Chapter 2 - Rebirth From The Stars

A/N: For these kind of novels I'm going to write, there will always be a special character that will accompany the main lead. Do enjoy your reading!~

A second chance at life.

Even for a long moment after realizing that fact, Yin Lanying still can't believe that she was given another lifetime opportunity.

She had opened her eyes to a different scenery that was all too familiar to her. Her room. Her lovely view of the courtyard garden. Yin Lanying's thoughts began with looking at herself in a mirror to confirm her rebirth.

"I still can't believe it. . ."

Finally her emotional walls that kept her sadness inside had shattered and she began to weep for quite awhile. The flowing crystal clear drops of liquid still flowed down her fair cheeks, reheating the quick chilling sensation after many trails of teardrops.

"Fourth Miss, please use this handkerchief."

A maidservant at her side extends a blue floral decorative handkerchief to wipe her tears, but they still fell after one wipe.

"T-Thank y-you. . ."

Yin Lanying softly cried out, thanking whoever that gave her this second chance that she can take to walk the correct route to fate.

After her emotional breakdown had ended, she lets her maid re-apply makeup asking her to give a simple look that fits her appearance. As expected, the maid was puzzled but Yin Lanying didn't have time to tell the confused servant about her different attitude because of this day where she came back to.

The day where she had announced wanting to marry the Crown Prince Yang Le from five years ago prior, but this time she'll change course.

Starting with her eldest sister.

. . .

"Yin Lanying didn't scold you after all that crying? How odd. She would've talked you down and brag about her 'wealthy' status at your face. . ."

In another courtyard, the young maiden sitting on a chair and resting with tea on the table was none other than Yin Rue, the Second Miss and the older twin sister of Yin Rui.

The Third Miss Yin Rui was sitting on the opposite side of the table, enlightening herself with new published romance books.

"Don't think too highly of her changing that much. She's probably just too big in a mood to continue her rant on you."

Yin Rui said to the maidservant who was actually a spy for the twin sisters to keep check on Yin Lanying.

"Yin Rui, don't jump to conclusions that easily. Not abusing the servant with words, wearing simple makeup and clothing, and visiting Eldest Sister? Has she ever talk to Eldest Sister even once?"

Yin Rue looked at her younger twin with a calm demeanor, yet inside she was starting to hold huge suspicions about Yin Lanying's change. She knew that the fourth miss wouldn't change without something happening in the first place.

"Oh but then again, isn't today where she will tell the Emperor about wanting to marry the crown prince? Such idiocy will that be when things come."

"Yes, such idiocy will be condemned."

Yin Rue thought she would feel an uncomfortable feeling yet it became a warm, calm spring instead. Why was she calm all of the sudden?

. . .

Unlike the other courtyards, the Eldest Miss's courtyard was very breathtaking. There was no fancy designs nor colorful flowers that represented her place. Only a pavilion decorated in white silk and tiny pouches hung from the ceiling filled with what she called stardust.

And the Eldest Miss was holding onto one of the pouches with a serene appearance of being the eldest child of the Yin family. The aesthetic view of her made Yin Lanying reflect her life choices of not being close to this caring eldest sister of hers in the previous lifetime.

"Dearest Fourth Sister, you have arrived. I was about to brew some Divine Star Tea so please be patient while I make some for us."

"Eldest Sister Yin Xingxing is definitely well versed in brewing this particular tea that no one could make. Except those chosen to guide the people they are tasked with."

Yin Xingxing pauses in her footsteps, looking back at her youngest sister with a knowing smile on her face before going to brew tea for the both of them.

Divine Star Tea is made with the stardust that Yin Lanying's elder sister keeps in her pavilion. It is known to be the world's second best tea due to its astonishing effects of nourishing the soul of a person. The only places that have this special tea are the Star Spirit Sect where her sister attends and her sister's courtyard.

As such, experiencing this exotic taste made Yin Lanying's body feel refreshed within herself as they both enjoyed the view from the pavilion.

However there are important matters at hand.

"Eldest sister, at first I didn't believe your words about meeting you in the next life until now. I've been wondering how you knew that I was going to be reborn after my death."

Yin Lanying looked at the serene maiden with an impatient gaze. Why did her eldest sister care for someone like her? Wasn't she the one who made the mistake of accusing this kind lady to be dominated by men because of her real white lotus personality?

"For you, I can't hide anything other than important events."

Yin Xingxing brushed her bangs on her forehead to the side, revealing a star-shaped birthmark that gave her an ethereal feel. Yin Lanying was livid.

"Eldest Sister! Why didn't you tell me you were a Starseer?! Not only Starseers can guide their tasked person to success, they can predict what will happen in the future in glimpses! Are you telling me you knew that I was going to die one day and be given a second chance at life? You could've just saved me right then and I would've make sure to choose the right options!"

"Fourth Sister, I know! I know I could've saved you back in the previous lifetime but things have already escalated too far for you to turn that life around! It was better for you to atone that life by being reborn from the day where everything all began."

"So. . .my death was the way to set things right again?"

Although she knew that her eldest sister had her reasons for nature to take course, the whole event in the previous life still gives her a cold expression. Now that her heart is firmly protected from getting hurt by the twins and Yang Le, she will plan something that won't let them look at her as the same person from before.

"Don't falter, Fourth Sister. This is a new beginning for you to change your fate, and as a Starseer I will follow whatever you choose. No matter if you chose to rebel against the whole world, I will surly follow you through as the stars from the heavens have granted a second chance for you to accept your new way of life."

Yin Xingxing assured her with a caring smile and patted her hand gently. In this second life she won't let her youngest sister suffer unfairly like the previous lifetime.

"Eldest Sister. . ."

Yin Lanying was moved. Her Eldest Sister had the biggest heart and wasn't a white lotus like other ladies who do desperately try to be one to gain attention for men.

"Right, the first thing we need to do is prevent your word of marriage from ever happening."

"Don't worry about that, Eldest Sister. I have thought of a plan."

"Fourth Sister, why don't you leave the planning to me?"

A deep yet playful voice entered both of the girls' ears, turning their heads to a young man that seems to be the same age as Yin Lanying. His unexpected presence surprised her.

"Eldest Brother."
