Chapter 94 - Cornelia Street

Selena left Killian's apartment after he fell asleep.

When the taxi stopped in front of the café, Selena's eyebrow creased, a man which she recognized to be her father's guard was standing next to the door.

"Ms. Su good afternoon," the man bowed to greet her.

She gave him a bright smile, "what do you need?" She asked.

Her eyes lowered to the bag next to him, "Mr. and Mrs. Su had an emergency so they left without informing you."

Selena felt her world crumble upon hearing it, "what emergency?" She asked.

"They needed to fly back to the city and -"

"What about their kids? I can't handle them!"

The man smiled, "They picked up the kids at their school, they tried to call you but, you weren't answering so they left. Here's the key to the café and ahm," he gulped.

"This bag is full of guns, smoke grenades, and poisoned arrows. If there's an intruder you can use it. Don't worry about the body, you can call me and I will take care of it."

Selena rose an eyebrow, unsure of what Daniella instructed the man to do.

She cleared her throat and nodded even though she doesn't understand what is happening.

"What about the café, I can't handle it myself," she said as she opens the door of the café.

The man followed her with the bag in his hand, "they will be gone for two days, Mr. Su said you don't need to open the café and take a rest, they will be in the villa. If you want, we can follow them," he lengthily said.

Selena shook her head, she didn't need to think about it, she prefers to stay on the island.

"There are civilian guards around so you don't need to worry about your safety."

Selena nodded, when the guard was about to leave, she stopped him.

"I have a friend Barney and ahm Killian, you don't need to be alarmed if you see them around especially Killian,"

The man smiled, "we know, Killian has been helping us to make sure that no one goes close to your house, he mostly following you," and the man left, leaving Selena dumbfounded.

Out of nowhere, Killian's voice rang in her mind saying (All I want to do is to protect you, Selena)

She bit her lips, excitement pounded her chest, before her mind could think, her hands had moved to send Killian a message.

(Are you sleeping) her fingers frost before she could send it. She sighed and decided to delete the message.

She rushed upstairs, straight to the bathroom.

Meanwhile, Alexa's eyes were shining as she watched her parents in front of them.

They are in the chopper, on the way back to the Villa where they grew up.

Their parents suddenly excused them at their school and without explanation, the triplets and Louisa were dragged out of their school.

It was Friday, and her parents said they will spend the weekends in the villa.

Excited, Alexa looked at her brothers, looking just as excited as her.

"So mom, are we going back to our life? Are we rich again?" Alexa blurted.

Her mother just looked at her, flat face and lips pressed together.

Alexa raised both of her eyebrows, "silence means yes right?" her smile widened.

Her mother remained statue and that's when she realized the harsh truth.

"It means no, right?" nose wrinkling, Alexa asked.

Her mother nodded, and with that, Alexa sulked and turned to her sister Louisa next to her wiping the teeth of her skulls.

"Poor little Louisa," Alexa said, stroking a hand to her sister's hair, "you must have missed your big room, television especially the huge closet that could fit all of your dolls, do you now sister?"

Louisa looked at her, with her lips pursed together she shook her head and went back on wiping her skeletons teeth.

Alexa blinked and then turned to her father.

"Dad, please! Can we at least visit my monkey?" she pleaded.

Her father looked at her, seeing the sadness in his eyes, her heart pounded.

"What's wrong, dad?"

"Alexa," hearing the hardness of his voice, Alexa suddenly thought that there might be something wrong with her monkey.

"What happened to my sister?" she exclaimed.

Everyone looked at Louisa, the girl looked back with a confused face.

"Oh please! You know who I mean!" Alexa rolled her eyes.

Seeing that everyone was still looking at her confusedly, Alexa banged her hands, "My monkey!" she blurted.

"She's dead," her father spoke straight, and her hand frost in the air.

"My monkey is dead?" her lips quivered, heart slightly gripped with pain.

Then her father smiled, making her face to flat.

"Just kidding!"

"dad!"

"No, she's really dead," her father said again, face went serious.

"No!" Her face crept out, slowly the color fades away.

Then, her father laughed, shoulder shook with amusement.

"Just kidding, she's alive."

"DADDY!" Alexa yelled.

But her father stayed laughing with amusement while the rest of the family were busy with their own businesses.

She got up, moved and sat down on her father's lap despite the danger.

Her father brushed her hair, soothing her after tears formed in her eyes.

"She's alive right?" she asked.

When her father nodded, Alexa felt at ease

Out of nowhere, Alexa felt a hand on her arm, she turned and found her mother throwing her a piercing look.

"What is it mommy?" she innocently asked

"Sit down, your father is going to massage my legs," her mother ordered.

Just like a sloth hugging a tree, Alexa tightened her embraced to her father's neck and shook her head, "No."

Her mother rose an eyebrow, "Alexandria Su, I don't have so much patience right now," her mother warned her.

Alexa pouted, suddenly remembered the book she read in the cafeteria out of boredom, "mom your lack of patience is called menopausal, I read it, it's normal for a woman in your age," she innocently said.

As she said that, her father's voice rang to her ears, "Alexa sit down and put your seatbelts tightly. Make sure to shut your lips before your mother removes you to my will."
