Mauri says to the Fiend as she leaves the scene.
"I've come up with a plan to kill Gabriel but it's a longshot."
He responds.
"well spit it out."
she sighs and asks.
"can we use mimicry?"
he replies.
"of course we can, why?"
she responds.
"because I'm going to mimic Helos and try to use this chance to gather his whole family and also lure Gabriel to us and wipe them all out in one go."
The Fiend amused by this plan chuckles and replies.
"so we kill two birds with one stone, I like it but how would this family gathering lure Gabriel?"
Mauri answers.
"because he's a family friend and always shows up to their gatherings."
Mauri then asks.
"so how do I use mimic?"
The Fiend Explains.
"you close your eyes, and remember every detail down from the sound of his voice, his appearance and once you think you got it, just chant Mimic and you'll take on his appereance until you either cancel the spell or your mana runs out."
Mauri takes a deep breathe and closes her eyes, picturing Helos the best that she can remember, and then once she finally felt confident, she chants.
"Mimic."
she looks around expecting something special to occur but she doesn't feel any different than before and then she asks the fiend.
"hey did it work?"
he replies unsure.
"well if it's based on the image you had in your head, then yes."
she asks.
"how can you not know?"
he responds.
"I've never seen this Helos guy, the only thing I can base his appearance off from is through your memories of him."
Mauri sighs and then asks.
"well did I at least change my appearance and voice?"
he replies.
"yes you look like a male now and your voice sounds deeper."
she then asks.
"so why can't I tell the difference?"
he responds.
"because it just works like that, I don't know how you want me to explain it."
Mauri then says.
"alright before we set my plan into motion let's go back to the village and try to find a mirror so I can practice his appeaeance."
The fiend replies.
"well let's go then, I wouldn't want you to botch his appearance during the family gathering, that would get us caught and killed."
Mauri takes a moment to wonder and asks curiously.
"so If I die, do you also die?"
he responds.
"yes because now that you and me are have become one, your death, would also be the death of me."
she follows up with another question.
"so you don't have a way to save yourself, like becoming what you were before you invaded my body?"
he clears his throat.
"I did not invade your body, if anything your pure hatred allowed me to enter without any problems and no I can't turn back to what I was before, because it's like I told you we've become one."
and as Mauri makes her way back to the village that she devoured, The fiend asks her.
"so what made you go after his family now instead of doing it after your revenge?"
She answers.
"well I figured since you and me are pretty much partners in crime, that I would at least fulfill something that you want done."
he laughs menancily and replies.
"I knew it was the right choice when I decided to assimilate with you."
she continues walking and as she gets closer, Mauri asks curiously.
"do you have an actual name?"
he replies.
"my name is not important, for now just keep referring me as the Fiend."
she insists to him.
"come on, you know my name, so it's only fair of I know yours."
the fiend doesn't answer her, but keeps going and then asks him.
"is your name embarrasing or something lame?"
he sighs fustrated and replies irritated.
"I don't have a real name."
she asks surprised.
"and why is that?"
he responds.
"because demons don't have names."
she replies.
"but you call yourself the Fiend though."
he answers.
"yeah because I was given that nickname, and so I took it as my own name."
after that Mauri arrives back at the village and goes to nearest house to look for a mirror, and then after searching the house for a few minutes, she finds one in the bathroom, in which she see that she is not looking at a reflection of herself, but at one that looks very similar to Helos, and surprised by this she thinks to herself.
"amazing, I almost lool exactly like Helos."
Mauri then examines the reflection and she can already tell that they are a few details that she got wrong, like how his ears aren't supposed to be that big and how he doesn't have any moles on his face, she then sighs and says to herself.
"well good thing, I can just practice it until I get it right."
The Fiend interjects.
"well I wish you good luck on your practice sessions."
Mauri asks confused.
"you say that like if your leaving, are you going somewhere?"
he replies.
"no, I'm just going to hibernate inside your mind until you're done."
she responds.
"oh I see?"
he then says to her."
"well whenever you think you got it right just call for me and I'll come out of hibernation."
Mauri then says.
"hold on, before you do that, I was still thinking on giving you a proper name, to call you by."
intrigued he asks.
"what did you have in mind?"
she jokingly asks.
"how does Clark sound?"
he immediately rejects it.
"you must be joking, he'll no."
she chuckle and continues.
"come on, it has a nice ring to it."
clearly annoyed and agitated he replies.
"no."
Mauri wonders through her mind searching for a name, and then she finally comes up with one.
"what about Damien?"
The Fiend seems to have taken a liking to the name, as he laughs and replies.
"yes Damien sounds like a good name, let's go with that."
Mauri responds.
"Well Damien, I'll call your name once, I get the Appearance of Helos right."
and so, Damien slips into hibernation, while Mauri continues practicing on getting Helos' appearance correctly.
