Chereads / Pity Me / Chapter 45 - CHAPTER 43

Chapter 45 - CHAPTER 43

He closed his eyes with a sigh,

"So, it did happen."

"I just dont get it, why though? Why would you do that to yourself?"

"I made a promise to her okay? A long time ago, I cannot break it." He stated firmly, "She was in a bad place, she was beating herself over a mistake she had made. And Luna," He was doing that thing again, the over-sympathizing, "When you, yourself are against yourself, you're embraced by vanta black darkness. I wanted to be by her side and show her that mistakes are to be learned from and then left where they belong, in the past. I had to ease her agony, you.. you wouldn't understand." He looked to the ground.

Luna clenched her jaw, "You're right. Maybe I cant understand that. But what I CAN understand is that she broke her promise so its no longer valid for you to keep yours."

He couldn't fight that, he knew she was right.

"Say something!" Fire danced in her eyes and he was afraid to look. Afraid that they might make him abandon his morals.

Luna stormed away and brought back the hammer from earlier. She tapped his and Ella's lock with her nail, "Break it."

Haemin displayed panic and waved his hands 'no'.

"A promise is a two-way commitment, the lock doesnt mean anything anymore, now, hit it."

She nodded towards it adamantly.

"Joy must be looking for us, we should go find her." He tried escaping but she pulled him by his arm, his face inches away from hers.

Luna's intention was to get his attention and she succeeded, wholly.

Despite himself, Haemin couldn't shy away from their closeness and the similar images it brought, from that night.

His confession gave Ella's unfaithfulness a fresh paint of realness.

The palpable scenario of the kiss he shared with Luna played in his mind like a bright and alluring reel.

His mind was muddled. Ella broke his heart, his trust. Luna was right.

"Break it, Haemin." She urged patiently.

Ella never came around anymore and she wasn't there now either.

Luna was though.

"Break it open."

And with one swift swing of the hammer, he popped it.

Haemin looked to Luna as her eyes twinkled in glee over the sight and he couldn't stop himself from smiling along.

"Hey! You cant do that!" A guard shouted.

"Next time you want to commit a felony make sure you have an escape route in mind, beforehand. We were at the top of a fricking tower you bubble heads." Joy scolded them with a smile.

She was delighted that something had happened between them and even more so because Luna did it herself.

Plus, both of them had such adorable hair colours, it was hard to get mad at them.

Luna grinned and silently celebrated in her mind over seeing Haemin smiling too.

All of them were walking to the nearest club to hang out and enjoy after a successful shoot.

"But wait, Im 18, an adult in Australia not here." Luna spoke up.

"Its okay. I know the owner." Said Minah.

"Well then I guess it's clear that Minah will be paying for the drinks!" Jeongin cheered and everyone joined.

They entered the abuzz club eagerly, the life of the place, contagious.

There were dazzling neon signs all over the place, the flooring and the ceiling both reflecting them.

A sea of people moved with the music and it exhilarated Luna. Absolutely fascinated her.

They sat down in a circle and Jeongin passed his phone around for everyone's drinks.

Luna wrote Vanilla Coke as usual.

"Come on we're at a bar! Drink some alcohol! Try a Bocce Ball or a Norina if you want something mild." Joy urged.

Luna declined politely, "I promised myself I'd never drink."

Joy rolled her eyes, "Ugh you two are meant for eachother." She nodded towards Haemin.

Luna looked at him, "You don't drink either?" Though it didn't surprise her, Haemin was far from being the drunk party animal type, Hyun perhaps but not Haemin.

"Meh it doesn't taste that good and I don't need alcohol in my system to have fun, neither do I have any miseries to drown. Although I can have some wine once in a while." He spoke lightheartedly and his hand rested near Luna's, he playfully pinched her long bony fingers and pressed his fingers to her nails, watching them make half-moonlike dents.

He frowned.

"I don't do that anymore." Luna told him, quick to ease his tension.

"Why wont the wounds heal then. It looks like they keep getting opened."

Luna pursed her lips, shit.

"Im so-"

Haemin got up and shoved a hand down his pockets and brought out a packet. He sat back down and took two gloves out of it. When he handed it to her and she got a good look, they turned out to be fingerless combat gloves.

"I had intended on giving them to you tonight. This way you can still clench your hands when you're stressed and it wont hurt you either."

Luna was so overjoyed she couldn't even begin to tell him that the pain was the whole point. She dared not ruin the mood.

She chirpily put them on and showed it to everyone sitting there.

They were black leather and had tiny gothic steel spikes, "They're stunning." She commented in a daze.

"I thought they matched your style." Haemin added bashfully.

Luna looked at him with the biggest smile she could muster, "Thank you."

Haemin looked down shyly and his pink hair fell in front of his eyes, "It's nothing."

If they were not surrounded by people, Luna would've hugged him regardless of the circumstances.

Joy pinched her from the side and shot her an excited grin, "Oh my gosh this is such a cute gesture." She whisper/squealed in Luna's ear.

"I knowww. Im dying of giddiness."

The attractive drinks arrived and Luna didn't once get tempted, she was already drunk in love.

"Hey, so I wanted to talk to you about something." Said Joy.

Luna nodded, urging her to go on.

"Is it possible that you ask your sister to make me the brand model for Renaissance?" She asked hopefully.

Luna pouted her lower lip apologetically, "Awe Joy Im so sorry, no. I cant. I would gladly help you but I haven't seen my sister in years."

"Well shoot. I guess I'll have to audition." Joy smiled, "Its okay, I was just wondering alright? No wor-" Joy stopped mid-sentence and looked behind Luna, wide-eyed.

She looked at Haemin and then back at what ever she was glaring at.

Luna kept her eyes on Joy, "What is it?"

For some reason she didn't want to find out.

"Luna.. we can still fix this alright? This doesn't mean anything changes." Joy told her.

Luna furrowed her eyebrows in confusion, she had to look after all.

So, she turned around to look and saw that Haemin wasn't sitting next to her anymore either, he was standing a few steps away, facing a tall blonde girl.

Her state of confusion lasted only a few seconds until she realised with great horror that the girl was infact her ex-best friend, Ella Sommervelle.

"What on earth is that bitch doing here?" Joy sneered from behind her.
