Standing in front of the full-body mirror, Selena ran her fingers on the hems of her dress, she's wearing a line gray with a black floral on the right-side waist, pairing it with a three inches heels, Selena felt a bit confident with her look.
She gulped hard, nervous with the thought of meeting Killian's parents, and it's mostly because of what happened on the cruise ship before.
She didn't get a chance to greet Killian's mother and that time, she was with Alejandro.
Her lips quivered as she stared at herself, imagining the awkward situation if any of Killian's family asked about her and Alejandro's relationship
Her body shivered by the thought, feet moved closer to the bed and sat on it.
(Should I say I have diarrhea?)
(No, that's too disgusting!)
Her eyes swelled, heart pounded nervously as she thought of how to escape the situation.
(Aish!) She pressed her lips, got up and paced around the room like a ghost.
Her phone buzzed, she picked it up from the bedside table and noticed the ring that Killian gave her.
'I will be there soon.' It was a message from Barney, he had offered to bring her to Killian's house before going to work.
She blew a sign, picked up the ring and put it on her finger.
She likes Killian, she's certain of that, her situation might be awkward but, meeting his family was something she needed to deal with now that she had decided to wear the ring.
She wanted to surprise Killian, even though she was half asleep when he proposed, still, he did.
Suddenly, she felt butterfly, hands shaking by the thought of settling down with Killian.
With a smile on her lips, she went downstairs.
The kids had just come back from school, she still doesn't know how Ken was able to bring Alexa home but he did.
"I will be leaving," she said to them.
Louisa who was busy writing something on her table got up and walked towards her.
The girl took out a hanky from her pocket and gestured her to bent.
Selena bent her body obediently, she smiled when she noticed that Louisa wiped the lipstick smudged on her lower lips when she bit it earlier.
"Thank you, Isa," she said.
Behind the girl's long bangs, Selena got a glimpse of the girl's irises changing to green. She strengthened and tightly gripped her purse.
There was a honk sounded from outside, Selena scurried downstairs and found Barney waiting in front of the door in his usual uniform.
"You ready?" Barney said a faint smile was on his lips as he opened the door for her.
"Yes, are you going to stay?" she asked, wondering if Barney will also stay since he's Alejandro's friend.
But he shook his head, opened the door and helped her to put on her seatbelts.
"No," he locked the seatbelts, swung his face to look at Selena.
He sighed, their faces are too close but he couldn't even touch her.
He pulled back, about to close the door when Selena called his name.
"Thanks, Barney, you're such a great friend."
He nodded, eyes gloom looked away from her. The last thing he wanted was for her to ask why.
Meanwhile at the café
After Selena left, Leo slouched on the couch, his sister was sitting at the end of the couch chatting to her friend Stephanie while her brother Ethan was busy helping Louisa with her assignment.
His phone buzzed, he stretched a hand and found Cassie's message.
"I am downstairs, can I talk to you?" His eyes swelled upon reading it, his body lying on the couch got up and rushed upstairs like a tornado.
He slammed the door of his bedroom open, took the perfume and spray it over his body.
"Wait, this is Ethan's''," his lips twitched, he had never liked Ethan's scent, it's so sweet and girlish.
His face wrinkled when the liquid entered his eyes. He blinked to remove the irritation and took the comb from the table and brushed his hair.
After making sure that he looked pleasant, he rushed downstairs.
He had his phone in his hand, he didn't bother to look at the message again and proceeded to the door with a triumph smile on his lip.
He found Cassie sitting on the bench opposite the café.
He looked at each side to see if any cars were passing and seeing the quiet street, he strode towards her.
He gulped hard, hands balled into fists as he went closer to her.
He was facing her back, he sat on the space next to her.
"I am here," he murmured.
He was about to turn and look at her when she said, "stop."
His eyebrows creased, he could hear the tense in the shake of her voice.
"I received your message," he said, puzzled.
"Well," Cassie lowered her eyes on her lap, she could smell the familiar scent and it made her heart pulsated.
When she felt the movement on her side, she went panicked, "don't move! I have something to tell you," she took in a deep breath, "but I can't say it in your face."
"you are so annoying," she stared, fingers on her lap played with each other, "and you are always so busy," he continued.
Her face rose, and she stared at the wall of the store in front of her.
"But I like you." she gulped hard and gathered all her courage.
As she confesses her feeling, her face was turning to her side, a shy smile was on her lips whole her cheeks blush.
"E- Leo!" her eyes swelled as she recognized the hairstyle of the boy sitting next to her.
"You like me?" he asked, utterly speechless by the confession.
"Ahm," she cleared her throat, her lips trembling anxiously formed a smile.
"Yeah?" she nodded, eyes gloom as her hands slowly clenched on her lap.
Leo nodded, he blinked and touched her cheeks, making sure he isn't dreaming.
Realizing that she was real, he pulled her to hug, buried her face on her shoulder while his hand stroke her hair.
"I like you too Cassie, I really thought you liked Ethan," relief flooded in his mind, clearing all the troubling feeling he has from his brother.
But Cassie didn't return his hug, she stayed stiff in his arms.
She sighed, pulled herself from his embrace and got up.
"It's late. I need to come home before my curfew," she walked backward, plastered a fake smile on her lips while her hand in the air waved a goodbye.
Leo dismissively waved back, and with excitement, he went back to the house.
