Chereads / Pity Me / Chapter 67 - CHAPTER 63

Chapter 67 - CHAPTER 63

After her third session with Dr. Han Sogeum, Luna sat in the waiting room, waiting for Jihoon's session to end. While Luna's took an hour tops, his only ever took half an hour or sometimes a few minutes less even.

Sogeum had helped her remember the day she had found Haemin's accounts of her on his computer. While the previous day, she had her remember the day of Hyuck Kim's party.

The party held mountains of humiliation so it was harder to relive. But, since she knew of Haemin's true intentions, that memory no longer hurt. Instead, the end of that day (or the start) was rather a sweet memory for her. Literally picture perfect.

The door to Sogeum's office opened and Jihoon stepped out. She was about to call out to him but the words got caught in her throat when she saw his red face and puffy eyes.

Sogeum also walked out, towards her, "Luna, can you drive?"

She nodded slowly,

"She doesn't have a license yet." Jihoon cleared his throat and managed a smile towards her, "We'll get going. Thank you for today."

"What, is going to Dr. Han helping you or torturing you?" Luna asked after minutes of silence in the car, he was driving slow which she was glad for because if Sogeum thought that he wasn't in the right state to drive, then she should be worried too.

"I don't know yet.. but I do think I feel slightly lighter after a session with her." He spoke clearly and looked much more composed.

"Are you still not gonna tell me your problem?" She asked with a pleading expression towards him. She wanted to help too, he was her family. She couldn't just sit back knowing that he was in pain.

"Nuh uh. Let's talk about something else." They stopped at a red light, "How is business school?"

She made a face, "Kind of boring.. and stupid."

He laughed, "Then why'd you take it? You have the brains for science or engineering."

"Because I want to be an eligible heir for the Pièrce empire too."

He turned to her for a second, "Are you sure you're not just doing it to smite Francis?"

She smirked, "I can endure business school for that. Besides I.. didn't want to be in the same class with Haemin anymore."

He gaped at her incredulousness, "Well, then you should've just changed courses! Not the whole major!"

She pouted stubbornly, "What's done is done, I don't want to talk about it."

"Luna, you cant force liking business studies. If your heart isn't into it then you wont be able to to see it through." The light turned green and they started to move again.

"What my heart is into, is something I can do with any major so its all good, trust me."

He furrowed his eyebrows, "What do you mean?"

"I like baking. And as a hobby, not something I wanna make into a living, I wanna do it just for my heart, and for my stomach." She chuckled.

He gave her a tired look and sighed, still unsure if he should step in or let her do what she wanted.

Luna slightly nudged his arm with her knuckles, "Come on, leave that, I have something more important to talk to you about."

"More important than your future?"

"Pfft, wayyyy more important than that non-existent thing, now liste-"

"Non-existent?!" Jihoon cut in and she slapped his arm,

"Listennnn." She whined.

"Okay okay, Im listening and stop moving my arm, Im driving."

"So, uncle's a shareholder of LK Cyber Tech's search engine right?"

He nodded, "Yeah it was an idea Mr. Lee and Dad had in college. It's a whole web portal actually, like Google but Korean, with better and faster resources."

Her eyes widened even more in excitement, "And can you like, do stuff with it?"

He gave her a weirded out look, "Of course, I can download it for you i-"

"No, not like that! I mean, as the son of a shareholder, would you be able to.. I don't know tweak it?"

"I have no idea what you're talking about."

"Like a master key or something that would allow you to do what ever you want with.. the charts." she mumbled the last part.

"CHART MANIPULATION?!" He exploded and the car almost swerved from its lane.

Luna cringed and gripped her seat belt, chuckling nervously, "Yeah."

Jihoon fumed and parked on the side.

"Why are you even asking about that. If you were a normal kid I'd just think of it as curiosity and actually enlighten you too, but knowing you, you might actually have it on your agenda."

"You're right, it is on my agenda. But it's not going to be really obvious manipulation, there is a video that is already on the internet that I need for you to take to the top of the charts so that it gets attention." She told him seriously.

"Okay, even if it doesn't get caught, why on Earth are you expecting me to take such a huge risk? What video are we talking ab-" He stopped mid-sentence and his eyes widened as a realization hit him,

"ARE YOU THINKING OF PROVING YOUR INNOCENCE?! DO YOU HAVE A VIDEO OF IT?!"

Luna burst out laughing, "What?! Nooo. That's impossible and far from my mind. Besides there is no video of that, no CCTV cameras, remember?"

He settled down, "Then?"

If he gave such reactions, Luna figured that he actually must have the power to do what she was asking of him, "So, you actually can do it, can't you?"

"Yeah, the director general of the service department at LK Cyber kind of has a crush on me. But I am not saying a single word further until you tell me what video it is."

She sucked in a breath, then gulped very loudly to lighten his mood so that he'd lend her an open ear,

But he gave her an impatient glare so she finally fessed,

"It's a video of Hyun."

"Renè." Diane repeated so that she would break out of her trance, "You just asked the advertisement department to set up a conference, and given the list of reporters and journalists you want there, you'll be expected to break some pregnancy or marriage news or something."

"Don't worry, I'll give em something better." She uttered with a plain face, but on the inside she was a wreck.

Diane tilted her head and gazed at the pensive aura she was emitting, "I know that look. That blank look that always means that your mind is anything but blank." Diane poured her a glass of champagne and perched herself on the desk in front René who was frozen on her office chair.

"Come on.. vent to me. It'll make you feel better."

René closed her eyes for a tired second and took the glass, "What if this doesn't work? What if they disregard this news and don't reopen the case? What if the court doesn't accept the evidence? Then Luna will have to relive the whole paparazzi ordeal all over again for nothing."

"Hey hey hey.. calm down. You're doing the right thing, for Luna, and the right thing always pays off, if not now maybe later."

René scoffed bitterly, "No, it doesnt. My sister did the right thing.. look where that got her."

Diane sighed, "Look, we don't have to make the court believe us, she already served the sentence. Its the world that needs to know. And I'm telling you, they will believe Luna. God doesn't make his people suffer more than they can bear. Especially an angelic child like our Luna."

René looked at Diane with every emotion she was feeling, reflect in her eyes, "I hope so."

On the last day of that week and Luna's fifth session,  she finished all her homework during her free periods and had her driver take her to Sogeum's office early (Jihoon would meet her there).

Today was the day they would tap into the last memory on her lost memory list. If there were any more, Sogeum said they would tend to those later but for now she told Luna to be proud of having this list end.

The last memory was of the second fight she had had at Juvie. The one whose reflection was what she saw in the mirror now.

Since she could never go past what she saw in the mirror, it was almost as if it never happened.

Except, the scar on her head said otherwise. She had Jihoon check it. Also, she had called Molly and she confirmed that Luna and Jade had fought with Frea and the others a second time.

The whole call was weird but Molly seemed extra hesitant about this topic.

So, they needed more stimuli for her brain to start revealing it, and for that Molly herself would be at this session to tell them what she knew of what happened and provide the stimuli.

For Luna it was hella scary and she felt nauseous the whole day.

She opened to door to the clinic and a pink haired woman stood up to welcome her. Surprising herself, Luna took long steps and flew into her arms.
