"Hey, Kass! Kass~? Are you listening?" A familiar voice said cutting threw my thoughts. I blinked and looked up, snapping out of my daze. Meeting the eyes of a familiar face I begun to relax. "Sorry, Maddie. I was just thinking... " I said, speaking only lies. Maddie raised a brow and smirked. "Mhmm, who is it?" Maddie asked a grin growing on her face. My eyes widened as I stared her down. "What do you mean?" I asked confused. She couldn't have ment- "It's A Boy Isn't It?!" Maddie yelled, bolting up from her seat. Only to be pulled down a second later by me. "Stop telling, and no. It's not a guy." I said with a glare. Maddie snorted and rolled her eyes. "Okay, fine. What ARE you thinking about? If it isn't a guy?" Maddie questioned as she picked up her fork and stabbed a piece of salad. I glanced at the salad she had, I hated salad honestly. It just wasn't very good. I gazed back at Maddie and frowned. "I just feel like something bad is gonna happen. It's just a weird feeling." I told her truthfully. She gave me a 'are you serious?' look and I just shrugged. It was a weird feeling, kind of Erie and strange. Maybe it was just me... hopefully. Maddie stood up and gave me a small smile. "Well, if you do ever get a boy that makes your heart pound, Kassandra Ackerman. Don't let him get away..." She told me with a flick of her pointer finger. I just was startled into a smile. Maddie gave a dramatic bow and grabbed her tray and threw it away, exiting the cafeteria. I was honestly shocked by Maddie's crazy thinking. How'd she think I was gonna get a crush when nobody even came within 2 feet of me except her? I rolled my eyes and stood up as well. Who knows... maybe one day. I sighed and looked around subconsciously. Nothing was gonna happen today... I was being weird again. The reason I had no friends except Maddie was because I was not into 'making friends' they'd leave you one day... and never come back. I scanned the cafeteria. My eyes we're drawn to a boy who stood in the corner. Suspicion struck me and I studied him. He had a hood covering his head but a few strands of his hair peaked out. He had long, soft, raven black hair, going all the way down to his neck. His eyes we're strange too. They were crimson red, and he had two red scar looking lines located under his eyes. What a weird boy... huh? I found myself unable to take my eyes off this boy. He looked around 20-22, weird. Suddenly without warning he looked up and meet my gaze with his red eyes. His gaze was filled to the brim with fire. It seemed as through I was being burned alive. But I felt as if this was a test of strength and held my gaze steady, not wanting to lose. I WOULDN'T lose. The crimson eyed boy raised a brow and I clenched my jaw. Just as he took a step forward my heart seemed to beat rapidly and I turned away, just about bolting out of the cafeteria. What was wrong with me? My mind raced as I walked quickly through the halls. This boy was weird, and I never felt so scared and interested at the same time as I met his gaze. I made my way to my dorm as quick as I could. But right as I turned the corner I smacked into what felt like a mountain. Making me land flat on my ass. Anger boiled in me. "What The Hell Man?!" I said, pissed off. Looking up at the mountain, my breath hitched in my throat. Oh shit... their crimson eyes locked onto mine. "Well... I deeply apologize, miss-?" The boy from before stated. I snorted and stood up. "Kassandra." I said to him. The red eyed boy nodded and swayed to his other foot. He seemed like he wanted to say something but was holding back. "You can say it..." I said to him. The boy looked at me with his cold stare and I just stared right back not showing fear. To my surprise, the boy lean forward so our faces were inches apart and studied me. "Excuse me... personal space." I said nervously. What was going on? The boy looked at me with a ghost of a smile crossing his face. "Your weird..." He said strate forward. I sighed. "Thank you for you start forwardness sir no name." I said monotone. I had been told this my whole life and now by this cocky bastard? It set me off, to be honest I was holding myself back from saying anything that I might regret. Before the boy could say anything else I brushed past him. This guy... was infuriating. I scoffed. I felt a hand on my shoulder and I turned around to tell the boy off but a loud siren like noise erupted from the intercom. I flinched harshly and looked at the nearest intercom. "Attention all students! Please keep calm and head to the gymnasium at this time. This is not a drill! This is a code red evacuation." The intercoms speaker system stated loudly. Fear rolled through me like lightning. W-what? This wasn't possible... it wasn't. A code red meant that everyone needed to get to safety. My father said something about this awhile ago. He warned me... He WARNED me, and now he was dead. This was no joking matter. It has begun... Jericho.
