"Hush beautiful. My name is Declan. Don't move or make a sound unless you want that creature to attack and kill us." He deliciously whispered into my ear sending shivers down my body....
Aria didn't know whether to listen to him or to try to escape. She was also trying not to think about how being in his arms felt so good. Which makes no sense..
Coming back to her senses, she decided the best choice was to listen to the man named Declan. She glances up at him and nods her head in cooperation. She noticed that Declan has not taken his eyes off the creature. He had a serious look to him. Not out of fear, but more like duty?
Suddenly, the creature lunged forward to attack them. Declan, never letting go of Aria, avoided the attack and appeared behind the creature. It was amazing how fast he moved! Aria, grabbed Declans hand and removed it from her mouth. She may be scared out of her mind, but she had to think of a way to get out of there! "Please! We need to make a run for it! If we don't, that creature will kill us!" Some how she was able to whisper this instead of yelling. She was looking at him, pleading with her eyes. He looked down at her and just stared, emotionless.
Finally, making up his mind to respond to her, he spoke. "If we run, that creature will definitely kill us. We have to move slowly and quietly until we are out of the woods. Creatures like that one don't like to move around in the open. It makes them more vulnerable and easier to kill them. We are at a disadvantage but if we play it smart, we can definitely survive the night."
Shaking in fear, Aria had no choice but to concede. She was no expert in bizarre looking creatures that want to kill and eat you. Hell, she can barely kill a bug!
Declan wrapped both of his arms around her and started backing up slowly, pulling her with him. She let him take control and moved with him as if they were one. Suddenly, the creature made a sound that was like an angry growl and swirled around to look at them. It stood there and just stared, watching them slowly retreat. The creature seemed to become more agitated and tilted its head to the side. As if preparing to attack again, it clenched its claw like hands and started shaking.
Seeing the creature preparing itself to attack, Declan sped up his pace backing up. Surprised, Aria tripped on a rock and stumbled. She slipped out of Declans arms and hit the ground. Hard. She hit the back of head on something and it momentarily dazed her. Declan lunged forward to grab her but realized that he didn't have enough time. He than moved into a defense position and pulled out a knife for the attack. The creature landed in front of Declan and started swinging it's giant claw like hands towards his throat and chest. Declan dodged the attacks and proceeded to attack the creature with his knife....
Aria sat up and looked around, a little confused. Seeing Declan and the creature fighting, realization hit. She slowly stood up and found big branch to bash the ugly creatures face in. She stepped towards the fighting duo when she heard Declans voice ring out.
"Run! Don't worry about me". He yelled between attacks. Aria faltered in her steps. She didn't know what to do.
"I can't just leave you! I want to help!" She couldn't bare to leave him alone with the creature..
Declan was covered in sweat from the exertion and was bleeding in a few spots on his chest and back where the creature successfully clawed him. Angry, he yelled at the top of his lungs leaving no room for arguement. "Woman! What did I just tell you?! Leave now! Run as fast as you can and get out of here. You will only get in the way and become a hindrance if you stay!.
A few tears escaped her eyes as she took a step back but she still hesitated. "Please!" He yelled again. Becoming desperate in his plea for her to run.
She dropped the stick and started backing up some more. Before turning to run, she looked straight at Declan with tears and anger on her face and said "You better survive! If you don't, I won't ever forgive you!" With that said, she turned on her heel and ran as fast as she could.
