Nonetheless, Tony also became very focused on finding a cure for cancer and finally had a small success in the last 20 years through his chinese herbal medicine research.
He was in his room one day observing under the microscope the effects of an isolated chemical compound from one of the herbs on the human skin cells.
In the beginning he thought that the chemical resembles a compound he has found before resembling cellular healing.
Instead in a week's observation he found it able to increase the longevity of the skin cell.
Moreover, it was able to extend the lifespan of the cell and slow down cell growth.
Seeing the positive effects it has, he decided to inject the chemicals in high levels on different species of snakes.
He was stunned when he analyzed the differences in the control group vs experimental group of different species.
In high dosage, he found the skins that they shed to be able to withstand the toughness of knives.
Not only that, on further analysis the compound was such a nourishment that it extended the lifespan of the snakes by average of 1-2 years. And also increase cells' inhibition response from other cells.
When he injected the compounds into groups of mice, he found that it also was able to extend their lifespan by 1-2 years within 3 months of chemical injections.
But what surprised him the most is that a derivative of the chemical imitates that of anabolic steroids.
The mices with the derivative chemical injected into them were found to have enhanced muscle growth promotion.
It made the mices stronger and recovered faster from workouts.
Soon he combined the derivative cancer reducing compound with the chemicals in the medicinal paste and strength pill to form an altogether new super pill.
But the negatives is that it can only reduce cancerous tumor growth and not completely cure it altogether. So he still has a lot more researching to do.
In 3 years of using the super pill he found his muscles and skins to be tough enough to withstand the impact of knives.
And increased his body mass to 180 pound, ripping with lean powerful muscle.
During this time period the quiet days of old were soon disrupted by the temperamental changes of war.
On July 7, 1937, the Marco Polo Incident broke out as Japan invaded China.
Robbing its people of their livelihood and causing rampant starvation all over the country.
In October, 1938, Fo Shan was occupied by the Japanese army who destroyed factories, infrastructures and buildings.
The population of Fo Shan shrunk from more than 300,000 to just over 150,000.
Due to the huge amounts of rice that Tony yields in his 4 acre underground agriculture farm.
He was able to save the lives of over 80,000 people from starvation.
Only a dozen factories in the whole city remained in operation still.
Ip Man's residence was also confiscated and turned into the headquarters of the Japanese army.
The day was darkened by the clouds covering the Foshan's sky, making the white mansion background seemingly less inviting and cheerful than before.
Ip Man stands the entrance footsteps overlooking the courtyard which was once beautifully decorated with plants.
Now what is left is leaves from the tree skewed on the ground in a mess.
His face was touched by slight emaciation due to the huge tragedy that has struck his beloved citizen and city.
He sees the turmoil like the dry sagging leaves of the small tree in a pot.
"Young master I got all your luggage," Uncle Wang calls out putting down a small chest, "Anything else I can do for you?"
Mustering a smile despite the depressive state he says to him, "Uncle Wang, you have served our family for so many years. I'm sorry I can't do anything." He shakes Uncles Wang's hands in thanks.
Tony then came through the entrance with Ip Man's wife and kid, handing to his master a rectangular box.
Saying casually, "Master Ip Man, you don't have to worry about us. We have plans for a nice job in agriculture."
Hearing that his close ones are getting well taken care of Ip Man's face relaxes a little. Grabbing hold of the box from Tony, "That's good to hear."
Tony then says in a serious questioning voice, "Master are you sure you don't want this agricultural job? Our manager would happily hire you."
Ip Man mildly declines by waving his hand, "It's really unnecessary. Maybe in the future." Calmly smiling as always to his consideration.
Only Mrs. Wing Sing watches and takes a quiet sigh to the rejection of the offer.
She's well aware that the future might get more difficult to handle. Yet she's also knowing that her husband has never done such backbreaking works in the past.
Tony didn't want to push anymore for his master to accept. His master is not someone who likes to own anyone else favors, a dignified person behind his humility and mildness.
"Okay Master Ip Man I understand," accepting the decline of his invitation, "If there's any problems in the future, go to this address in the card." He hands a business card with an address printed on it.
Tony bows to the trio's family and leaves the mansion. Ip Man sighs upon the parting between master and student.
