Chapter 1 - Hijacking A Summon (Prologue)

Thousands of immortals gathered in the capital city of Lingran all discussing with one another, seemingly about a youth.

"Can you believe it? He's only 18 yet already unrivaled across all realms."

"Could we finally be able to see someone break through the heavens and ascend beyond the immortal realm?"

"If he isn't able, then who would be! He became an immortal at 14 and was undefeated by 16! Now that 2 years have passed since he went into seclusion, we should all be able to witness a miracle."

"My heart is about to burst open, why isn't he here yet, I can't wait to see what is above this sky."

"Old Lu, you're already a hundred thousand years old, how could you lose your composure like so"

"Aren't you trembling as well old hag!"

"Calm down, calm down, his majesty has arrived"

"Cough, cough"

A middle age man ascended above the crowds shining in a blinding light. It was none other than the current immortal emperor.

"As you all know, I invited young master Lin here today so that we will all be able to witness the first ascension beyond this world. A week ago when he left seclusion with just a slash of his sword he split the sky apart."

A voice suddenly came from behind the ruler

"We know, we know, get on with it already old man, my heart can't handle it any longer."

"So even you, sect master of the devil faction is here. Hmph, don't blame me if young Lin slashes you before ascending."

"Hahaha, even so it would have been worth it, to witness with my own eyes the one who broke through the immortal realm before dying, my name will go down forever in history!"

"Excuse me" a small soothing voice came from above, yet everyone in the crowds and even his majesty stopped talking and admiration filled their expressions.

He was neither too tall nor too short, his smooth black hair fluttered in the wind, he wore plain clothes yet they could not mask his handsomeness and his eyes seemed to glow brighter than stars if one directly stared at them.

It was none other than Lin Fan, the current genius who broke through the immortal stage, and entered the heavenly realm, whose name used to simply be a legend that was used to encourage young prodigies to work harder, that they may one day awe the world. Yet no one that that such genius would actually appear.

There were no cultivation methods, no mystical skills, no pill recipes, that ever mentioned anything above the immortal realm. Yet this youth had somehow broken through. When his majesty inquired on the method, the youth simply said, "All you have to do is communicate with all heavenly energies and combine them", dumbfounding everyone who heard his reply.

One may have a constitution suited for sensing wind particles, and therefore be able to borrow wind from the heavens one they reached the immortal realm, and rarely, people would appear with dual constitutions, able to communicate two elements. But being able to communicate with all elements, and combine them, was deemed impossible. The greatest genius was said to have been able to communicate with water, wind and fire, and even he, was unable to combine all three of them.

To this everyone lost hope to break through, as someone born with a constitution as rare as Lin Fan simply did not appear at all and was never recorded at all in the past millions of generations.

"Young Lin, please" continued his majesty as he gently bowed

The youth nodded and went forward and faced his majesty then said, "I will be leaving today, please take care of Mimi while I'm gone, as I can't take her with me." As he said so, he handed his majesty a small, cute, seemingly harmless, fox.

The emperor was dumbfounded and almost lost his composure, but then replied "Yes, yes I will, you don't have to worry!" he chuckled confidently. He then secretly checked the rabbit's cultivation only to receive a fierce glare from Mimi and horrifyingly found out that her cultivation was on par with his, a peak immortal. 'Take care of this? More like it will take care of me!' he felt a headache just thinking about what would happen after young Lin left. Hopefully the fox was as harmless as she looked to be.

The youth gave a genuine affectionate smile as he took one last glance at mimi, increasing the heartbeats of many young godesses within the crowd.

He then turned around, facing upwards and unsheathed his sword.

Decisively, his gaze intensified, and power from all elements surrounded him, making him look like a heroic deity, while the youth to himself 'I can't wait to find out what the world beyond is like'. While in the background the little fox had a devilish grin on her face, 'While master is gone, I will make sure to take over this world and offer it to him once he returns!' she thought decisively.

The youth spent a full minute gathering more and more energy, then his aura exploded all in one go as he dived and slashed towards the heavens.

The blue azure sky turned into an explosion of a myriad of colors through the surrounding hundreds of miles, as the youth silently disappeared into nothingness.

"Amazing, to think that we would be able to witness such a sight, truly a miracle indeed"

"With that power, even extinguishing half a country with a fart doesn't seem far fetched!"

"What sight do you think he's experiencing right now?"

The crowd turned for one last time towards the torn sky that was slowly closing.

Envy filled the hearts of all immortals, hoping one day that they too may create such sight and leave to explore the heavens above.

The youth in question was currently falling upwards, travelling beyond any conceivable speed, while he himself felt as if he was floating on a small calm river. 'So this is what ascending feels like, it's so comfortable' he silently thought.

He kept drifting for what felt as an eternity, wherever he looked, there was no longer any light, no sound, no smell, nothing. If he couldn't feel his physical body knowing that it was completely fine, he would have thought that he was slowly fading out of existence.

Suddenly, a dark red light appeared and enveloped him, disrupting his momentum, tearing the space around. Within the light, he met eye to eye with what seemed to be some sort of spirit wolf, that resembled somewhat the King Fernir mystical beast within the immortal world.

The wolf glared at the youth but before it could even slash its paws at the infiltrator, with a swing of his sleeves, the youth easily dissipated the aggressor.

In the blink of an eye, as if the red light was satisfied, the youth was thrown and his surrounding changed. He was no longer surrounded by nothingness, the red light also disappeared. No, in fact, as he looked around, he was surrounded by hundreds of young beauties whose appearance all were above average. Silently, he thought to himself 'So this is what heaven is like!'.

A few minutes before the youth ascended, within a world far far away, the students of the Jilin Academy's 4th year class were all getting ready to summon their spirit companion. Jilin Academy was the number one girls only school for geniuses of each family to attend and learn magic.

When one reached the age of 16, they would be able to condense a spirit companion that was said to be the embodiment of a combination of their character and affinity, that would aid the user in battles and learning. If one had a strong connection with the fire element and managed to summon a phoenix as a companion, it could be said that they would become one of the strongest fire practitioners in the world as long as they practiced diligently.

However, the rarity of the spirit summoned had a direct correlation with the users amount of mana and their character.

Within the courtyard used for battle training were currently the 34 students from the 4th year class, but fascinatingly, even the 5th and 6th year classes were present to watch the 4th year summoning. It was not rare for a few seniors to show up sometimes for summons, but for everyone from both classes to be present, this was truly rare.

All this was due to one girl, who was the little sister of the current youngest archmage alive. Everyone had great expectations for her.

"What do you think her spirit beast will be?"

"I don't know, but her sister managed to summon one of the legendary beasts!"

"Maybe she might be able to summon the almighty King Fenrir!"

"Don't kid yourself! That is an existence above the legendary beasts, even though she has a high affinity to wind, earth and water, how hard do you thing it is to summon a beast above the legendary level! Only 8 people in history have even summoned a legendary one, let alone a supreme beast."

"You'll see, if her sister who has less talent then her summoned a legendary beast, why can't she summon a supreme one?"

"Now now, we will all witness her summoning soon, there's no need to debate"

"Here she is! Everyone is done summoning, there hasn't been anything too amazing so far."

There were dozens of spirit beasts within the courtyard, most students were all excitingly playing around with their summoned beasts.

An announcement from the head mistress suddenly rang out, "Eva Searhart, please make your way to the summoning circle".

Silence immediately overtook the surroundings.

The young girl had clear blue eyes and long silver hair, she was wearing a bright green dress while the aura of an advanced mage surrounded her. She began slowly walking towards the summoning inscriptions while confidence and expectation filled her gaze.

One had to know that she was already one stage away from becoming an archmage, and was expected to reach it before turning 18. Her sister who was deemed as one of the greatest geniuses only reached the archmage rank at 20.

As the young girl began pouring out her mana within the circle, a red light descended from the heavens as it would during all summons and.

The girl kept pouring more and more of her mana, until she was completely exhausted, and then the moment everyone awaited came. The red light manifested itself once again in the middle of the circle slowly taking the appearance of what would be her spirit beast.

Just the sheer amount of red light that appeared signified that an amazing spirit would appear. Everyone's gaze was fixed in the middle of the circle awaiting in anticipation, some gazes were full of admiration, others full of hope, while some filled with envy. This child had a great future ahead of her.

The red light started taking the appearance of a wolf, and 3 horns seemed to be slightly visible.

'Could it be, the supreme beast Fenrir?' Everyone had the same thought at this moment.

Then suddenly, right before the spirit materialized, it dissipated just as fast. The red light disappeared and all that remained was what seemed to be a young man. Under everyone's gazes, the young man looked around and flashed a dashing smile, making everyone's hearts skip a beat.

But then, realizing what just happened, everyone was in shock. Was her spirit beast a human? How could that be. The companions were called spirit beasts specifically because only beasts were summoned!

'Does this mean that her greatest affinity is with with human male?' this thought ran through most people's minds.

How... embarrassing.

Currently, Eva was standing in front of the circle, exhausted and dumbfounded. She was sure she saw a wolf back then, but why did it turn into a human!?

'Could it be that my affinity with this human is greater than that wolf? How can this be, there isn't even any mana flowing in him, he looks like a complete mortal!'

Everyone started whispering and chatting with one another about what just happened. Chaos ensued. The higher ups could no longer remain still, this concerned the star of their academy after all.

"Everyone, return to your chambers. Classes are done for today, you will learn more about your companions tomorrow. Leave now."

The students could only follow.

"Eva, remain here." the head of the academy continued.

Eva currently kept her head down in shame and embarrassment, not knowing what to do, while the boy looked around enthusiastically.
