Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 - Wild Battle and Portal

Tyler now walking through the woods noticed a few different things. He also had botany as one of his backgrounds. The farther he went into the woods, the greener and more alive the plants became, it was as if there was something feeding the trees.

Throughout the walk Tyler kept his revolver in hand. Now he was much more concerned, it seems that knowledge is not always a blessing…

Here in this forest were very dangerous monsters, wolves bigger than horses, giant monkeys, snakes the thickness of a man and also small poisonous creatures.

In one part of the book he bought about medicinal plants, some descriptions speak of miraculous effects such as restoring sight, health, growing amputated limbs, increasing a man's life and vigor. Certain plants had to be over a hundred years old to be mature, another five hundred or even a thousand.

Even with so many absurd effects described Tyler did not discredit them at all ... Well he thought he was no longer in a position to deny the facts. He had been transported to a world totally different from his own.

As Tyler was approaching the mountain, he heard a loud, low growl near him. It was the same noise he had heard the day he arrived.

"A demon with a blue back!" He whispered to himself.

Tyler had already learned the name of this beast, it looks like she was very feared around here, behind only the giant wolves that attacked in pack.

Armed only with the revolver he did not deny that he was somewhat apprehensive.Although his revolver was very good and had a potent caliber, it was just a revolver with a five ammunition drum. In a risky situation, five shots are nothing.

Tyler was very familiar with dense and tall forests, as a young man he had served in Vietnam and later as an elder traveled the world, had learned a lot from Brazilian Indians in the Amazon rainforest. His relaxed posture became more serious, as if he had gone into hunter mode, now he thought of every step, avoiding every branch and dried leaves. Now he was a ghost!

Moving from tree to tree always protecting his rear end he heard the roar again.

"It's closer now!" While Tyler was mourning his luck, he heard a loud, loud moan, followed by a severe crack of branches.

Another animal? This noise was clearly different, hiding and walking slowly he saw the beasts. A giant monkey was fighting a demon with a blue back.

Apparently the fight had just begun. Tyler felt that calling that monkey was euphemism, that beast was a giant gorilla, at least twice as large as an African gorilla. Apart from his white coat and size, he saw no difference to an earth gorilla.

The blue-backed demon was bigger than the one he had killed. The fight was pretty ugly, the monkey jumped from the trees and tried to hit the other's back, Tyler didn't know who was losing or winning, one biting and scratching with his long claws, the other punching hard in the other's back.

Although the punches thrown by the monkey had greater power, they struck just the thick, sturdy blue fur.

As the fight raged, Tyler saw out of the corner of his eye a small red blur far away, although he was very curious he could not be careless and forget about these two titans in front of him.

For another fifteen minutes the fight continued until the giant monkey used a fallen branch as a clef.

Pááá… Pááá… Pááá….

The monkey's three blows were so strong that Tyler literally felt the sound with his insides.

The blows went where one day the head of another beast went. Even though he had won, the monkey was not in good condition, his body was severely injured, blood was running down his entire body giving him a frightening red tone.

Tyler had thought this fight had been some territorial issue, something very common with large predators.

But what he saw next was very strange. The giant monkey bit the nape of the demon by tearing out a large chunk of flesh, then fingered it until it found a violet stone at the base of its neck.

From what he had learned, he knew this was a beast's core, in the adventurers' book it said that only when a beast reached a certain age did it generate that core where all its life force was stored! Alchemists were very fond of them, as they were said to be one of the main ingredients for miraculous elixirs.

The monkey staggered to the red blur Tyler had noticed earlier.

Slowly Tyler walked to a better position, now he could see, the monkey was digging the earth and burying its core near the red blur, that blur was a plant, Tyler had never seen such a weird plant.

Its red was intense and even in the sun it had a very strong light of its own, even though it was no more than six inches high, it emitted a powerful aura. Tyler could no longer contain himself, he really wanted to see this little plant up close.

He propped himself up on a tree and aimed. The first time you killed something in this world was by luck, not this time! Even after he left the army he never stopped shooting, his aim was certainly better than before, while studying he also practiced and took some sport shooting courses, even though his strength was long-range shots with sniper rifles, this target could not escape.

Tyler controlled his heartbeat, aimed at the animal's head…

Poww… poww… With just two shots the monkey's head turned to jelly…

Tyler was quiet for a few more seconds, fearing that some other beast had the same idea as him.

As he approached, he saw that the monkey had made a small flower bed for that plant, one too good to be honest.

There was a circle about five feet in diameter made of stones, and inside the circle the earth was very different, it was black, only by tapping the eye Tyler knew that this earth was very rich in organic material, that is, the monkey fertilized very well.

Tyler pulled out his small pocket knife and sliced the monkey's flesh looking for its core as well. The monkey's core had no difference in color, it was violet like the devil's, but instead of being the size of a nail it was almost half a man's thumb.

Curious he dug the earth from that small flowerbed, dozens of cores were there, some were new, some were old and were almost crumbling.

"Can this be used as fertilizer?"

Tyler pulled a small bag out of his coat pocket, it was a zip lock bag , Tyler always kept one in his pocket for some eventuality.

The bag had a capacity of 2 liters, thinking of transplanting the small seedling it was very slowly fidgeting and digging without damaging the roots, at the bottom of the bag he put some cores, then earth and more cores. Making small layers, as I had already deduced this plant was special, and seemed to be nourished by these small crystals.

Even though it was good money Tyler didn't give a damn about losing these crystals, the value he had made in trading was very high and this little plant had sharpened his curiosity. He watered it with some water from his canteen, put the remaining cores in his coat and continued to the mountain.

His climb was very smooth and quiet, he definitely suspected now, how could a wild mountain have such an easy path? Even a passenger car could climb there.

Tyler stood at the entrance to the cave from which he had come, perhaps from the surprise of that day he did not notice the details. The entrance had a perfect arch shape, it was as if it had been made by men.

The interior of the cave was wide and spacious, as geologist Tyler had visited hundreds of caves in his life, but none compared to that one. It looked like someone had built with a lot of work. For almost two kilometers he walked into the recess, it was exactly in the middle of the road, it was a large arc demarcating both sides. When he passed by here it was night and he only had the light of his flashlight, even now not being so clear he saw an inscription made in the stone, it was a large spiral made of small scratches, and a few words below.

"This way the champion must pass, after the light goes out the way will close!" Tyler thought of those words and found it very curious.

After the light goes out? What light was that? Tyler turned off his flashlight so that "this" light could appear. When he turned off his flashlight the streaks of the spiral glowed faintly.

Tyler ran his fingers over it and some dust came out, making the light brighter.

He left his precious seedling on the floor and began cleaning up every spiral. It was made up of exactly two hundred risks. Two of them no longer emitted any light.

Tyler sat up and stared, "What was that?"

Two were out, and it had been two days since he'd been here…

Does???…

"Do I have 200 days for this portal to close?" Tyler couldn't help but exclaim excitedly, that was a long time. It's more than six months!

Since waking up this morning he had a different desire inside him. He wanted to move to this planet once and for all, wanted to change it and conquer it!

Tyler laughed at his own thoughts, before he was thinking of selling everything and living in a retired retreat in Florida.

"Fuckin 'Sunshine Retreat !!!" Tyler laughed out loud.

He walked happily making his big plans, everything was as it was the night he left, only the fire was out, showing he was gone.

He didn't even bother to take down the tent, just grabbed the essentials and set off home with his ford bronco.

Tyler was born in Arlington, but today he lived in a small town relatively close to Houston. He had moved there about five years ago when he finished his last college.

His house was in the furthest part of town, a large plot of about five hectares.

Tyler had everything he needed there, a small garden, solar power, a very large workshop, and a small airstrip for his plane, an old cessna.

Tyler came into the house and sat on the couch for a moment. His house was not very organized, he had to admit, but there was no dirt. Just books and more books scattered around the house, he had made several shelves, in fact three-fourths of the second floor were just libraries, but the books were still taking over the house.

He patted his jacket pocket and felt the small cores.

With a strange smile on his lips he went to the vegetable garden…
