Chereads / Shade in the darkness / Chapter 3 - ***PSYCHO***

Chapter 3 - ***PSYCHO***

Without concern, Ruhi reached home and explained everything to her aunt, who went to Roy's house and what they discussed. After discovering the scene, Nayomi felt slightly heated with her brother because both daughters suffered. Now, he left with his elder daughter.

"Ruhi, what should we do now?"

"There isn't anything we can do, Aunty. We must wait and watch what's going on. I don't think he will do anything for us because he wants Annie, not me. I'll go to work."

"My darling, be careful."

"Don't worry, my lovely. I'll be okay. Take care of you and stay with you forever. So, don't worry,"

Nayomi truly worries about Ruhi. She is only 18 years old and even going to school. However, her words are sharp, like those of a grown-up person. She knew her nephew was strong from her soul. She will take care of herself.

That night isn't good for both. Ruhi struggled to fall asleep, but she couldn't because, in her mind, everywhere, her father and sister were running, and she couldn't ignore them. The next day morning, she left for school. She confessed everything to her besties on break, and that disaster arrived at her.

"OMG... Ruhi. You're fortunate."

"Yes, my darling. You're working with the loveliest man on the earth."

When they discovered that she was working for Roy, both friends went crazy. Ruhi couldn't analyse their feeling towards that person.

"OMG, you both should move to a mental hospital. You are in a dangerous condition. I even feel ignored. Your bother after that psycho."

Ruhi felt angry towards her friends but didn't care much about them. She knew their craziness towards only Roy's beauty.

"We are upset about Mr Roy. What will arrive at that innocent man after you continue to work with him? Please, lord, look after that man from this virus."

Chathuri said while screaming. Ruhi still couldn't hold her giggle.

"My goodness. What kinds of friends do I have? Don't worry about that bastard. I'm not going to rape that psycho."

"Who knows, because of your anger. You will do that."

Kaushi also added her opinions while keeping her laugh.

"I'll wipe out both of you. I'll abuse him and take some pictures and upload them on FB. I'll fulfil your request."

Ruhi quickly grabs their neck and shakes them until they beg to surrender.

Time is like a rocket. It's the most terrible and valuable feature in everyone's life. Ruhi also felt like that when she realised today was Sunday. Before she could get up from the bed, her silly friends came to her home.

"Don't you have homes?"

When she saw them, Ruhi asked, showing a furious face to them.

"We don't have. Nayomi Aunty, we stick around here for lunch, too. Don't forget."

Chathuri said while chuckling.

"Not a problem, dear."

"Aunty, you told me you're not cooking today."

"Ruhi... you're such a ridiculous bastard."

Ruhi knew she couldn't hold them. Previously, both also came because of a beautiful river near Nayomi's house. So, three never neglect to show up here every school break.

"Don't forget your breakfast, Ruhi. Take your friends here."

Ruhi couldn't skip her meal ever. Whatever happened, she must get her meal first; later, she can leave anywhere. After finishing their breakfast, three of them left for the river. They didn't skip their extra clothes because they intended to stay there momentarily. Ruhi also chose to ignore her stress and preferred to be calm. They forget the pressure and love this moment for a few hours until they are sick of it. Suddenly, Chathuri came out from the water, looked at her phone and was surprised. She never thought the time had gone this long.

"Hey, guys, we spent 3 hours here."

However, Ruhi doesn't have a feeling to come out. She sat on the vast rock again and put her legs into the water while putting her hair like a bun. Suddenly, her eyes catch the massive build near the river. It looks marvellous.

"From here, the city looks very pretty. I'd like you to please see that building. If anyone watches from there, that person can see this river. If I can go there and see here."

Ruhi shows the building to her friends, extending her hand. When discussing the building, Kaushi remembers something her friend doesn't know.

"If I'm right, this is the biggest building in this area."

"If I'm right. Who owns the greatest building in our area?"

Chathuri adds something that neither of them knew.

"Who?"

"Who else? Our hero, Mr Roy Athapaththu."

"OMG."

After hearing his name, Ruhi's passion went downward. She felt enormous anger that she couldn't tell anyone.

"If I knew before. This building belongs to that psycho. I'll blast that building; only he is in there."

Before she finishes her words, both friends stay behind while glowering. Ruhi couldn't stop her scream when she looked at her friends' glowering faces. She realised they would wipe out her this time, so she showed a cunning snicker but couldn't slip away from them.

"Ruhi... do you have a death wish."

While glowering, Kaushi asked her. Not only does Kaushi still struggle to capture her, but they can't grab her because she jumps into the water quickly before they arrest her. She plays with water while giggling.

"Don't come here, stay there. I'll catch you if you come here."

"Please, my lord. Can you give some magic to my hand, and then I can vanish that Roy psycho from this world? After that, my friends could survive happily ever after."

Ruhi spoke while keeping her hands in the sky. Both laugh loudly after discovering her words. She splashes water towards them, and then they jump into the water to play with her friend.

"How long has she been hanging here?"

As Ruhi told them, someone is looking down from the building. He is Roy. Before Chathuri mentioned, the building belonged to him. He is the actual owner of that building. His company is in this whole building. A few minutes ago, he appeared near the window to get clean air. That time, unexpectedly, he saw Ruhi. To confirm, he got his telescope to watch clearly. He thought Ruhi was a chatty girl, but now he knows she was entirely mischievous because her terrible work created a surprise. Then, she swam under the water and arrived a few minutes later. She is gentle and talented in swimming, but her deadly swimming style jolts Roy's heart. Unlike other days, he felt his anger growing for undesirable events. A few minutes later, Ruhi and her friends moved home, and Roy turned to the office room to wrap up his work that left midway. While finishing his task, his eyes picked up the watch on the table.

"I stayed near the window for more than 1 hour. That means she also stayed there for more than 1 hour. She is an idiotic girl."

He felt some unwanted behaviour after seeing Ruhi. Roy worried because her carelessness may have caused her sickness, and he couldn't settle on his work after reflecting on that feeling.

"Jayaweera... can you send me Ruhi's contact number."

He hoped to sort out this problem first, so he called his secretary, ordering her contact number. He considered it better to call about this.

"I'm sorry, sir, I don't have Ruhi's phone number. I'll get out for you."

Jayaweera took some time to recover her phone number. However, Roy couldn't stick around until he got the number.

"Why is he taking a long time?"

While walking around the room, he tried to calm down, but he couldn't do that. A few minutes later, again, he calls and asks about the number.

"Sorry, sir, we don't have Ruhi's details. We just only got his father's and elder sister's details. Please give me 20 more minutes. I'll quickly send you."

He couldn't handle his impatience and anger any further. He grabbed the phone again to call his secretary. Still, he breaks his plan because he feels this time, Jayaweera asks why he is rushing to call Ruhi.

"I can't ask him again; I don't have any reason, and I can't say that I saw Ruhi in the river and.... no-no."

He felt he doesn't have any passion until he takes the number. Finally, Jayaweera took Roy's number. When he takes it, he doesn't stay anymore? He dials the number. When he calls the Ruhi, it's already in the evening, and Chathuri and Kaushi have both moved to their home. Suddenly, an unknown number turned up on her phone. She hoped that it was from his father. She grabbed the phone and responded.

"Hello."

"Is this Ruhi?"

"Yes, speaking. Who is calling?"

The tone was familiar, but she couldn't recognise it immediately.

"I'm Roy. Do you forget about me?"

After picking up his name, Ruhi realised what misery this is now. She couldn't figure out why he was calling and how he got her number.

"Oh... really. I'm sorry I couldn't recognise your voice. Please don't worry. I'm never moving to overlook you."

Her comments carried a laugh to his face.

"That's perfect."

"How did you get my number? I didn't give it to you?"

Ruhi reasonably wonders how he discovered her number because she never showed her number to anyone.

"Did you forget who I am, and what can I do?"

"Oh.... I'm sorry. I forgot that you're the most powerful person in this area and can do anything. After leaving your home, I'm trying to memorise your name. Roy Athapaththu and Athapaththu Roy."

Ruhi didn't remain mute. She chose to harsh him. However, her comments don't become unpleasant for him. He discovers some fun with quarrelling with her, but Ruhi tries to identify how to get angry with him every time.

"That's wonderful. I'm glad to hear that you're memorising my name."

Ruhi felt more irritable towards him.

"Yes, I have to pray and light a lamp for your name. That's what I just started to do. Idiot."

Ruhi thought while gnashing her teeth.

"Why are you silent?"

"Why did you call me? I don't have time to chat with you?"

She decided to pass up his conversation and finish the call, but he seemed a little unhappy about her speech. Whatever he felt, Ruhi didn't care about that. She just wishes to slip away from him.

"I called you to remind you. I just wanted to let you know that you have to come tomorrow. Don't skip that."

That's not the truth about calling Ruhi, but he didn't mention the original reason and set up another lie. However, she didn't care about his words.

"Don't worry, I'll be there sharp at 5 o'clock."

"Okay."

"Would you happen to have anything else to report me? If not, then bye."

She didn't give him any chance to talk to her and hung up the phone. After ending the call, Roy stayed silent for a few minutes while considering what kind of a girl she was. She doesn't even care about his words or isn't frightened of him.

"What kind of a girl is she?"

Conversely, Ruhi saves his mobile number under the name 'psycho'.

"This is the perfect name for this man, PSYCHO."
