Later that night, after Selena was done with her nightly ritual, she went to her room.
As she entered her bedroom, a cold breeze passed through her thin lingerie, her arms hug her body, skin shivered by the cold air.
"Didn't I close the window earlier?" she murmured, she remembered closing it since she was watching the fight earlier between the two gays – it was something about stealing someone's boyfriend.
She walked in big steps to close the window, and when she turned to sit on her bed, she found a square box with a green ribbon on top.
Her eyebrows creased with confusion, wondering if Alexa bought a dress but if she does, the girl would have shared the news with enthusiasm like she won the presidency.
Curiosity has made Selena's hands to open the box.
She removed the cover and set it aside, her eyes were dumbfounded to see a note with her name on it.
Dearest Selena,
I saw this dress and you're the second person that came in my mind. So, dress up and I will pick you up tomorrow afternoon.
P.S, the first woman I thought was Marilyn Monroe but, she's dead so you don't need to be jealous.
From your Darling Killian.
After reading the note, Selena sat on the bed, one hand was holding the note while the other was covering her mouth, preventing herself from laughing.
(Marilyn Monroe!)
Smiling alone in her room, Selena picked up the dress.
It was a jade sleeveless silk dress. Selena held the waist of the dress and simply scanned in.
It was so simple and smooth. It doesn't have any tag of who the designer was, what size it was or what store it came from.
She bit her lower lips as she stared at the dress in her hands. It was small which has made her wonder whether it was fit or not.
She locked the door and the window after deciding to try it on. She removed her lingerie and put on the dress.
At first, she thought it would be a problem seeing how small it was but, to her surprise, despite its silk material, the dress slide in her body like she was covered with oil.
She closed the zipper on the side and looked at herself through the mirror on the wall. Her hands absently ran on the dress, from her chest part down to her waist.
She was astonished looking at her body, she never thought that her waist was that small.
"How did he know my size?" she murmured, even herself was not familiar with her size. She used to have her designer, so she doesn't need to worry about her size.
She turned to look at the box, then she found another note.
She picked it up and read it as she sat down on the edge of her bed.
Dearest Selena,
I forgot to tell you but, once you tried that dress on it means you agree to sleep.
Looking forward to it.
You darling Killian.
Unlike earlier, Selena didn't find his note funny. Her face wrinkled with annoyance as she remembered what he did in the parking lot.
Hesitating whether to go or not, Selena looked at her reflection in the mirror while sitting on the bed. Her face was pale, while her eyes, seemed to be glooming with sadness.
(What is this feeling?) she asked herself. As she stared at her flat face, all she could think of was Alejandro, was she happy earlier because Alejandro will be at the party tomorrow? She thought.
A slight pain throbbed in her heart; she will be Killian's date tomorrow but Alejandro is in her mind. Perplexed by her feelings, Selena got up and took her phone on the bedside table.
As she opened it, a message was received, something she didn't notice since her phone was on silent.
'How are you?'
And there it was again, her heart pulverized by just reading a message she received from Alejandro.
With a faint smile on Selena's lips, her finger tapped on the screen of her phone.
'Good but, your brother had just sent me a dress to wear. I am not sure though if it's suited to the party,' she sent the message after attaching the photo of the dress Killian had sent her.
'It's gorgeous,' Alejandro replied.
Reading his message, she suddenly remembered herself calling him gorgeous in the kitchen.
She gulped hard while her feelings lifted, she felt elevated like a teenage crushing on to someone.
'I should maybe change. I don't know if I will look good at it.'
As she pressed the send button, regret came in her mind.
'why did I ask him that?' she murmured in a horrified voice.
She squatted on the floor and pulled her hair, feeling embarrassed by the message.
'Gosh! He's not even my friend' she wanted to curse at herself. Ashamed by her action. She doesn't want him to think that she's asking for his attention so he would say that she's pretty and the dress would look good on her but, seems like the message she had just sent was waiting for an answer 'It will look good on you.'
Her phone buzzed, indicating that he replied but, she's too coward to open it.
She gathered all her confidence and took in a deep breath.
Her right thumb, trembling anxiously pressed the open button and, his reply has made her spirit to almost escaped her body.
'Honestly, I don't like the dress I like you better in the lavender dress you had earlier.'
Then she read his next message, and every word he said has made her cheeks to blush.
'You are beautiful, any dress you wear will look good on you.'
And she thought she will be embarrassed once he said what she had in her mind but, instead happiness rose in her chest causing for her to buried her face on her palms.
