Wis and Danke sat in a field of grass. It had taken Danke hours to understand what "earth" was. His inherited memories had helped, but he'd still had to brute force a few things along his way to understanding the true nature of 'earthly' firmament.
It had taken days for Danke to understand how soil, stone, minerals, and bedrock were supposed to interact within the ground. It helped that he had the data from the dreams of several worlds to work with as a guide.
That same data was also useful for constructing and generating the seeds he planted in the earth.
Overall, Danke was able to create roughly ten square miles of land. Generating the soil from data, energy, and will.
He found that as soon as he started creating things his inner-world became limited to the scale of his creation. The boundlessness that he'd seen and experienced before was suddenly reduced to the extent of the things that actually existed.
He innately knew that from now on the breadth of his inner-world would grow as he grew. Gaining substance and depth as his powers grew more potent and his essence grew thicker.
"Master, it's wonderful…" said Wis. Her voice dreamy.
"Nh...Tha-, Thanks I guess." said Danke. Not sure what the puppe was referring to since to his eyes he hadn't done anything impressive.
Simply following the instructions of his inherited memories and relying on the raw power and data he'd accumulated while he slept was nothing praiseworthy in Danke's view.
"You don't get it…" said Wis. Seeming to understand what Danke couldn't see.
"The air...A core-world, a newborn layer, would normally never have air this fresh, this full and energy and life."
"Oh,...that." said Danke.
He got it now. The core-world existed within his soul. Sitting alongside, the 'other' thing that lay within his soul. That little nugget of never-ending vitality. The spark of eternity that was bequeathed to him when he was unceremonious sent to his first world to serve as a sleeping time bomb against the dark gods who ruled it.
"Yes, that…" said Wis. Closing her eyes and sitting back. Humming a low, soft, song.
"This world...this layer. I look forward to seeing what you make of it, master." said Wis.
Danke chuckled.
"Look forward, nothing...You're gonna help me build it." said Danke.
"...What? Wait, what did you-? What are you-...?!" said Wis. Eyes snapping open as she felt unfamiliar power and knowledge flowing into her through their connection.
"What is this?" said Wis.
"In the parlance of my own world… If I'm the one with owner rights, and ultimate control of this world, you're my number two as the top-level administrator. Naturally, that means having administrative rights and abilities." said Danke. Smiling.
Wis stared up at the sky, and Danke began to panic as she wept more of her oily black tears.
"Woah, woah, I-...thought you'd like this! I'm… I'm sorry if you don't want to do it, you don't have-..."
"No, master. I do like it. I love it. It's just that I waited so long for you..."
"I know… I know, sorry again about oversleeping." said Danke.
"No, that's not what I meant… I mean even before I met you. I was waiting. Waiting for a figment like you because I'd failed my first figment and allowed them to fade away completely into the world's essence. Then you came around and you kept doing things that shouldn't be possible. Making me happier and happier...F**king up all the plans I'd made for you. I'm supposed to be dead dammit. I was supposed to become one with you in the truest sense. Turned into a sort of secondary brain instead that big empty brain of yours. I...I... I mean, I don't even know what kind of creature I'm supposed to be now. Am I a vampire? A demon? A witch? A fairy? What the hell?! What do I do about this?" said Wis. Sobbing now.
"I...er, I don't know." said Danke.
Wis sat up. Then she leaned over and kissed Danke on lips. Her lips tasting of caramel and copper. Sweet with a metallic tang.
"Take responsibility, master! Look how you've made a mess of me!" said Wis.
"Er...Uh, okay." said Danke. Feeling like his brain had short circuited as he tried to process what had just happened.
"...Good." said Wis. Returning to her seated position and blush. Waving her hand at the sky and instantly filling it with countless dim lit lights.
Danke looked up at the starry sky and knew that as he grew more powerful, those lights would eventually grow brighter and brighter. He smiled and waved his own hand adding clouds, a moon, and a sun, to the heavens of his inner-world.
Wis smiled tiredly, seeming to have to exhausted herself with her outburst. She waved her hand and a great forest emerged from the ground. Each tall, with a trunk of obsidian, and great strong branches lined with silver-green leaves.
Danke matched Wis' smile and with a flexing of his will a wooden farmhouse emerged from the ground in the middle of the forest. A house similar to the one he used to live in during the summers when he wasn't in boarding school. His mother's house. Set outside the family's estate. The farm created complete with a walking path, and a neat, white, picket fence.
Danke stood and proffered his hand to Wis. Offering to pull her to her feet.
"Let's rest for the day and see what happens tomorrow." said Danke.
"See, master? You 'can' come up with good plans when you want to." said Wis. Stifling a yawn.
