nobody bothered with hellos at the moment. She was known as Yingxue's assistant, Fei. Due to her average appearance, no one had ever associated the two as one and the same. And with them never appearing together, everyone had assumed that Yingxue didn't like being seen together with someone like her, which was understandable.

The staff here were good people, but you could never tell a person's true thoughts. She rather appreciated the less attention.

The room was extremely wide, Yingxue being one of the biggest stars, it was without question that her needs had to be catered to. It was filled completely with everything you needed for comfort. The only thing missing was a bed but the giant sofas were enough for five people to lie down on if they wanted to. Due to regularly being cleaned, strictly when the room was unoccupied, it was absolutely spotless.

Yingfei walked up to the mirror and stared at her lackluster appearance. She was alone now.

Opening the drawer, she took out a pink spectacles and contact lens case. She carefully placed her thick powerless glasses inside before proceeding to take out the black colored contact lens from her eyes. When she finished putting them away, she looked straight into the mirror.

Violet.

A rare eye color. The only other person she knew with these eyes was her mother. She took in a deep breath and blinked slowly. By the end of it, she looked at herself and gave a big genuine smile.

"It's time," she said confidently, unusual from her normal reserved demeanor. She pulled the dull scrunchy from her head and let her long hair fall down to her waist. She whipped it around gracefully as she combed through the split ends with her fingers. Her thick jet black hair quickly became straightened and tidy. The entire time, she continued smiling in the mirror, a humorous glint in her eyes.

She had become Yingxue.
